Report of the Committee of ten on secondary school studies with the reports of the conferences arranged This book, "Report of the Committee of ten on secondary school studies with the reports of the conferences arranged," by committee, is a replication of a book originally published before 1894. It has been restored by human beings, page by page, so that you may enjoy it in a form as close to the original as possible.
This is an interesting historical document for a few reasons. It gives a good idea of what education specialists wanted to do with American education in the late 19th century by collecting reports from various experts on different academic subjects.
Probably the most noteworthy part of this report is the emphasis it puts on language learning and Classical Education. Of the 9 subjects discussed, 4 of them are languages, and several distinct sciences are all lumped together.
It was amusing that so many of these experts were arguing for more standardization when the report itself is so wildly nonstandardized. The reports vary substantially in length, structure, and content.
