How did a one-heat stand and a fake courting turn into a potential pack?
With a national suppressant shortage looming over her head, Eli's time is running out. At least until her best friend Jack and his boyfriend Beckett make her an offer she can’t refuse. They're the last two alphas she should accept an offer from to help her through her heat, but Eli promises it will only be a one-time thing. One eye-opening heat later, Eli catches feelings she told herself she wouldn’t. With a broken heart on the horizon, Eli runs straight into another alpha. Raj doesn’t mind her messy feelings, and while she tries not to fall apart, he’s there to pick up the pieces. When their fake date turns into a potential pack, can Eli finally have everything she didn’t know she wanted?
With a southern twang that's all charm, Lana hails from Tennessee with her four feline roommates. If one of them isn't demanding her attention, she's most likely writing. Her stories bring life to characters who don't fit the mold, romance as sweet as it is sexy, and worlds better than this one. Author of paranormal, sweet omegaverse, monster romance, and queer love stories with a happily ever after.
I did enjoy the male characters of this book and the whole concept but it really… bothered me sometimes. I just, I don’t mean to be that person who makes a negative review and totally hates on the author… so I am going to only slightly be that person. Every Lana Kole book apart of this series has been terrible. None of her books have the same good plot, characters, and romance as Kathryn Moon’s have had. I think she wrote Lyric and The Heartbeats and my main negative part of that book was the fact that one guy got added in so late and just had barely any character. I didn’t understand that at all. But it’s got to say something about the fact that I don’t like any of the books Lana has written apart of this series versus Kathryn Moon who is one of my favourite authors. Maybe Lana works better in a different genre but standalone Omegaverse doesn’t seem to be working out for her. I’m begging for a new Kathryn Moon book in this series as well as a whole new series from her. I love her so damn much.
This was by far my least favourite book of the series - I just couldn’t get invested in these characters. It may be personal preference but I think this one left a lot to be desired. There just wasn’t enough emphasis on actual storytelling and everything felt very rushed but also very slow.
This book was not for me. To be fair, I had a feeling I wouldn't like it before reading. Throughout the series the covers gave their own impressions. Baby with her confused hand pose, Lola hugging herself, Lyric and Stellan with their stubborn but chill poses for the camera. Eve's don't give a f mystery, Wendy's used to the glamour life and Faith's look to the horizon. The cover for this one screamed petulant brat with attitude. I'm also kinda sick of the pun titles now.
It was sickly sweet in that cozy meet cute bakery way times two. You had the real instant couple Jack and Beckett, then you had the fake but real couple Eli and Raj. It was sex and misunderstandings. Two mature adults talking about parent trapping two immature ones that couldn't communicate. The friends to lovers that came across as morning after regret, because again communication. There were moments like with the dating stalking getting caught out and the laser tag, but as for the rest of it...all my pet peeves in one. At one point this book was a one star for me. Still, another one down and almost finished the series.

I absolutely loved Knot That Serious! It was everything we love about the Sweetverse!
It had two best friends who were both completely oblivious to their feelings for each other, an swoonworthy alpha (who matches his nail colors to his suits), and another alpha who swoops in to help the others realize their feelings for each other.
This story was complete with fake dating, mutual pining, heats, knotting, and so much sweetness. I love the dynamic between them all as they formed their little pack.
Highly recommended if you like sweet and fluffy omegaverse romances!
It was cute in a lot of ways but it bothered me how the pack came together. It felt so off for folks to be dating each other on their own and making decisions without checking in with their romantic partners.
For that reason, I had to keep skipping through the spicy scenes cause they kinda bothered me.
This is a super sweet omegaverse (sweetverse?) without drama, it's purely sweetness and love, so if you like books without a lot of tension (beside the sexy kind), then this a good option. Deffo have some sweet treats available whilst reading, because Eli is a baker and her baked goods are inspiring. 🍩
This is a really cute, fun romance. I really loved the navigation of feelings and the many schemes they each get into in an attempt to make the others realize their feelings. So full of happy-squee moments and sweet interactions~ very low angst.
