Have you ever been curious about the Fetish scene? About having the attention of the hottest deadliest vampires out there, all out for your pleasure? Well, Sara lives that life daily. It’s normally good to her, but one night the delicate stability in which the entire scene balances blows up in her face, and turns her world upside down, until she doesn’t know which way is up. Her boyfriend Gene senses her disquiet, and turns his attention to where her veiled interests now lay. Loren is a rich cultured four-century-old vampire, who has his sights set on Sara, and has made it his prerogative have her at any cost.

I was born in Vancouver Canada—this is why half of my books are written in Canadian/British spelling. I moved to New Orleans, LA in 2012 to be with my husband and kids. We have six dogs and eight cats. I have two toddler honorary nephews. And a house full of people.
Life is hectic in the Kinsey household. But we wouldn’t have it any other way.
I am an experienced freelance Ghostwriter, Editor/Proofreader and Graphic Artist. I adore fantasy, paranormal and contemporary stories and art.
As I am a fantasy/paranormal romance author myself. I understand, on a cellular level, what it takes to catch a reader's eye. I have been a published author since 2009, under the pen names Kayden McLeod and Kinsey Knight. I have released over fifteen full length books and short stories. Although, there is only eleven currently in circulation. Over my career, I've touched on almost every step of publishing, from conception, to fruition.
I have marketed my own books, and as well as others'. I have owned a book review company and ran my own marketing firm that catered to both authors and publishers.

I wasn't sure that I'd like this book. I'm not a fan of short pieces, and even less of serial type stories, but I didn't have a choice. Kayden McLeod grabbed my literary throat and refused to let go until I was utterly and thoroughly in love with Sara. The first installment of the Blackbourne Coven trilogy, Lost has all of the elements that make for one hell of a riveting plot: love, lust, sex, and angst to name a few. Throw in a seemingly tough as nails, drop dead gorgeous male with the capacity for love that transcends time and bloodlines, and you've got a recipe for success.

In spite of its size - just seventy-five pages- Lost is jam packed with enough action and emotion, that frankly you'll be surprised that you've reached the end. Sara is a strong woman, who's tough exterior belies the profound sense of sadness she feels at her perceived lack of usefulness to those around her. She follows the rules set by her vampire coven and their ruling body, the council, believing that she's more of a bother than she's worth. I loved her vulnerability, and I loved even more that there was someone out there that realized what she was all about. Loren, a hunter from another coven, was everything Sara needed in a partner. Watching the warm, affectionate, play between them was a nice change of pace from the grunting, monosyllabic alpha males I've come across lately. Make no mistake; Loren was fierce and deadly, he just reserved his softer side for the female he's come to love.

Lost was a complete "win" for me, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes their erotic romance with a decidedly paranormal twist. I'll be reading the back catalog Kayden McLeod has for the other covens, because I enjoyed this book so much.

I started reading Lost (Blackbourne Coven #1) by Kayden McLeod severely prejudiced while holding my nose and expecting another horrid 50 Shades and Twilight blend rip off. I was somewhat surprised to read an imaginative world with somewhat interesting vampiric characters.

A short novella rather than a full-length book Lost is thankfully a short quick read. I never would have touched Lost had I not received it for free. Because of the Twilight books, I avoid books such as Lost as much as possible. Lost isn’t a terrible book not like I expected.

The main characters are interesting enough to finish the novella, but not enough that I will pay for the next installments. The dialogue in Lost is smooth and easy to follow. Had it not been for the good dialogue Lost would not have been even readable.

The sex is plentiful and starts at the first page. There is an orgy, partner swapping, multiple partners and other swinging/swapping sexual acts mentioned. There is no lesbian or homosexual sex in Lost but one lover does lick a female lover while another man pleasures her from behind. The sex is graphic, but not to the extent of word porn. For some the sexual acts in Lost could be erotic, but I found the sex acts rather plain and unimaginative; perhaps I am jaded.

Regrettably McLeod has followed the tired KU policy of breaking a book into three (or more) pieces. Offering the first part of the novel for free and then asking readers to buy the following portions works for some authors and not for others.

I will not read Lost again, nor am I likely to read anything else from this author. If I somehow received another book for free from this author I might read it or not depending on my reading queue.

★ Just too blind to see ★

—>>> All around good story with really supportive secondary characters. Do admit to seesawing between liking Sara and becoming impatient with her at times. As a powerful vampire, it was still not easy, it seems, to deal with someone like her boyfriend Gene. Loren is a gentleman and knows how to treat her like the true treasure she is. Did appreciate the informative Vampire’s Vocabulary included at the beginning of the book!

This is a short steamy (a lot of steamy hot scenes) paranormal romance. Sara life as she knows it will never be the same when Loren a 4th century old vampire decides he wants her. A well written quick read that is nicely paced with an intriguing story line
