Member since 2012 the first time. Please do not “friend request” me. I don’t honor this site, nor do I like to visit it. It is my opinion that GR has troll librarians who are conspicuous by their one star ratings, without ever bothering to buy/read the book. Nothing has occurred to change that opinion in over 7 years. I have books listed that are not supposed to be (never published) and a book that was listed for some time correctly is now missing and the toddler activity book listed in its place as part of the series. The titles are similar. The games never end. I have a very low opinion of this site, its owner, caretakers and policies. If you want to see my book listings and their true ratings look me up on Amazon.

The Carousel Pony by Judith-Victoria Douglas is a delightful story about the simple magic of childhood.
Sadie is a sweet young girl who wishes for a pony of her very own. Unfortunately, like a lot of us, she must settle for riding the carousel ponies at the local fairgrounds. Sadie's father is a photographer and is hired to take pictures of the new carousel ponies in order to make brochures. He takes Sadie with him on what turns out to be a fantastic day full of fun, imagination, and magic for her.
Kids and parents alike will quickly fall in love with this enchanting story. The illustrations are beautifully hand drawn and idyllic. The ponies are described in excellent detail allowing the readers to place themselves into the story with ease. There are lessons on the history of carousel ponies and a cast of wonderfully written characters. My favorite, besides little Sadie and her favorite pony Whisper, was Mr. McTavish. He was so very kind and patient and his gift to Sadie was very sweet.
This is not my first book by Judith-Victoria Douglas and I'm sure it will not be my last. My little one and I thoroughly enjoy the amazing adventures her books take us on and we very much look forward to our next.
The review for today is “ The Carousel Pony” by Judith Victoria Douglas. It’s a children’s picture book.
Sadie, our main character, is a littler girl who wishes for a pony of her own. Since that is not an option, her daddy takes her to a local carousel exhibit. There Sadie sees many lovely and interesting ponies.
Placing her on one particular pony, her father starts taking pictures. He has been hired to take photos of various carousels and ponies for a brochure to be handed out prior to the grand opening. When a particular pony winks at her she is amazed. But it only gets better when upon riding him the animal whispers to her. The adventure takes off from there.
This was a small delightful book with lovely pictures for the children to enjoy while reading this book or if it was being read to them. A good book to share with your child or grandchild that will enhance their imagination.
