What could be more exciting than learning about dinosaurs? Creating these fiercesome creatures! Using the cool art of origami, readers will craft dinosaurs from just a piece of paper. Readers will be introduced to basic folding concepts as well as the bases used for many origami projects. Ranked from easy to hard, the projects are presented in an understandable, step-by-step format to help readers make paper diplodocuses and plesiosauruses, among others. Colorful pictures of each dinosaur, as well as pictures of each step of the process, complement the instructions, and captivating fact boxes enhance readers' knowledge with information about each featured dinosaur.
I very surprisingly liked this book! I don't care for dinosaurs or origami very much but I wanted to read something much different than what I'm used to reading (fiction!!!!). The instructional diagrams are quite clear and easy to follow (great for a kid who's just learning this art), there's not too much information on a page, and there's both a definition and an interesting fact for each dinosaur one creates. I liked it and know that artsy dino-loving kids would, too!
What better use for your reading skills than to make something cool? Make your own dinosaurs... out of paper! Amaze your friends. Make armies of dinosaurs. From very simple dinosaurs to an impressive T-Rex. For more great nonfiction for elementary school guys, see: http://www.talestoldtall.com/B4BENF.html
