A Deeper Shade of Bad: Volume 3

Rate this book
Volume 3 starts where Volume 2 left off. Amelia's life is a wreck. Her relationship with Alex has taken a turn for the worse. Alex's secrets are complicating everything even more. Amelia struggles to figure out what she wants as she tries to make sense of the events that are effecting her life. She struggles to move forward when every obstacle seems to set her back. Danger seems to be around every corner and she can only hope to make it out unharmed, but even that is proving tricky.

I have been writing since I was eight. I started out with poetry. Eventually, I moved on to short fantasy stories, then eventually books. I have always loved books, whether I was reading them or writing them. Books were always a perfect escape from reality. When I was growing up, I admired authors and I imagined I would eventually be one.
The primary genre I write is fantasy romance. I love creating tough heroines and sexy vampires, werewolves, Fae, and every other supernatural creature I can come up with. I also write new adult romance when I am in the right mood. I want my readers to get the same joy from reading my stories that I do when I read some of my favorite authors.

Holy crap! In hindsight, they should have sold the bookstore when Nicky first offered to buy it. Then Amelia would never have met Alex and crazy Elaine. Though I think Carter may be crazier than Alex and Elaine combined! Scary and I can't wait to read what happens next!

...you know, I have no answer to my own question. Why did I read this book? What is wrong with me? Is it some deeper mental masochism that drove me to this? Am I punishing myself in some way for wanting to keep going with a series that is so astoundingly bad I don't even want to write a review for it? Hm... I should look into that.

Plot wise: Amy and Alex get back together. And then they split up. Enter accident. They make up. They split up. Enter abduction. They make up. They split up. Enter even more abduction. End of song.

I must be reading a different book than all of those people rating this with anything over 2 stars. Either that, or I am truly blessed to have read some pretty awesome books in my lifetime. It is such a monumentally insipid read, such a tremendously tedious, uninspiring, flat read. Which, again, annoys the hell out of me, because the idea is really good! Dirty, kinky and depraved - even with the physical abuse that just gets on my fucking nerves.

Nope. Just no.