I got to read this as an ARC since I'm subscribed to Lana's Patreon! I absolutely love this story! I love how quirky and adorkable they all are. The antics they get up to. Lana does so well with her character-building that I can't help but fall in love with them all. I giggled, laughed, and choked up numerous times throughout. I love all the Sweetverse books and do NOT even ask me to pick a favorite there is just no way.
Thank you again Lana for such an amazing creation to be added to my collection of books that leave me just feeling all the feels and love throughout.
This was very sweet and cute. I enjoyed getting to see all of the relationships, including the MM one, grow from start to finish individually. I feel like some of the relationships got a bit shorted, but with so many it didn't feel lacking. Lots of fun and unique spicy scenes too! Very low angst and many ridiculous antics. This was a fun miscommunication trope because the characters (mostly Jack) respond in hilarious ways, rather than just being frustrating.
A very sweet friends-to-lovers story with minimal drama and lots of spice with MM/FM/FMM scenes.
I was really loving this book, until I reached the 95-98% mark and realized the book was almost concluded, but the story felt unfinished. This is the one instance where I will gladly read another 100 pages, I don’t care how long the book is, I want the rest of the story, not the rushed version. The book ended abruptly and felt rushed with missing scenes that could’ve really helped round out the characters/story.
To start, I was very disappointed that Eli and Beckett’s relationship was such an afterthought in the end. I really wish they could’ve had a couple more scenes/moments between the two of them to really solidify their relationship. Instead it felt like there was hardly any connection between them and that they’re only together because of Jack. They didn’t even say “I love you” to each other until after they bonded, and even then it was in a sex scene with Jack. It very much felt thrown in as an afterthought like “oh yea I forgot those two need bonded by the end of the book, *starts writing scene*, oh shoot, they haven’t even had a single intimate interaction since the heat scenes, better throw in that they love each other and call it a day”.
Also… no group sex scene? 😒 By the end they still didn’t really feel like a cohesive pack, I mean Raj still lived separately from them and it was very much team Jack & Beckett and team Raj. It felt like Raj was very much separated from the others. It would’ve been nice to have seen more of a relationship blossoming between Beckett & Raj and Jack & Raj but it was never really addressed whether Raj was into guys? Idk… but color me disappointed for missed opportunities because even an added epilogue with a group scene would’ve really helped the ending.

What a cute read! I loved Eli and her stubbornness. She and Jack were hilarious together, their banter was gold status. It was also super frustrating how absolutely blind and stubborn both of them were. I mean really? But enter Beckett who sees the forest for the trees and decides to help. So if I'm going to be 100% honest I have mixed feelings about Beckett. I liked him but I personally felt that he was there for Jack specifically. To me it didn't feel like he was as into Eli - even through to the end, it was like he knew she was the package deal with Jack but the love Jack and even Raj had for her were way up there compared to Beckett. Now before anyone comes for me...lol. I DID like Beckett as a character and liked he was in the pack and he deserved an award for patience when trying to get Jack and Eli to acknowledge their feelings. But there was a line in the book when he was talking to Raj and said if Eli was happy then Jack was happy and I get it - he wanted both to be happy but...and when they finally bonded Jack was there. Again this was just how I felt about it. Doesn't take away from the story and the steam between the 2 Alphas was 10/10 hot! Of course without the little bit of drama Raj would not have entered and can I just say swoon! I adored Raj and how he treated and loved Eli was chef's kiss. He was my favorite hands down. I liked how he just fit in with all of them and how willing he was to befriend them and get to know them. The group date was so much fun and hilarious. If you like the sweet eres then this is must add for your collection. It was sweet, funny and just a really feel good read.
I was glad when this book (and the series) finally ended. This series was my first foray into the omegaverse sub-genre, and I really enjoyed it for the most part. However some books in this series were misses for me, and after the first book or two, things were not explained very much, so unless you read that first book, you could be lost. Heaven forbid someone be new to these and start in the middle somewhere (hey, it happens).
