And so on to my next batch of Papertiger books - ha I wonder who is getting bored of seeing these ( wonder now if anyone is actually seeing this at all?) - anyway after a recent trip to the Sheffield Space Centre of found a few more missing titles.

Take this one - its a bit of a strange title to be honest. What you have are two huge science fiction and fantasy fans (the Frank's in question) who due to a shared loved, perseverance and the opportunity (oh what I would give to be able to attend those conventions) to collect their choice of artwork.

So in fact this book is a walk through a private collection of art work most of us would kill for. so what makes it so interesting - first for me is the open joy and excitement demonstrated in this book, they love what they collect and are not ashamed to declare it and share it with others.

Second you have here a number of very famous pieces - at least with in the genres - for example the Lovecraft pieces by Michael Whelan. I have seen these shown and referred to so many times and now to actually know they are being owned and appreciated is amazing.

And finally you have true fans who can appreciate them. I have sadly seem to many things collected purely for their intrinsic value, from toys never to come out their original packing to books that will never be read. That is not the case with these pieces.

So even though the Frank's are not artists this book is a fascinating read. Its also surprising to see how many pieces I not only recognise but have in other book collections as well. I have known of this book for some time but till never really knew what to expect.
