With an approach to life that is somewhat unconventional, she prefers to fly by the seat of her pants rather than adhere to some rigid roadmap.
Her lack of "plan" has resulted in a rather interesting and eclectic resume, which reads more like the fiction she writes than an actual employment history.
She'd tell you all about it, but the statute of limitations hasn't expired yet. But all those crazy twists and turns have led her to a career she loves—writing romantic comedy.
When she isn't filling pages with sassy and sexy characters with attitude, she's living her own reality show in the 'burbs of Melbourne with her American husband, two teenage children, and her fur child—Woodley.
She loves adventure, to laugh, travel, and strives to live her life to the fullest.
0 stars. DNF at 50 %. Review completed January 19, 2014
In a nutshell: Clichéd and shallow to the nth. Cheesy cardboard writing. The heroine is an annoying cow and the hero isn't anyone to write home about either.
I will deliberately refrain from dropping the f-bomb or any other filthy language in my review except for a few gifs because Lexi's filthy mouth is bad enough.
As I saw it, the plot was all over the place in the beginning of the story. Lexi picks Matt up at the airport and the cheese starts to flow. FYI, Matt is not the hero.
"Sorry, Lexi." His low gravelly voice caressed my name, sending a shiver right to my core. "I'm Matt," he crooned, his smooth accent rolling off his tongue like morning dew off my windscreen.
I'm stunned that Lexi is still alive after having endured so many shocks of electricity.
I pulled my hand away from a shock of electricity and spun on my heel, leading him (Matt not Alex) to the parking garage walkway.
And a couple hours later she's already daydreaming when she hears his voice behind her. No, scratch that. She wanted to jump his bones before she even met him.
"A truer word never spoken" I heard it from over my shoulder…that voice! I didn't need to turn around as I could see from Anna's wide-eyed expression and open jaw that Matt was standing directly behind me. Mmmmm I'd love for him to take me from behind, feel his strong arms reaching around and pulling me close to his strong athletic frame. "Mind if I join you ladies? he continued, oblivious to my hardening nipples beneath my jacket.
And then later on Matt turns her down and that pisses poor Lexi off.
"Why, is there something wrong with me? Are you not attracted to me?" I shot back indignantly. (…) Anger once again flared inside me, I was not used to rejection (Baba: Get used to it, bitch.) I was not a MISTAKE, nor would I ever be. How dare he! (Baba: How dare you? Ugh.) It had been a long time since a man had turned me down. (Baba: Someone should bitch-slap you. Any volunteers? Take me, take me.)
I was actually beginning to wonder when I would be meeting the "hero" for the first time. Would he be as disastrous as Lexi? Unfortunately, he didn't accomplish to make my panties wet. Then again I couldn't have cared less.
At 23 % Lexi sets her eyes for the first time on Alex. Within seconds the juice starts to flow.
I felt myself shiver with excitement just from the intonation of his voice. He could make me come just by looking at me; I could already feel my panties getting moist. "I'm Lexi" was all I could manage. (Baba: It's too bad when your wet panties accomplish to deactivate your brain cells. Tsk-tsk...) "Lexi. Well, it is a pleasure." He lifted my hand to his lips and kissed it. My insides quivered. Seriously, is it possible to achieve an orgasm just from a kiss? 'Cause I was pretty close right now.
Seriously?
Of course his face is astonishingly handsome.
Before Lexi met Alex there was a life and death situation and good ole Lexi had to contemplate how sexy the dude is. Did he work out at the gym? Come on! It's not realistic. *insert major eye roll moment*

"As for your generous compensation I can also assure you that I have never nor will I ever be anyone's WHORE so do NOT treat me like one," I barked.
I quote another one word for word.
"Oh I understand perfectly Asshole. I can see your posturing a mile away. I have been in this game a lot longer than you think. This is where you whip out your dick to show me how BIG it is…like that is supposed to intimate me."
Or this…
"So you need to deal with me directly from now on because I will not speak to this disrespectful motherfucker any longer, and if this doesn't suit you - then you can go fuck yourself. The whole lot of you can GO FUCK YOURSELVES." My disappointment at this insulting behavior of my idols was fueling my anger and I knew I was being over the top but I just couldn't stop. "Lexi, I didn't know…this isn't from us...Sol?! What the fuck man??" James was clearly confused about how this had played out but was quickly catching up. He grabbed my arm to try and hinder my exit.
