“In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.” ~Aristotle

Born and raised in Montana, immersion in the natural world around me was inevitable. As I grew up, I learned the complexities of language and the joy of humor by exchanging puns with my father. Just as Mark Twain said, “against the assault of laughter nothing can stand.” An avid reader, my favorite genre was science fiction by authors like Isaac Asimov and Frank Herbert and fantasy by J.R.R. Tolkien. Coming of age just in time to watch Star Trek, Star Wars and Babylon V, my love of science fiction grew and my desire to craft and share my own stories was ignited. And since, as Maya Angelou once said, “there is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you”, I became a writer.

When my wife Ellen and I became chilled to the bone in Montana we moved to Florida. Now we live in Hollywood with our highly intelligent cats.

“Science fiction writers foresee the inevitable, and although problems and catastrophes may be inevitable, solutions are not.” ~Isaac Asimov

About my books:

The Trophy Saga is pure science-fiction, action-adventure, written in the style of classic science-fiction. It is not fantasy. My action-packed books, based on scientific fact or theory, feature time-travel, chase and battle scenes, fusion powered star-ships, a computer-controlled society, tender moments and scary episodes. The Saga has a mature theme but is a clean read, suitable for younger readers.

Never in my wildest dreams did I consider that TROPHY would end in the direction that led to the final book of the Saga, TROPHY: DECISION. And I could not be more pleased with the results. The Trophy Saga has ended, but without introducing any spoilers it's obvious there are many new angles and situations for the next installment to make. I am also pleased with the growth of my original characters and with the addition of many new and complex ones.

TROPHY: DECISION, in fact the whole Saga, was written for the reader: to provide entertainment as well as food for thought and contemplation. I have tried to follow in the footsteps of the classic writers such as Isaac Asimov who tried to keep the science real or at least plausible on a theoretical level. The beauty of science-fiction is that it can present situations in a "what if?" format. The answers, even if seemingly far-fetched, must be believable. I have tried to accomplish this in The Trophy Saga and I hope my readers have found this to be true.

TROPHY: DECISION is my personal favorite of the series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Best regards,

After a wait for this third in the series, I was pleased to see a reminder of the details of books one and two. This book, although not as hard-hitting and the first, was a much appreciated in-depth look at the characters and their relationships. I was fascinated with the main computers' asking for meetings and her vulnerabilities. Am eagerly awaiting the publishing of the first prequel to fill in the life stories of the characters we have come to enjoy! Well done, Paul!
