Will Chance gamble on a future that involves falling in love - which may well cost him his life - or is that one bet his is unwilling to take?
Danica Winters is an Amazon bestselling author who has won multiple awards for writing books that grip readers with their ability to drive emotion through suspense and occasionally a touch of magic. Most recently, Danica was the winner of the Paranormal Romance Guild’s Paranormal Romantic Suspense Book of the Year Award and Chanticleer Media’s Paranormal Book of the Year for her novel Montana Mustangs. When she’s not working, she can be found in the wilds of Montana testing her patience while she tries to understand the allure of various crafts (quilting, pottery, and painting are not her thing). She always believes the cup is neither half full nor half empty, but it better be filled with wine.
This is probably one of the rare series, sequels, trilogy books that claim to be a stand alone and really is. If you didnt read the others, which I didnt, you can still enjoy this one. I liked Harper and when Harper meets Chance. I have not ever read a book where a character is a professional poker player so I say KUDOS for being very very unique! Obviously Chance is a loner and travels a lot, so there are no big roots to settle anywhere. He learns of the death of his ex wife, and surprise, he has a daughter.
I would read it for Chance Landon's character alone. It is a very interesting tale especially if you enjoy this genre. Grab it!
This third book in the 'Nymphs' series follows on from 'Montana Mustangs' in which some unfortunate women met their end. Now the sister of one of those women feels the loss keenly, because her kind are almost immortal.
WINTER SWANS describes shapechangers who interestingly turn to swans; their true form is a lovely, alluring woman. Harper Cygnini has lost her sister Jenna. A lady at the funeral asks Harper to look for a man named Chance Landon, her ex-husband. Harper, who has come from Seattle, sees no reason to help this stranger but Chance comes into her life anyway. He's a professional poker player hoping to win lots of money to help a friend pay a debt. This seems like reckless behaviour, but Harper finds him attractive and when Chance's ex-wife is found dead, Harper is his unwilling alibi.
A stash of drugs, a hitherto unknown teenaged daughter, a snow-capped mountain setting in Idaho and a final gift of books keep our interest. Harper has to close up the home where her sister lived, and she gets to know Chance and his newfound daughter Starling, who just might be the daughter of a nymph, unlikely though that is. Starling is reticent but some good care encourages her to open up, and she claims to have an unusual talent. Could this help the others to find a killer?
I was disappointed that we don't get to see Harper turning into a swan. The point of a shifter story is shapechanging and this is really about how nymphs face the challenge of living in the modern world. Anti-psychotic drugs are mentioned; the scene shifts to a laboratory and a Las Vegas poker tournament. I'm not interested in poker so I skipped those several pages. There's some strong language, allusions to hard drug use and an adult romance. While my favourite is definitely the first of the series, 'The Nymph's Labyrinth' set in Greece, all Danica Winters' fans will be eager to pick up this instalment and see how she keeps working through the concept of the nymph.
Review: Winter Swans is the sweet, suspenseful love story of Harper and Chance. Harper is a nymph swan shifter, cursed to live her very long life alone without real love. Chance is a drifting professional poker player hell bent on getting that big win. While at her estranged sister’s funeral, Harper is approached by a woman asking her to please help find a man and then she disappears. When Harper finds the man, Chance, and together they go to the woman, his ex-wife, they find something they never expected. His ex, murdered and a child…his child.
Now having to juggle his appurtenant gambling, learning how to be a father and finding his ex-wife’s killer, Chance finds himself falling for Harper. Together they have to fight for something they never expected to have, all while fighting for everything they have ever known.
This story was very refreshing and unique to me! I don’t think I’ve read anything quite like it before. The romance is sweet yet still manages to be sexy and while the suspense is there it doesn’t over power the whole story. I really liked these characters, even though they could be a bit trying at times. I kept finding myself wanting to reach in and strangle one or both of them for fighting it. They definitely kept me on the edge of my seat!
Overall Winter Swans is a fun and easy read. Even though I haven’t read the two previous books, I didn’t find myself getting too lost in unknown details. And while this book is a very quick read, it’s not lacking in anything. Except it could use a little bit more steam between Harper and Chance, but I still enjoyed it just the way it is. I’m very much looking forward to reading what comes next for these characters, especially Starling. I will definitely be going back and catching up on what I’ve already missed. If you haven’t read Danica Winters yet, now is the time.
