Sitting next to his cousin, Sasha Williams, was his business prospect, who had the most beautiful mocha face he had ever laid eyes on. 14 books70 followers Born and raised in Ohio, Kyra Gates became an avid reader late in life. After being encouraged to read a popular series she couldn’t stop. The only issue is that she continued reading the same series over and over again until her husband said, “Why don’t you just write your own book,” after writing her first book Walkers, a fantasy fiction romance that later turned into a novel she fell in love with creating her own alternative world in stories.
A few years later, her manager now close friend introduced her to Urban Fiction…wasn’t her favorite but from there she found African American Romance and is often not seen without her nose buried in her iPad or book. With two kids, a husband, a dog, and a successful youth volleyball program she has to find odd and creative ways to read and write; the bathroom and her car has become her sanctuary.
Soon after she began her first romance series Serenity which is based loosely on her own life’s situations a new part of imagination has opened and she hasn’t looked back. She’s not quite where she wants to be yet but is working toward that goal of one day being a nationally known author.
Her work includes, Walkers, Tortured Soul, and Infinity which is the fantasy fiction series Walkers. Her romance collection includes, Serenity, Is Your Heart Still Mine, Chocolate Angel, One More Night, and A Promise to Keep all part of the Serenity series. There are two more books coming to conclude this series.
Her latest series Harris Family Values includes All I Need Is Patience and coming soon Beautiful Storm, Cherish, Surrender, and Second Treasure.

This is the story of how two people fight the mental pain of the past to induldge in a loving relationship. Brandon has grown from Is Your Heart Still Mine into a powerful young adult and wants what his brother has. Little does he know that fate is about to bring him together with the beautiful woman Bridgett Mathews.
Bridgett left Florida thinking she was on her way down the isle. when that didn't work she tried again only for the unthinkable to happen (have to read the book to see what). But this situation made her the way she was but she couldn't fight the attraction she had toward Brandon even though he was a bit younger than she was.
I simply loved the story, the chemistry was amazing between Brandon and Bridgett. When I read Serenity I always wondered if her friends were going to find love like she did and Bridgett did. It seemed as though it was a long time coming for her but at the end of the road she got her prince charming.
This is a must read and you don't have to read the other two books to follow it.

One of my favorite stories as Brandon Wells is my favorite leading male character from all of my books. I loved watching Brandon grow from the shy little brother of Christopher Wells (Is Your Heart Still Mine) to this sexy, young self assured successful CEO. His transformation was amazing and I loved telling his story.
With that said, honestly, i couldn't have done this without Lea Ellen Borg my editor who edited chocolate angel. This is the first book that I've had edited which made it so much more. Thank you.
I hope you all will enjoy Chocolate Angel as much as I did writing it. It is currently available on Smashwords. It will be available on Amazon after the holiday.

Good
This story was a nice long read. The story was believable and held my interest from start to finish. Editing was needed to smooth out the formatting issues and the rough edges. Brandon and Bridgette's story was a fun lighthearted, sexy read. Not a lot of heavy drama. The back stories and characters were just plain fun. The love connection between Brandon and Bridgett was highly visible. Although the story had lots of characters, each had a purpose in telling this story. A solid 3.5 because of editing issues.

Brandon and Bridgett initially met when they were younger. She hit his brother’s Ferrari with her mother’s car. She fled from the scene after giving him a fake phone number, and they met again when she moved back to Florida. He was the CEO of Wells Circle Cosmetics company and she was the CFO of his cousin, Sasha’s, company.
I like the story, but there were many people in it, which made it difficult, at times, to keep up with who was who. Brandon or Bridgett were not looking for a relationship, per se, when they were initially introduced. Little did they know that they had developed a really good friendship while playing a video game online, using aliases, of course. Through the course of their conversations he eventually figured out who she was and created a game, in which she tried to guess who he was. He declared, in the process, that he was interested in seeing her on a regular basis and that intrigued her, so she continued to guess at who he might be. He revealed himself to her and they embarked on a relationship. It was when they established their relationship that her hurtful, abusive past tried to come back and haunt her.
Brandon was injured in a car accident (that really wasn’t) thereby causing him to be in the hospital for several days. That was when the true nature of their enemies was slowly revealed. Brandon and Bridgett will both have to confront people from their past in order to move forward with their future.

When you go back and red something you wrote years ago you see the mistakes however I am still proud of the idea and the story. Brandon was a force to be reckon with mess with his family and all hell will break loose. Bridgett will stand by her man no matter what. She may have not always made the best choices but when she decided to take a chance on a love she couldn't live without...