Wow, I can't believe that she's a very successful employee. Lexi, before you open your filthy mouth you should try and start being a little bit more diplomatic. Activate your brain, think, do some research to clarify things and then speak like a civilized person. Lexi swears, spats, barks, growls, breaths, purrs, snarls, snaps, pouts etc. like a world champion.
Let me get something off my chest. A heroine who's swearing like a sailor isn't strong. If anything, she seems to gloss over her insecurities. She obviously needs to make up for other shortcomings regarding her character by opening her filthy mouth at all times. Lexi is blunt, crude, vulgar and choleric as all get out and completely unlikable. I should stab her with a needle and then she would deflate instantly like an old, wrinkled balloon. Excuse me for being blunt myself but she's an irritating and stupid cow who wouldn't find her brain cells in the darkness if several flashlights would shine on her. Lexi lacks some serious class. Plus, she's very fixated on physical appearances. She knows that she isn't ugly and yet she can't believe that she's beautiful. Of course she needs to work out harder cos she isn't satisfied with her hot body either. Lexi, get over your hang-ups already and I'd appreciate it if you could shut down your giggling. It's getting on my last nerve.
It had been fast and frenzied and I'd never had sex fully clothed before. It was HOT. I pulled down my hem.
What a revelation. Do I care? Nope. BTW, poorly written sex scenes are a turn-off.
I'm not a native English speaker, yet it is very obvious that A Twist of Fate needs major proofreading and editing. Someone needs to take care of spelling errors, missing words etc. Two examples: intimate me should be intimidate me and barley should be barely. And what's up with all those multiple exclamation marks (i.e. FUCK YOU!!!) and question marks (What the hell?? Was he gay??) and all those words written in capitals (i.e. HATE, FUCK, FUCK YOU, INSANE, KNOW, WHORE, NOT) and weird noises like Mmmmmm…Aghhhhhh…Aggghhhhhh, Ahhhh…Ahhhh, Uggghhhhhh, Ooooh, Ohhhhhh baby…ahhhhh? Basically there are way too many exclamation marks. All those things are very distracting and downright irritating.
Reading this book was a very bad twist of fate and a waste of my precious time because nothing appealed to me. Once again my bum secured itself another window seat in BoredomVille. Add in the fact that we took a turn into Sugarville as well and I might be inclined to place a standing order. Not. The author's writing is extremely amateurish and stilted. Lucky me, I got it for free. Looking at the very high average rating, A Twist of Fate goes straight on my shelf books-everyone-loved-but-baba. Read at your own risk.

I read this book after seeing the review K.M. Golland wrote. She is one of my favorite authors and I have read several of her recommendation and have for the most part been happy with them! I'm impressed with this debut novel! To be honest the first four chapters I was really questioning if I was going to make it. Push past that and it gets better.
Lexi is a no-holds-barred PR agent. She's sassy and ruthless when it comes to her job. She is also a shameless slut, which would be refreshing if she wasn't so cocky! In the beginning there is a scene where the author makes it sound like Lexi has never been turned down, REALLY?!?! I call bullshit! Also, she's supposed to be a professional and having a reputation for humping everything that moves really conflicts with her work persona. It was not believable.
Lexi is driving home in a rain storm when a car crashes. Being a badass she saves a kids life, his whole family is eternally grateful which includes his Power Station family. Power Station just so happens to be one of Lexi's all time favorite bands! Enter Alex; sexy, sweet, and smirky (the trifecta!). The guitarist for Power Station is a flirty and head over heels for Lexi. Can Lexi work past her damages and can Alex wait that long?
"How could I have not seen this? You guys are perfect together!" "Yeah perfect pains in the ass"
What I loved: 1. Alex and Lexi text messages! 2. She's a insufferable flirt but it makes for the best banter! 3. Her friendship's. 4. It was so refreshing to have a woman with some experiences who (thinks) she knows what she wants. 5. The author is descriptive which makes it fun. She totally needs a Pinterest page for this series!
