Apparently this is one of the books that Cold Comfort Farm is a satire on. I’d like to understand better the context of this novel: the jacket says it is in the tradition of ‘Precious Bane’. I’d be interested if anyone has a review/ article to share on this tradition of novel writing.
I enjoyed it, the use of vernacular was well done, and i liked the narrator.
