Eliza has a part time job to help her father support 5 people. Her brother-in-law doesn't work because he thinks he is too good for the available jobs. Her employer refuses to pay her this week because the employer's daughters broke a vase and blamed it on Eliza. George mentions his new scheme of helping women find husbands in the west and wants Eliza to be the first one. Eliza goes to a larger town that might have people looking for brides. She finds a letter she likes and she travels west to meet her husband-to-be. Unfortunately, Eliza finds more problems for herself in Kansas.

Stories about the Old West including those about mail order brides have always been interesting and some of my favorites. I'm sorry to say, this book was terrible.

There was zero character development, the story was all over the place and a nightmare to try and read. It was filled with childish writing, short, choppy sentences and in serious need of a proofreader. The poor excuse for a bedroom scene was just that.

A good story, but not the best editing.

The story line was good, ironic, but the editing was awful. The glaring poor grammar, wrong tense, wrong word really irritated the reader, me. I hope this was the fault of the book being made in electronic format, but I'm afraid it was just bad editing.

Another good one in this series

Another good one in this series

I really enjoyed this book as much as the others I have read in this series. They are a heartwarming account of life in the west and the things that happened with mail order brides.
