The author describes the must do's along with the history of each recommendation. Even dress codes and best times for restaurants. Love that he included addresses at the end of the book. I'm even more excited for my trip after reading this!
There are some very good tips here for locals and visitors alike. Several editing issues (typos) that are a bit distracting but as someone who spends a part of the year in New Orleans, I can’t argue with his information or his judgment.
Not an elaborate list of every single thing to do and see, but a well crafted personal insight of the writer's favorites. I've been to New Orleans several times and have visited almost every establishment in this book. Spot on, wether a first timer or a seasoned traveler to NOLA, this is a must read.
***note to the author It took me way longer than an hour to read. Only because I kept finding myself remembering my own experiences with much of the same nostalgic fondness.
Now I want to visit New Orleans more than ever! The author has a way to make the streets and flavors come alive in his writing. The content is relevant and to the point. I could have highlighted the entire book. There was just not very much I could omit. Thanks for making me eager to visit.
