First let me start off saying.. I won this book from a giveaway. All books won this way will get a thorough unbiased review.

Have you ever watched a television series for so long that you felt like you were a character in the show? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a Special Agent in a vital part of the U.S. Government?

This guide was so involved in the details associated with the Counter Terrorism Unit that I often forgot I was reading a Operations Manual for the show 24. I honestly had moments of feeling and truly understanding what it must be like to be a member of CTU.

The book comes in a magnetic hard case and slides out to reveal a US Eagle Crest, giving you the feeling you're reading something above your clearance level.

This is the most versatile, comprehensive book related to the topic of survival, secret agents and more. Some chapters include;

• Working at CTU
Which covers everything from dress code to evacuation procedures.
• Gear
Covering agent supply checklists, firearms and more.
• Surveillance
Covering trailing suspects, devices and satellite systems.
• Undercover Ops
Covering what it takes to establish and maintain false identities, faking your death and going dark (off the grid)
• Combat
Oh! So much useful information and with real world applications.

Other chapters include the following, but you'll need to read them. I don't want to spoil anything for you.

• Interrogation
• Disaster Management
• A Detailed Appendix

I highly recommend this book to... Well anyone. If you hate the show buy it to learn to survive explosions and the likes. If you love the show buy it to feel like a member of CTU. If you are a government agent buy it to learn everything you didn't in spy class or to brush up on your phonetic alphabet.

Very informative. If you're a fan of 24 this book is for you. It goes over everything from training, to weapons/hand to hand combat, to how to conduct an interrogation of a suspect. This book was a 10/10.

If you are a fan of the show 24 THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU! Written in the style of a training manual you will go through not only the happenings in this action packed show, but will learn how to be an agent of the CTU yourself. The incorporation of photos from the show gives you all of the ends and outs of the Counter Terrorist Unit, which is a really neat aspect. The "manual" reads as if you are the one joining the team. Chapters in the book cover: Working at CTU, GERR, Surveillance, Undercover OPS, Combat, Interrogation, and Disaster management. Some of the sections in these chapters range from supply checklist, satellite surveillance, how to tell if you're being trailed, establishing a fake identity, how to fake your own death, interrogating suspects, and even how to treat a severed limb. Examples in the book all relate to the conundrums that Jack Bauer finds himself in and are laugh out loud hilarious. This book is pretty awesome and has the potential to appeal even to those who have never seen the show. In addition to the content of 24, it is a very nicely made book. The outside is a hard board slip cover with a raised number 24, and the pages are thick, glossy, and of high quality. I give this book a 4 STAR rating.

When this book showed up I was pleasantly surprised, I won this book From Goodreads. I watched 24 but I wasn't an avid fan. This CTU Manual has a box that the manual comes in that has a magnetic closure, My boys thought this was the coolest thing ever then they opened it and saw that it had a spy book inside and they told me I'm not allowed to give this book to anyone else. They both want it for their very own, if you have someone in your life that was a huge 24 fan this would be a great gift for them. I do think that anyone that ever pretended they were a super spy would like to thumb threw this book at least once. I personally entered the Goodreads contest so if I won I could give it as a gift to one of my friends who was a big 24 fan, seems like my boys won't let it leave the house though lol :)

Worth a casual glance by fans of 24, but that's about it. It's a well done and nicely produced gimmick. About half of the 200 pages are full page pictures from the show, with lots of additional pictures or varying sizes.

It reads like a manual, with lots of references to the 'Days' of the show and cited specific characters and situations, which take away from the handbook aspect. Most of the advice is very typical and basic from first aid to stopping a nuclear reactor using computer code....

A light companion piece to the show- only for fans.

This is a cleverly packaged fan-fiction work for lover's of the TV series '24' with Keifer Sutherland, complete with a warning that it is for "cleared personnel only". It looks like it came out after the 6th season, and may spoil some of the events prior to the seventh season if you haven't seen them. With the episodes available on Netflix and perhaps other sources, there may be continuing interest in the series.