This particular book, I believe was one of my least favorite. It almost felt like a throw-away book. There wasn't much story, and it all just seemed rather sudden that after only a couple weeks everyone is ready to join in a pack and live together and bond happily ever after. There wasn't much character-building, either. It's like the author knows these people and just expects everyone else to as well, without telling us anything. The main focus was on Jack and Eli, and nobody else needed to be explained.
Things progressed OK for the first part of the book, but then you throw in Raj later, and it feels a bit off. It's like there are a few books that somehow got combined into one. Not to mention, how much about Raj's dates was fake? None of it gave off that fake-vibe, especially when they were sleeping together, and yet she still believed it was fake?
I will not read this one again, and I will not recommend this book to anyone (even if reading the rest of the series). This book feels like a throw-away, and can be treated as such in relation to the rest of the series. The first couple books in the series I may eventually read again, but I don't think I will get to the later books. It was a strong start, but fizzled out.
Book: Knot That Serious Author: Lana Kole Series: Sweetverse (Book 9) Release Date: September 30, 2023 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Highlights: • Omegaverse • Mutual Pining • Friends to Lovers • Insta-Love • Fake Dating
Nine out of ten dentists agree “Knot That Serious” is so sweet it may cause cavities. This was my first dip into the Omegaverse and I’m so glad because it was very cute and cozy and had a really chill vibe- similar to the Cautionary Tales series by Lana Kole which I have read and love. Eli and Jack are lifelong friends, roommates and business partners. They do everything together. Except date. That is until a handsome stranger literally bumps into Jack and changes everything. Will Eli be subject to listen to the explicit details of Jack’s newest alpha hookup? Will Jack’s new BF have him questioning his true feelings for Eli? Will Eli meet a handsome stranger of her own and will it make Jack jealous?
I was really invested in these characters from the beginning and the angst that built throughout was delicious. Everyone’s personalities mixed together were the perfect recipe and I can’t wait for you all to read this one! The spice is top (k)notch and simmers the whole time which is chef’s kiss!
While Knot That Serious is part of the Sweetverse it can also be read as a stand-alone. While I haven’t read any of the other books in this series I am excited to after reading this book! To sweeten the deal both Lana Kole and Kathryn Moon have books in this series!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Knot That Serious was the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and emotionally satisfying—I absolutely devoured it! This book has everything I love in an Omegaverse romance: a tight-knit friendship that turns into something more, sizzling chemistry, and just the right amount of angst to keep me hooked. Eli and Jack have been best friends forever—roommates, business partners, practically each other’s other half. But they’ve never crossed the line into something more… until a heat-induced one-night stand with Jack and his boyfriend, Beckett, changes everything. Suddenly, feelings Eli swore she wouldn’t have come rushing in, and when she meets Raj—a charming, slightly mischievous alpha—her world gets even more complicated. What starts as a fake date quickly turns into something deeper, and before she knows it, Eli has a chance at a pack she never thought she wanted. I adored the dynamic between all four characters. Jack and Eli’s lifelong bond was the heart of the story, and their banter was top-tier hilarious. Beckett was such a perfect balance of gentle and commanding, and Raj? Oh, he was the best kind of trouble. Together, they made such a well-rounded, emotionally satisfying pack, and I loved watching them all come together. I love the Sweetverse universe and will re-read them over and over again! Whether you’re an Omegaverse veteran or dipping your toes in for the first time, Knot That Serious is a must-read. Sweet, steamy, and full of heart—this one left me grinning long after I turned the last page!

