Rate this book
I was warned to wipe the last six months from my mind.
"Don’t think about him.
Don’t talk about him.
And, whatever you do, don’t write about him. If you do, he might come back," they told me.

Ghost hunting isn't always fun and games. Sometimes, it can be deadly. Paranormal investigator, Joni Mayhan, found out the hard way when she met The Soul Collector, and had to fight for her life. True story.

interesting piece of work.

I've read a few stories about hauntings and possessions, but I felt this was actually one of my favorites because it happened to a real person. It's not like it is in the movies, where it's sensationalized, even though those movies are always fun to watch. If you want to read a short book about a real life haunting, this might be one for you.

Eye Opener.

I must confess. I thought this book would read like many stories of the paranormal that seem superficial and lack credence despite their proclaims of being true. I could literally feel the fear you described and the utter depression you experienced when all seemed lost. The Lord God was by your side the whole time in the form of all your wonderful friends who never gave up on you. You were truly blessed. You just needed to realize this when you were ready. I loved this story. It was not only inspirational but also very educational. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us your readers. You and your family are in my prayers.

Scary and very interesting

Very well written and interesting true account of a ghost hunter. I think anyone who would plan to do paranormal investigations for the first time should read this beforehand and learn what steps to take to protect yourself spiritually before and after an investigation. I think it is very important to educate yourself about this, and the author explains it very well during the story and section afterwards.

Frightening with Purpose

This true story resembles a project manager's nightmare with set backs, failures, repeating work, and low morale. Join endured a terrible trial where a powerful negative entity isolated her and pushed her so far into despair that she almost gave up. The end of the book contains the lessons learned and how to have a safe and effective investigation. This is the second book I have read by Joni Mayhan, but it won't be the last.

I thought this book was creepy and it kept my interest. I admire Joni for putting her story out there. I, too, had to fight for my life in August 2015 against a demon. You never know what a demonic possession is like until you, yourself, go through it. I was scared out of my mind. It was then that Joni's book really hit home for me. I had another negative experience back in February 2019 when I received a scratch on my arm by something. The list of paranormal experiences is ever growing. It just goes to show that you're not crazy if something out of the ordinary occurs. Keep up the good work!

A decent read, a bit redundant at times, but overall held my interest. Many books of this type are written by attention seeking fools, which this author was not. Joni Mayhan seemed sincere, and her story rang true. The pictures of some of the sites she investigated helped to bring it all to life, and her experience did a good job warning anyone interested in chasing ghosts that it can be a dangerous thing to do.

This book is intriguing and I believe genuinely written. I have no problem believing in the supernatural aspects of this world. I also know that the dark side of the supernatural is relentless and unwavering. This is not written as a Christian stance, however it solidifies my trust in God and my faith as a believer. The author mentions something about how doubt can unravel any progress that has been made. (This is not a quote) I believe that statement.

Sorry to be harsh but one of the most boring and poorly put together books I have ever had the misfortune to read. The book has no pattern. It jumps all over the place. It lacks suspense, structure, interest. I would not want to go through what the lady went through but she just tells the story in such a plain way that you just don't care. Don't read unless you want to cure your insomnia.

I thought this book was fantastic. A true story, a real page turner...creepy enough to give you nightmares.