This is the third book in a series and although I don't like reading books out of order, the synopsis intrigued me enough to give it a try and I wasn't disappointed.
Harper is in town to settle her sisters estate after her untimely death and seems to be faced with more questions than answers. Nothing is making sense, strangers are confronting her and looking for aid, her sisters life is nothing like she expected and before she knows it, she is drawn into a world of danger, secrets and and conspiracies. All because she found herself attracted to a nomad poker player, Chance is not her usual type but she is drawn to him. Can they help each other and get out of their predicament alive while protecting his daughter from her mother's killer?
I thoroughly enjoyed this one, it took me a little bit to get into it but once I did, I had trouble putting it down. Harper and Chance were a little stand-offish with each other, their empathy and social skills were lacking but it fit them and their backgrounds. The suspense and the twists was what kept me reading, I was dying to jump to the end to find out what exactly was going on!
Although this book can be read as a stand alone, I was full of questions about what may have happened previously and what will come next. I would definitely read the rest of the series and I am looking forward to the next one.
Third in Danica Winters’ Nymph Series, Winter Swans is perhaps the strongest entry so far. Readers are drawn immediately into the mixed emotions of a grieving immortal who has lost her sister, and a high-stakes gambler whose wife walked out long ago. Threats and promise are immediate, with intriguing mystery and convincing drama as commitment-phobic gambler meets wary nymph. New obligations bring old emotions to the surface, and the dramas of fatal love take on even greater significance when the loved one is a grieving child. But even the child hides secrets in this tale.
Pleasingly intriguing, sensual without being over the top, and built on a fascinating blend of mythology and present day issues, this story launches the series onto a longer, more complex journey, and showcases the author’s skill at creating complete novellas within the framework of a growing series. Readers could start here as easily as anywhere else, but will almost certainly want to find out more.
Disclosure: I was given a free ecopy as part of a blog tour, and I offer my honest review.
This was another well written addition to the series. The characters were interesting and well developed and it had an exciting plot that I couldn't put down. One thing I did notice was that the first in the series is the only one so far where the nymphs have worshipped their goddess, I assumed they all would so the change in characters was a surprise. I like that all the books are connected, but separate in their way. It means when I start the next I'm never sure what I'm going to read which makes a change to some series out there where every book follows the same line. Its a great series and I would recommend it for people who want something a little different.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal) I really enjoyed this book. I usually read Wolf shifter books so this was a refreshing change. The author did a good job exploring the characters. However I don't feel Starling has come into her own, she is still very mysterious and guarded. Harper and chance were great and well written. I believe this is not the first book on the series however you would never have known, I found it very easy to read from the onset. Thank you for the opportunity to review this book! Linz x
I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.
Harper is a Nymph shifter who shifts into a beautiful swan. Not all Nymphs shift into swans some shift into different breeds of horses, snakes and different animals. Not all Nymphs are good but most are. A Nymph can't fall in love or the person they love will die. Nymph's cannot get pregnant either or have not in a long, long time. Nymphs have a curse that keeps them from getting pregnant. Nymphs are not supposed to be able to lead a very happy life or that is how it seems with the curse that was placed on their heads.
Harper runs into another Nymph at her sister's funeral. Nymphs are not supposed to die but her sister Jenna did and Harper has no idea what happen but she is determined to find out who killed her sister. While at the funeral she talks to this other Nymph who knew her sister. This woman Carey says that Jenna was going to help her find a man which just happens to be her ex-husband. You wonder what kind of person this woman is to come to someone's funeral and ask the descendant's sister of all people if she will help her locate this man. Who is this woman? Why does she want to find this man? Why does she think that just because Harper is Jenna's sister that it is her place to find this man?
Well for some reason that she can't identify Harper feels led to help this woman so she goes looking for this man. When she finds him he tells her that the woman is his ex-wife. Harper takes Chance to this woman, Carey. Chance finds out that seventeen years ago after their divorce and their last fling together Carey had gotten pregnant with his child. Now he has a child to take care of. Chance has a lot to figure out now that he has a child to take care of. He has a big decision to make. Chance is a professional gambler and travels around a lot. So how is he going to take care of a child? Will he take her with him? Will he give up his carefree life? Can he give up the only thing that has always made him come to life, put a shine in his eyes? Or has he found someone or two some ones that is going to change his life forever?