I read chapter after chapter and it was just all about this gay guy meeting and falling in love with another alpha. The "main" female character has a brief mention, where she calls the pharmacy for a refill and they tell her they don't have any more heat suppressants, she goes I'll figure it out. Then it's back to this guy's love story... I just feel bad for her because she's obviously the hag best friend who's in love with the guy but he's completely gay, only dates alpha men, and had literally never thought about sleeping with her or any other women, has no plans on looking for an omega. Just super gay, blowing her off in her time of crisis to go hook up with this stranger he just met, not giving her a second thought. Sad man. Couldn't read any more.
I can’t believe how much I love this book. Why? Great question! I am not a fan of angst. I also don’t really care for stories where the main characters are in love with each other and are too scared to say anything for fear the other doesn’t feel the same. That’s pretty much what this whole book is. But…
Everything else about this book is exactly what I want to read about. The main characters deal with not only their practically life long relationship they never noticed while also working through developing feelings for two others. They grow and change. They deal with highs and lows. They learn to face their fears about relationships and find true happiness.
Great story, great characters, great writing. Give it a chance even if you hate angst like I do.
This is the second book I read of hers, and I'm just going to slowly add the rest of her books to my Kindle if they're this good! This book gave me everything 😍
Eli, Beckett, Raj, and Jack. What a group. I think Raj is my favorite, but the dynamics between all of them had me laughing and falling in love. They were so goofy and hot and spicy, and ugh, please just do yourself a favor and grab this book!
📚 Best Friends to Lovers 📚 Omegaverse 📚 FMMM 📚 Multi POV 📚 Miscommunication 📚 Fake Dating 📚 Forced Proximity 📚 "Good Girl"/"Good Boy"
This series will always be a top-tier cozy series with all my favorite troupes and emotional appeal.
With that said this book was no different, I loved that this harem was built during the book rather than a “premade” pack is that what it’s called? I don’t know.
Anyways, who doesn’t want to read a friends-to-lovers book with random encounter lovers who all just make a perfect pack? Now, it wasn’t all smooth sailing but they got there and it was so fun seeing it progress with communication finally being on the right side so to speak. Now all I want to do is make some of those Halloween donuts that Eli made for her emo reunion.
Lana Kole’s Sweetverse contributions are very sweet and cozy (I personally loved Lyric and The Heartbeats for example), and this book was no exception. I love the men in the book (more than the FMC probably) and the bakery imagery.
The book is bi MMMF, but I think it could have been even more bi. There were hints of all the men having crushes on each other, but aside from the first two pairings we don’t see enough of those crushes in action.
There’s some miscommunication trope, but it’s not terrible. (Maybe a little annoying.)
I love Sweetverse, and this had a good premise…but the way it was executed really didn’t hold my attention past the first half of the book. After that, it felt like a chore to pick up. I enjoyed each couple individually—Eli & Raj and Jack & Beckett—and they were fun all together, but the angst of forming a pack felt so forced. The lack of communication between Jack and Eli seemed unnecessary. Especially after Eli’s heat, and with Beckett there to presumably be the third party voice of reason. I like the characters, and I like how all the relationships ended up, but the path to get there just wasn’t enthralling.
Overall, unfortunately not my favorite in the Sweetverse.
A new addition to the Sweetverse! I am so glad to see the series continue! This is a shared world standalone omegaverse. It starts off with Eli and Jack who are best friends who are oblivious to the signs that the other wants more than just a friendship. The banter between them is hilarious and the best part of the book. When a simple pharmacy incident sends her into her first heat, who better to help her than Jack? Add in Beckett who is an soft Dom, and Raj who is a bit of a troublemaker, and you've got some great times ahead! The spice was perfect as always! A very fun read!

🩷Omegaverse 🩷Why Choose 🩷Friends to Lovers 🩷Fake Dating
Knot That Serious is the ninth book of the Sweetverse series of interconnected standalones. It took me a while to get into this one. I’m glad I stuck with it because I ended up loving Eli and Jack…Jack is my favorite! I loved that they were best friends since childhood and the banter was funny. And Beckett was swoony with both Eli and Jack. Raj was sweet and fun. I appreciated the low angst and the sweetness of this story and am looking forward to more by this author and series.
