From Russ Watts, author of ‘The Afflicted,’ comes an action-packed horror novel not for the faint-hearted, dripping with blood and suspense to the very end.
Russ Watts was born in Peterborough, England. At Manchester University he obtained a degree in Russian before forgetting it all as he travelled the world, putting off getting a real job for as long as possible.
He now lives with his wife in New Zealand; writing horror stories, reading horror novels, and watching horror films, waiting for the inevitable collapse of man into a zombie-filled hell.
I'm so glad I discovered this book through Amazon kindle recommendations. I'm a massive zombie fan and always happy to pick up a zombie book. It's getting harder to find zombie fiction out there that has something a little different about it to make you think yes I want to read that. Well this book "Devouring the Dead" has that something different. Set in London, England, a zombie virus spreads rapidly throughout the human and all other wildlife including birds. A group of office workers find themselves stranded high up in a skyscraper in London's financial district. They watch with terror as London and the UK descends into violence, blood and anarchy as the living become infected and seek human flesh. This is a roller coaster of a ride, very exciting to read, filled with tension, great characters and gory shocks and it's great for a change to find a zombie book set in the UK. The ending reaches a climax and sets up easily for a sequel. I really hope the author continues the story. A fantastic read and I highly recommend this to zombie fans.
A fairly unpleasant group of people get trapped in a London office block as a zombie holocaust occurs. The plot is good, the number of characters is confusing. Blood and guts and sex and gore. What's not to like?