Harper falls in love with Chance and his child. But she has her own life and job. How can she give up her job and her life for another person? She has learned to live with the Nymph's curse by always walking away before anyone fell in love or gets hurt. But this time with Chance may be different, this time she may not be able to just walk away. It may not be as easy as she thinks. She doesn't want to hurt Chance or his child but she doesn't see any way around it if she stays and allows herself to love him then he may die with the curse that was placed on her kind years and years ago. But how can she just walk away without fighting for her life. If she walks away from Chance then she is leaving her heart behind with him and to her that would be like giving up her life because now he is her life and she just may have to fight for what she believes in or wants. What will Harper do? Will she stay or will she leave? Can she just throw away the life she has created for herself? Can she walk away from love or the love of her life? To find out pick up your copy of Winter Swans today!
Winter Swans is the third book in The Nymph's Series and it is just as good if not better than the first two. I can't say which one is my favorite as I loved all three of them. I loved all of the characters in each of the three books and cannot decide which ones I loved the best. I can't wait and hope that Danica has plans for more of The Nymph's series and more characters waiting for us to get to know and love. I can't wait to see what other shifters are waiting for us.
Book 3, Winter Swans, finds us at the funeral of one of the nymphs murdered in Book 2. Jenna, the deceased, and her sister Harper Cygnini, had become estranged several years prior, completely losing touch until the ill-fated phone call confirming Jenna's death. As Harper is greeting people, a woman comes up to her requesting help. Even though the venue is inappropriate for the asking of favors, Harper takes the picture of the handsome man that the woman thrust at her, promising to help locate him. She's also consumed by the eerie presence of Dr. Redbird as the funeral, as well.
Being Jenna's heir to her assets, Harper enters Jenna's home to assess the actions needed to clear it out and sell it - too many memories and large feelings of loss prevent her from wanting anything to do with the home. After turning on the tv for some background noise she looks up at the screen and right into the eyes of the man who's picture she was given that morning.
Chance Landon is a world class poker player and he just happens to be in town. Harper seeks him out at the casino with the news that Carey Jackson is looking for him. Carey Jackson is Chance's ex-wife of 17 years and for her to be contacting him ruffles his feathers, but he tries to call her anyway. After not being able to get a hold of her, Chance enlists the help of Harper and they go to Carey's apartment where she is dead and he discovers that he has a 17 year old daughter named Starling.
Little does Harper know that finding the man in the picture is going to pull her into a game of cat and mouse - or nymph vs. evil doctor. She will be faced with significant dangers no only to her person and Chance and Starling, but to the secret order of nymphs, as well. She also has to deal with the consequences of falling in love with Chance, which could very well spell death for him due to the curse.
What a twisted installment of The Nymph series. I loved every aspect from the mystery women being rude at a funeral all the way to the newest nymph, Starling, and her abilities. The action and suspense pulls in the reader and keeps them engaged. There are several story lines that involve Chance as a poker player, Starling and her abilities, the strange deaths of nymphs, and the fact that Carey, also a nymph, was even able to get pregnant.
The chemistry between Chance and Harper is undeniable but both are stand-offish, each for different reasons. There is a secret that Chance harbors; one that could shake up the entire nymph order. Harper was written very well as a sister in mourning having to deal with not only her sister's life - and the bad things that she had been involved in - but with the new found nymph that must be protected at all costs.
Oh, and by the way.....there's a mild cliffhanger in the epilogue!!!

Five stars for Danica Winters' sexy, suspenseful, and absolutely enthralling Nymph series
I hate to admit that I became lost in a series, but I did. I really did. I received a copy from the publisher of Danica Winters' Winter Swans, the third book in her Nymph series, and just had a feeling that I should read the first two books as well. Ms. Winters was gracious and kind enough to share the first two books with me and then I became lost as I began to read…
The third book in the series, Winter Swans, opens with a funeral of one of the nymphs found murdered in Montana. Harper, the deceased nymph's sister, is beseeched over the coffin by a fellow swan shifter nymph to find a man in a photograph. Harper sees him on her television set in an ad for a poker game, searches him out, and soon they are heating up my Kindle too.
