Shadow Guardians

Rate this book
For Abigail and Dennis Webster it was supposed to be a quiet anniversary dinner out. Lindsey Maguire, a ruthless up-and-coming business executive, had things to do this night. For each this one evening will see their individual worlds turned upside down. Each will stand at the brink of eternity. For the Websters it will be a mid-air collision over a dark Puget Sound; Lindsey will run afoul of a vengeful subordinate as brutal as her. Unknown to them, or anyone of Earth, an alien race will intervene at the point of death to extract them. They are the fortunate ones. Or are they? Nothing will be the same again as they learn the horrible truth behind their existence. More immediate, they will have to learn to cope with each other as their altered existence lays bare the best and worst in the character of each.

I seem to be a late bloomer in the writing game, but most of my live I have always enjoyed putting pen to paper, even it was just doodling.

I am 57 years old, and with my wife Sherry we are both Air Force brats who found our ways to this part of the world (Lakewood, WA) from foreign lands with our families. She came here in 1968 from La Paz, Bolivia and I from Tehran, Iran in 1972. There would definitely be material from both those places for a story!

We have been married for nearly 37 years and both work for the State of Washington at a mental facility called Western State Hospital. I work with the criminally insane and she is a medical transcriptionist.

Years ago, I got tired of staring at four walls during lunch breaks and was also disappointed in the quality of some of the science fiction I was into at the time. The particular materials will remained unnamed as the authors used profanity and sexual encounters to spur their story lines on. I figured at that time I could do better and create a story that was just good, clean fun. And it was a blast doing it. For that reason, I also fell in love with the Star Trek and Star Wars series of books...they are just good, clean fun. But it doesn't stop there. Our genre is just full of good material.

That was the genesis of my novel, Shadow Guardians, written over twenty years ago and finally seeing the light of publication, thanks to Martin Sisters Publishing.

At the present time, I am a member of the Pacific Northwest Writer's Association.

Good first book

I was introduced to this book by the author Brett and his wife. Both very lovely people. This book is well written with a wonderful surface story. I would like to see more in-depth character development as the character selections are most intriguing.
I did enjoy the science behind the story and look forward to reading more of Brett's writing.
