Broken Headbone

Rate this book
Ginny McMath's first book allows you to join her hilarious, thought provoking journey of six women taking life by the balls when their husbands walked out with theirs. Broken Headbone travels into these women's brains as they find their way back to themselves, while revealing very personal stories that are wacky, warm and often outrageous! Laughing out loud in places, crying in others, you will find yourself thinking, "For God's sake, snap out of it!" From dressing up for kid's parties to apartment managing crack heads you can't help but wonder if they lost their minds along the way. A fresh, new voice in American writing, Ginny McMath shows us you can heal through humor and by putting one foot in front of the other, arriving at the realization your headbone may be bent but not broken.

I was laughing out loud for a good majority of the time while reading 'Broken Headbone', as what the women go through in this book was both crazy and all around funny.

Although a short read, the stories that Ginny Mcmath has assembled together in this book are unforgettable ones of self-reflection after marriage collapses and woes. I found 'Clown Porn' to be the funniest and my favourite of them all in here. Can something good be made out of bad luck? This book will make you believe it can, and since part of the proceeds go to Breast Cancer research, it's a great book to pick up.

This was a delightful book. Initially I thought it was going to be another chick lit story, but I was surprised to find a collection of stories that are not only exceedingly well written (and definitely literary fiction) but they are infused with humour, pain and heartbreak. There's a real feminist feel to them that doesn't overwhelm the reader, but instead shows just what strength is. It isn't who shouts the loudest, but who can survive the most bitter experiences.

I finished the collection and found myself reflecting on the stories. I can relate to so many of themes and experiences that I think this will be a book I definitely keep. Recommended without a shadow of a doubt.

This book is seriously funny! Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard at times that I got choked on my Hot Cocoa!

In all seriousness, this book is a really good read. The writing is superb, the characters are so well developed that they jump right out of the pages at you. You probably know some of the characters, I know I did!

It’s a super quick read, but it is absolutely jam packed with compelling characters that will not only make you laugh, they will also touch your heart.

If you’re going through a divorce, or have ever been through a divorce, or are even thinking about a divorce, get this book. You will relate to it, you will laugh with it, you will love it!

I didn't want to read this book because it looked
like a women's kind of book. But my girlfriend
insisted I would get it and probably laugh.

I did laugh out loud quite a few times but also found I wanted to smack myself a few times because I am a guy and these women were hurt by guys.
I would say she is a very effective story teller who tugs
at your emotions. You'll laugh and cry. Glad I read it.

McMath's book is entirely laugh out loud funny! It will prove to be an entertaining read for all. And, it contains divorce humor at its best. She teaches women (not exclusively) how to heal through the simple act of laughter. The author also grants us to look on the bright side of things every now and then and includes tips and strategies on how to keep headstrong. An easy read with a positive outlook!

Possibly the funniest - and most honest - book I've read this year!