Chance finds himself to be a father of a half-nymph daughter that he didn't know existed for 17 years and soon, both he and Harper are involved in searching out the murderer of his ex-wife. Along the way they have to deal with teenage and nymph issues of his daughter, irate loan sharks, some gambles that might not pay off, and pharmaceuticals that may or may not be legal.
This series by Winters is highly inventive and she has created a very believable paranormal world of nymphs, demigods, and other shifters. I highly, highly recommend that you purchase all three books to read. Although you could read them as stand-alone novels it's just more interesting if you are informed by what has transpired in the previous books as recurring characters are woven in throughout the series.
I'm now looking forward to the next book in the series, which I hope will follow Chance's daughter as she searches for answers to questions raised by her mother's death and her need for pharmaceutical help.
Do read this series, but make sure you plan to do so over a weekend or when you can be assured you have plenty of time set aside as you're not going to want to put these books down once you start.
I must say this is another fine addition to this series and really enjoyed reading more of this series. This one opens up more answers to questions about what was going on and further goes into with different characters the mysteries surrounding the murders. So enjoy good intrigue with romance it spices it up and keeps me riveted to it while making it harder to put down when having to do something else like work. Very appropriate beginning since I have read previous books in this and now meet the sister of Jenna that was killed-Harper. It seems that in this one as in previous books that each siblings were estranged one way or another so they became easy targets for the killers. At the funeral though another soon to be mystery approaches her Carey to introduce herself and in that event will spring forth whole new path she will go down that will lead her into contact with Chance who later will discover he has a daughter to take care of that Harper will help with. Just because her sister's murderer was behind bars does not mean the danger has stopped or the killings being it is much bigger than any could of imagined. That is why I say that this makes for great reading because of the intrigue that keeps going filled with answers sure but mysteries still appear to be solved. Chance also will be a challenge that even though she tries to resist love will have a different direction for Harper. Then there is the little girl-Starling who will turn out to be one unique individual herself one that others will want also. Chance himself is a player poker that is and life has been from one game to the next. What skills does he have for being a parent that will need to protect his daughter also but only the desire to do so is a great beginning. The flow of this novel takes you along to each escapade that they encounter together until there is no more running from each other too. The building relationship between the three is some good reading. One of the characters who turn out to be a bad guy is a nice surprise also who gets brought to life by greedy actions. So enjoyed this and look forward to any more from this author in this series. Received a arc for a honest review LOP(Lovers of Paranormal)

REVIEW:
Winter Swans is book 3 in the Nymph Series (Crimson Romance)but can be read as a stand alone.
And although I havn't had a chance to check out the other two The Nymph's Labyrinth and Montana Mustangs, I definitely had no problem reading this one.I am just starting to get into more of the paranormal romance's and I like how danica takes the paranormal and keeps it in a real setting with pretty much normal..well you know people.
"Harper stood at the head of the casket and shook hands as people passed by, never looking her in the eyes. There were no words to express the sadness that filled the room. This didn't happen. Nymph's rarely died."
I could relate to harper.. the loss of her sister.. Danica hit the nail on the spot with the emotions on losing a loved one.. Of course i hate it when there is a cliffhanger at the end, but at the same time being in a series I almost expected it to end that way, after all it leaves us wanting MORE.... And I defenitely want more....
Winter Swans. Book 3 of The Nymph Series. Danica Winters. Arc received via Netgalley. I loved the idea of this book, and though its book three and I’ve not read one and two I’d looked up their descriptions, and thought I’d be able to follow the story enough to enjoy it. In that I was right, it was easy to work out how the characters fit together. Each book is about the Nymphs, but though there's some crossover they are standalone novels in that they have a resolution that fits that book. Anyway I plunged in eagerly but... I just couldn't connect with the characters, they seemed so cold to me. I know there were reasons for the way they are, but it was difficult to like them when some of their actions were just – well – harsh and unfeeling. Some of the things Harper says to Chance are quite abrasive, and he's not looking at things from her view either, but being very judgemental. It made it hard for me to care about what happened to them, and though they are involved in some deep and dangerous mystery I felt detached from it. The plots and actions of those involved in the mystery too just didn't ring as realistic for me, but quite odd, fiction means the truth can be stretched but really – would those people have done that? That’s what kept flitting through my mind. The way the action was so slick too – it was like “here's the problem, oh – bam – its solved” there didn't seem to be much build up to the suspense before it was over. Maybe if I’d been involved with the books from the start I’d feel more close to the people in them, but this novel just didn't work for me. I didn't enjoy though book, though its well written and other will no doubt feel differently. I didn't hate it – just didn't enjoy it. It's priced at £3.29 for 198pages. Stars: just two – and I hate writing that as so much work goes in to a novel, but I’m sure readers who like a different style of book to me will enjoy this – its just a personal thing that I didn't.
