For a beach bum who is raising a child that she hopes is also a beach bum, this was an enjoyable read. I liked that it captured a day on the beach so well - how different activities can only really happen at certain times of the day. I also like that the tone and colors got more soothing and calming as the story went on, which makes this one good for bedtime. Adding this to the rotation of nighttime reads.

When I saw Good Night Beach as the free title of the day, I was really excited because I wanted Emmett to get this from my mom this year. I really enjoyed this book, and it is much better than Good Night Seashore. If I was going to choose between the two books, I would buy Good Night Beach over Seashore. The only thing I didn’t like about this book is on the first page, it says “Good morning, salt air and big skies and bright sun.” I know this is a children’s book, but I am definitely teaching Emmett to not use ‘and’ like that because it is not correct, and it really bugs me. It is not that hard to use commas! Anyway, this book included crabs, starfish, and gulls as well as kids playing in the sand, with a ball, collecting seashells. I loved how the authors included watching the sunset and sitting by the fire, and on the last page, they showed some tired kids be carried by their parents. I can’t wait for Emmett to get this book, especially since he has already been to the beach.

The "Good Night" series is terribly generic, as art and as a story, but they at least find a few local landmarks to make it almost worth it. (See: Good Night Vermont)

But Good Night Beach? It's a beach. Same as any beach. Sand. Water. Gulls.

Do yourself a favor: buy a different book, or spend your money on gas money to the beach rather than bother with this one.

I have a whole collection of the "Good Night" series of books. The language is simple, the story is interesting for pre-schoolers and the illustrations are always well done. The kids love these books and always ask me to read them again.

I enjoyed reading "Good Night Beach" after a lovely day at the beach with two pre-schoolers. The story and photos depicted many of the things we were doing and enjoyed.

Normally books that are meant to be read out loud have a kind of rhythm and flow to them; this book had neither, making it decidedly not fun to read out loud. I did like all the types of greetings and all the different people and animals.

I personally find the writing clunky ("Hello, parents and brothers?") but my beach-loving tot obsessed.

It was in the condo I rented at the beach, and it was fitting for my last night there. 🌅

My brother reads "Good Night Moon" to my nephew every night. I got this book for my nephew to prepare for his first trip to the beach. They loved the book! It is a cute book with nice illustrations.

This was alright. I was expecting something more like Goodnight Moon. I think I would have liked it better if I hadn't been thinking that going in.

Love this book, as it has all the things I love about the beach in it. And we bought it in Chatham, MA.
