I love this series. Some of them are very hard to find and command a high price. The pictures are clear and bright and the "clear pages" add interest. They are European based, so some of the species pictures are not native but the information is sound. Recommended, if you can find them!
I liked it because it had the transparent pages for 'layers' of a body that I was hoping to find... but it could be done a lot better. I am still searching for a better version of this type of book - I know I've seen some around - for introducing these concepts to a toddler.

This is among the best books that I've encountered for teaching young children about human growth and development, as well as anatomy--all in an easy-to-understand and read format. What's especially helpful is that there transparent pages that can placed atop the pictures so that the terms and processes used and described, respectively, are far easier to understand. Although most children by second grade could likely read this book by themselves, some terms might need to be explained. As such, in the lower grades I'd suggest that this be used as a read aloud for any lesson plan or unit about the human body, or anytime a question about such arises.
It's a good little introduction to the human body. The boys like the transparent pages. I remember an encyclopedia we had when I was a kid that had the same pages. My brother and I enjoyed flipping through those.
This book is great to use when discussing body parts. It is also a good way to introduce how the body works. I love the way the transparencies are used in the book.