This series has been great!! Some of it borders on instant love, but the conflict of the curse along with the murders in book two have kept it from being the same ole instant love that you find in so many paranormal books!! Mrs. Winters has a knack for plot twist and keeping the reader interested!! This book does pick up just shortly where book two left us. However instead of being in Montana with the loved characters there, the reader is thrown into the lives of the sister of one of the murder victims. What starts off incredibly sad quickly becomes very mysterious. Was there more to the Montana murders than what we realized? And who could be doing such awful things? Winter Swans comes with the quick realization that someone out there knows the secrets of the nymphs and the aren't on the friendly side! Also a new young Nymph, Starling, brings shocking new discoveries that thicken the plot even further.... (I had to say at the reading of the will I was curious,... Descendants ?? *spoiler removed*). Between Chance and Starling this novel is filled with secrets and suspense. Harper is a very relatable and love able character that fills her shoes perfectly. I am in awe of how well these novels have been thought out and put together!! If the start of this book feels repetitive, keep reading!! (There are a lot of new revelations in this one so it shouldn't feel too much like the first two!) the end of Winter Swans makes Savannah Sacrifice a MUST READ!! I can't wait :) You probably could read this novel without having read the first two, but I would highly recommend reading the entire series! Each novel lays down more background and sets the stage for what's to come. Overall this series has been delightful. I would recommend these novels to anyone who enjoys, paranormal, greek myth, mystery, and romance.
**I received a free copy if this novel in exchange for an honest review through good reads LoP group!!**
This is my favourite Nymphs story yet. There are so many different elements to it that you cannot help but become enmeshed in the in depth story that Winters presents to us. She takes her writing to an entirely new level yet maintains the same consistently well written style that we’ve come to know and love.
Winters’ descriptions paint a very vivid picture of a world that you both want to live in and want to avoid. This amazing world is so riddled with tragedy that you can’t help but want to be there, especially when you can picture yourself walking alongside the characters. Winters also plays with emotions to draw the reader in and to highlight specific elements and events.
I love the way that Winters develops her characters in this novel. Each one of them is individually developed to provide insights into their lives and their personality. They contrast and complement each other in very unique ways. Winters doesn’t just give us a pair of main characters, but rather a family, however atypical, to carry the story forward. I also appreciate the fact that when the author brings up characters from previous novels she jogs your memory as to who they were. There isn’t a full development, both because we’ve met them before and they play minor roles in this particular tale, but she does make sure that you can easily remember who they are.
Overall I would fully recommend this novel (and the series as a whole) to anyone who enjoys the paranormal and some romance. Winters’ unique take on a little written on sect of the paranormal is quite easy to find yourself lost in and is a brilliant way to spend a few hours.
Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Yes my young friend, yes it is. A little touch of a love story that left out the most yucky of parts.
It is a cute book and I am giving it that third honorary star because I started not with the first book but with the third. I have to give it to the author that there was probably some extra character building that I just was not a part of. This was set as a stand alone, I would say read the first one first.
A curse, a child and a battle. Some most excellent building blocks for a great story. Why only three stars?
I had a real hard time buying the Nymph take on the story. I was super excited, not much out there about nymphs. She was to calculating, to involved with her career (at least in her mind) and had no sense of adventure. You didn't see the nymph come out unless she was trying to get her way.
I mean, bravo, go fay, but I was looking for so much more.
Yes there was a little romance. I ended up loving Chance but just in comparison to Harper, what a B. I think Starling was my saving character. She was kinda tough, just coming into her character (looks like the next one is from her POV? That would be good) and she showed a touch of passion for her other form. It rounded out nicely, no cliffies here, obliviously some room for a continuation of the series but not bad.
