Skimmed to understand different cloud architectural choices, skipped the implementation tips.

Fluffy overview of the cloud landscape

This is not a architecture or design reference. The author skims over typical areas of a cloud platform and design without going into any real life design aspects. Good for managers and less technical people who need to understand the landscape but need not design or implement a thing at work. If you need a good vocabulary to talk about cloud solutions, this helps. If you are jumping into designing your cloud platform or solution, look elsewhere.

A good overview of cloud computing, and it contains good paradigms about building services on cloud.
You can benefit from this book, if you don't have fundamental knowledge or working experience about cloud computing.

A very good book to get an overview of cloud computing especially for people new to the cloud.
The book is balanced to allow non-technical readers to understand the concepts.

A good introduction to cloud concepts. Wanted to read something high-level enough to stop being an ignorant in this area and I do think this book is perfect for that. The book covers basic information about AWS but as you can imagine some of those details are outdated after three years from publication.

This book is a complete must-read nowadays. The hype around the cloud is over, we know it's here to stay and reading this book should be mandatory for every professional deploying apps in the cloud. Instead of focusing on "how to deploy X in the cloud", which is covered in many other technology-specific books, it conveys many other aspects that are often left aside like security, monitoring, auditing, disaster recovering, etc. And most importantly, the author never points to one platform, company or model as the undisputed best. Instead, he makes an incredibly thorough and objective comparison from many points of view, so that you can make an educated decision when it comes to designing your architecture.
