Daniel H. Pink is the author of six provocative books — including his newest, When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing.
WHEN has spent 4 months on the New York Times bestseller list and was named a Best Book of 2018 by Amazon and iBooks.
Dan's other books include the long-running New York Times bestseller A Whole New Mind and the #1 New York Times bestsellers Drive and To Sell is Human. His books have won multiple awards and have been translated into 39 languages.
He and his wife, who live in Washington, DC, have three children -- a college senior, a college sophomore, and a high school sophomore.
A small book, laced with many counter intuitive findings, that you can readily apply in your work life and for self-improvement. Some ideas are not so novel and regular readers of Pink's books or those who keep abreast of latest research in psychology will find that much of the findings are now part of staple culture. These include things like utility of 20 % free time that companies like Google provide to employees to do side projects, or giving one pair of shoes to needy for every pair of shoes bought.
Some may dismiss these innovations as juts marketing gimmicks but a lot of research shows that these things work - and even if they don't they are the right thing to do!! Overall a very well spent time brushing up on some relevant counter intuitive ideas.
Very short and concise. A must read for any startup, we are still adopting the same methods of running business from the 20th century, and as technology has advanced and multiple generational cohorts in the workforce, we must change the way we manage employees and run businesses. The Old Testament has the 10 commandments, I would go as far to say this should be the 16 commandments of business.