I won't continue with this series, just not what I expected. But those are the dangers of expectations!
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)
I received and ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. Even though I haven’t read the first two books in the series, it wasn’t really necessary; this could be read as a standalone.
This was a story about Harper and Chance trying to see if they are willing to take fate into their own hands, and also trying to keep Chance’s daughter safe. I really liked that Chance was a poker player and at some points Danica went into what Chance does. It was a nice change from what is the norm for men in romance.
Harper and Chance have this instant chemistry, but there is a curse hanging over their heads. A curse that could be deadly if they were to fall in love with each other, but that’s not the only thing they have to worry about. After Chance’s ex-wife was murdered, he finds that he has a 17 year old daughter, but someone is after her and he needs to keep her safe.
Chance works with Harper to help keep Starling safe, but they are both having troubles keeping their hands off each other. Will they be able to keep Starling safe, and take a chance a start a relationship. Or will they both part ways once Starling is safe?
Danica does a fantastic job with keeping you on the edge of your seat, guessing what’s going to happen next, and keeping you interested in Harper and Chance’s relationship. She doesn’t focus too much on their relationship so that, that’s all the book is all about. I will be looking forward to reading the other books in the series, as well as, others from Danica Winters.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the Author and the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on Goodreads.com
I enjoyed Winter Swans. It was a very quick enjoyable read. This book works very well as a 'stand alone', it doesn't matter if you haven't read the first two books as the tie in to the other books is minimal.
Harper has been pulled into a dangerous, mysterious and intriguing situation when she meets a woman at her sister's wake and is asked to search for Chance London by this woman.
Harper accidentally manages to find Chance and there is an instant attraction between them but Harper must be careful because of the ancient nymph curse. I like Chance. He is a gambler living life on the road with not too many worries. Until he meets Starling.
Starling is Chance's daughter who is seventeen years old and has just recently entered his life with her own set of secrets. I felt bad for Starling because her life is not going great and it doesn't look like it's going to get better any time soon.
I think my favorite character in this story was Kodie, Chance's gambling buddy and best friend. He has a great personality and I think he added a bit of humor to the story.
If the mystery is ever unraveled it could change the lives of nymphs everywhere. It's a mystery that people are willing to kill for. There are several plot's and twists in Winter Swans. This story left me with several questions so I am assuming (or at least I am hoping) that there will be a sequel.
In Montana Mustangs, Harper Cygnini's sister Jenna died, murdered by men trying to breed smarter horses. Wrought with grief, and guilt that she wasn't there to save her sister, Harper meets Chance, a professional poker player. Chance is a drifter, never one to settle down. When they find his ex-wife dead, he learns that he has a daughter. Can he fit the girl into his drifter lifestyle? When a one night fling, feels so strong, will he be able give up cards and settle down? How will the Nymph Curse affect their relationship? Who really killed the girl's mother, and do they have something to do with Jenna's death?
I really liked this book. The only thing I didn't like was the end. In this series, the books are almost stand-alone. The next book may mention the previous books, but it doesn't continue any of the story really, and this book ended with a slight cliffhanger. The story needs to be continued, but the next book, if it follows the series pattern, won't pick up where this one left off. So that struck me as a little odd. Other than that, I loved the characters and the strength of the relationships between them. Parts of this book made me laugh so hard, so while I am rating it a 4, it's a high 4.
I think this third book of the series has been my favorite so far. While it took me awhile to get into the book I wasn't disappointed when I continued. For some reason, I think her two other previous books in this series took me awhile too.
The main characters who both has a unique background was pretty interesting itself. Winters portrays her characters really well that you can't help but feel drawn to them. She also paints an avid picture of the background that you can't help but imagine as if you are there. The added suspense was killing me that I couldn't help but continue to read even if I wanted to put the book down.
The relationship between these two characters I mean three was written at a right speed that made me love them more. Although I felt like hitting Chance and Harper with both their stubbornness and denial towards their feelings for each other like in the previous book. Speaking of the other characters we also get a glimpse of them on this book which I really liked. Despite this can be read as a stand alone I liked knowing the previous books of this series but it doesn't affect reading Winter's Swan.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 unicorns - I loved it!!! ** Received the ebook as part of the book tour for an honest review
The cover is definitely a beautiful scene.
