This is a great book that does an excellent job of dispelling the myth that women want an overly sensitive man. I was slightly put off by the fact that the book is written as a fictional conversation between a man and his grandfather, but that didn't take away from the wisdom included therein. I have actually applied some of the principles discussed in this book, and the result has been a much better relationship with my wife. I highly recommend this book to every man who is is currently in or considering getting into a serious relationship with a woman.

O carte surprinzator de placuta si de diferita fata de restul cartilor de psihologie practica/ dezvoltarea personala. Fara chestii complicate si constructii frazeologice incomprehensibil elaborate pe optsprezece randuri.

Intelepciunea este transmisa simplu, prin intermediul unui dialog intre un sot cu probleme si bunicul sau. Principiile "vechi de cand lumea" transpar usor din textul savuros pigmentat de umor si citate.

Must Read for Newlyweds

You may not agree with everything in this book, but much of it is spot on. I believe the key to a great marriage is communication, especially about the difficult subjects. I can see how reading this book as newlyweds would have been amazing if for no other reason then to lead to conversations regarding expectations.
I plan on getting copies of this book for my friends who are not enjoying the marriage they yearn for.

Interesting book. Very short, mostly interesting, and the content is good. This information applies more to relationships and you should be aware of that before you buy it.

Good book though, it answers lots of problems that men have in relating to women.

Responsibilities, Leadership, Understanding, and all those timeless lexicons that are in dearth in today's men are being taught to the young man in the book by his grandfather.

Isn't it fascinating that what we are uncovering or experiencing now has already been uncovered and experienced before? Times may change but human nature remains the same.

It is a good book for husbands who lack the foresight of their myopic actions in order to assuage their wives and a good book for wives that are stressed by their husband's indecisiveness.

Classic wisdom passed down from a grandfather down to his sons and grandchildren about how to treat their wives.

No matter the decade, it looks like women want men that aren't reactive to their emotions, stay calm, and can take charge in a situation. They'll resent their husbands if they don't.

Definitely will continue to work in these aspects of my life as well.

Bu kitabı İngiliz Dili ve Edebiyatı okuyanların -özellikle kadın yönünden incelediğimizde- çok eleştireceğini düşünüyorum ki ben çoğu yerde soru işaretlerimi hemen koydum :)

Diğer yandan erkekler için ideal bir kitap denilemez. Elliot Katz onikiden filan vurmamış yani. Yazar demokrasinin erkeğin elinde yumuşatılması gerektiğini söylüyor.

Ancak şunu söylemeliyim ki, ben bu kitaba -ne kadın ne erkek- insan olarak baktığımda kendimde görüp yapmak istediğim şeyleri gördüm. Amaç, önemsemek, dinlemek, güçlü olmak, net ve güzel düşünmek, plan, kararlılık, öğrenmek...

Kişisel gelişim olarak altını çizdiğim pek çok yer oldu, bu yönden yazar güzel noktalara değinmiş tabii ki bunlar hepimizin bildiği şeyler ama en azından kitaptan hiçbir şey alamadım diye hayıflanmadığım için içim rahatladı.

Titlul la început îți dă un sentiment - pe bune? miroase a păcăleală. Dar conține sfaturi bune pentru bărbați în raport cu femeile, despre cum să-ți recâștigi masculinitatea. În prezent e o problemă mare cu masculinitatea, a degradat mult. Societatea a trecut prin diverse schimbări de mentalitate în ultimele decenii, unele nu bune. Este deficit de modele de viață pentru băieți și ei cresc cu diferite frustrări și convingeri toxice, fug de responsabilități. Mi-a plăcut mult umorul din carte...

This was an extremely short/quick book. You should be able to read it in an hour or so. As such, it was pretty light on content. The content it had wasn't earth-shattering, but sometimes it helps to see what's already common sense put into words.