The mystery and intrigue continues in the series. Danica does a great job with adding mystery to her paranormal romance series. I loved this one just as much as book 2 though in this one she did make me cry a couple of times, but I love emotional rollercoasters :) Again I read it in one sitting :)
This story is about Harper and Chance. While I’d rather have a mustang than a swan, the thought of flying is pretty cool for a shifter. I love how she makes the mythology unique because it makes for a great story where you have no idea what is going to happen next, and now we have more than just nymphs. You will have to read the story though to see what happens.
I can’t wait to read book 4, so Danica please hurry and write it :) I recommend this book to anyone who already loves the series as well as those who love paranormal romance with mystery.
I was given an E-Copy in exchange for an honest review
Winter Swans is book 3 in the Nymph Series (Crimson Romance)but can be read as a stand alone.
And although I haven't had a chance to check out the other two The Nymph's Labyrinth and Montana Mustangs, I definitely had no problem reading this one.I am just starting to get into more of the paranormal romance's and I like how Danica takes the paranormal and keeps it in a real setting with pretty much normal..well you know people.
And I definitely want more....
After reading The Nymphs Labyrinth(book 1) and Montana Mustangs (book 2) I wasn't expecting Winter Swans (book 3) to be as good as it was. In my opinion the first two books just barely make it as 4 star books because I was expecting so much more. I really loved Winter Swans though and would give this book 5 stars. All three books have a story about a different shape shifting nymph. I loved the characters in Winter Swans the best. Winter Swans begins with the funeral of Harpers sister who dies in the second book. Even though all stories have different characters with their own story they all pretty much connect. I'm really hoping there will be another book about Chance's daughter really soon. These book are all good but I would only recommend them to adults because there is a lot of sex.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange foe my honest review. Goodreads: Lovers of Paranormal.
Once again, Danica Winters failed to bring forth the full potential of this book. Like I've said in past reviews, I love the concept but the storyline is continually dull and cliché. After reading 2 other similar stories, the love arc is beyond predictable. The emotion of the characters failed to transcend the words and made the writing very difficult to get through. I would have loved to see a bit more character development as well. It seemed as though too many characters were introduce without a more concrete background.
If you are to write a series, creativity is essential to keep readers interested. All in all I feel as though this book lacked effort or at least a bit more development.
First and foremost let me begin by stating that I received a free copy of the book from the author in exchange for my honest review (LOP R2R). Thank you
In Winter Swan we are introduce to Harper a swan shifting Nymph who just lost a sister to group of killers who wanted to reproduce a perfect specimen. Harper is heartbroken about the lost of her once close sister, Jenna, who she had not seen in several years. Harper comes into contact with Chance a handsome Poker player who stirs needs she didn’t know she had nor wanted. And someone who is making her question the life she thought she wanted; one of solitude and pure control. After finding his ex-wife dead in her apartment, Chance finds that he has a daughter; one he didn’t know existed and never thought possible.
**I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Lovers of Paranormal, LoP** This book holds some surprises that were unexpected. I love the story line. There are a fantastic cast of characters, which includes shifters to humans. Harper is an awesome lead. She has quite the soul searching journey throughout this book. Chance is a great character, flaws and all. I like how he is accepting with the way things unfolded. This is a great stand alone novel, but part of a series. The way the book ended left me wanting to follow the series. Overall, this book is a great read. Recommended.
Winter Swans: Book 3 of the Nymph Series (Crimson Romance) by Danica Winters Reviewed by: Anne Marie
Very good book! Love the twist in the plot and the way it is specific about shifter types! Totally unique! The heartwarming story of one families break and the ability to put the pieces together for 3 separate individuals makes for a feel good read. Mature read due to language and sexual situations, but it’s all tastefully written. You can empathize with all three main characters and where they are at in their lives, which makes it easy to get lost in this book.
I was given a chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review Lovers of paranormal. This book was well written. Characters had great personality. Its great how all three of these books tied into book one. Great author.
Chance and Harper's story is classic of the nymphs. My true interest is in Starling and her unique talents as a black swan and a medium. Next is what is in this safety deposit box in Savannah; and who is going down to find out?