What I didn't love: 1. Already mentioned, but really Lexi needs to be taken down a notch with her cocky attitude. 2. The relationship development with Matt was way too fast, it had my head spinning. 3. Story line included a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding, which is just so overplayed. 4. All the Mmmmmmmmmmm's and Hmmmmmmmmm's. Don't draw it out, it's annoying!
I don't know what happened between the prequel and this story or if they were written out of order, but this installment was much better for me than the first.
In this installment, we find Lexi, a few years later back in Melbourne working for a University friend in publicity and even planning. Her life is good. She's got good friends, a good job that she loves and has sex with whomever she wants, but still staying out of the relationship field. So when her boss, Kate, tells her that they are doing another exchange program with a US affiliate, Lexi is intrigued by the new talent coming into town.
Matt is a Texan through and through. But when Lexi comes on to him, he turns her down. This has never happened to her. Is she losing her touch? But what comes from this is the start to a life long friendship. Although they relentlessly flirt, it's all done in jest and good fun. Lexi even allows him to move in with her.
But one night on the way home in thunderstorm from working very late, Lexi witnesses a single-car accident. When when jumps in to save the passage, little does she know that he is none other than the little brother of the lead singer of her favorite band. Lexi steps in to help the band while they are in Australia and this leads to so much more in her career.
Lexi's form of straight talk and wanting nothing from anyone else, immediately endears her to the lead of the band and his bandmates. Even more to one in particular, lead guitarist, Alex Stone. They soon can't keep their hands off each other. At first it's just casual, but soon turns into so much more. In order to protect herself, Lexi pushes Alex away. Will this been the end of what could be an amazing new chapter in Lexi's life.
I really enjoyed this book. The interaction between Lexi and James then with Alex was priceless. I loved how she reacted with their lawyer tried to pay her off and how that turned Alex on. I thought the story that Alex told Matt about her first relationship and how it influenced who she was today was so heart wrenching to the point that she was willing to give up something that could be spectacular in order to protect herself.
All that to say, I really liked this one. Moving on to the next installment.

If you're looking for a strong female lead then this my friend is the book for you! Lexi is strong, hilarious and very witty. In between shaking my head at her, laughing my ass off at the things that come out of her mouth, I just kept thinking I really wish I could be her friend.
In a twist of Fate Lexi's world is turned up side down when she displays an act of heroism and saves a young man in a car accident. Little does she know that person she saves, is the brother to lead singer of her all time favourite band, Power Station.
James, the lead singer is forever in debt to her, and offers her a job as their PR while they are on tour in Australia. When Lexi accepts the job and meets the rest of the band, a game of cat and mouse is started with Alex Stone hot on her tail.
Alex Stone, 6'4, blue eyes, blond haired rocker. Alex is instantly attracted to Lexi as she is to him. They act on their attraction in a one time deal.
"I'm so tuned on right now, I can hardly speak. This is your chance to say no... Right now, I want to fuck your brains out but if you don't want this I will go down stairs and I will drive away."
Lexi and Alex can't seem to get enough and their one time deal becomes a secret affair that has some serious parameters set by Lexi.
No relationships Total secrecy No PDA No sleep overs. No phone calls.
With the rules set in place and the amazing sex. Lexi wasn't prepared for feelings to come creeping in. While we see the strong, hard as nails Lexi with her rules, we also get a glimpse of the Lexi who has her own personal demons as she tries to find a way to open herself up to the possibility of more.
I fought my feelings of jealousy.. I was being irrational, Alex didn't owe me anything yet, my heart felt like it had been crushed.
Lines start to get blurred and soon the rules start to get broken. Lexi's work life is excelling beyond her imagination and soon is offered to come on full-time as Power Station's PR. But while her work life is the best it can be, her relationship with Alex is moving too fast, soon she finds herself backing out too afraid to let him in. Pushing him away so she can't get hurt.
But will pushing him away be the answer to stopping her feelings for him? And how will she manage to cope moving across the world to work in close proximity to a man she could possibly love but won't allow herself to....
T.Gephart knocks it out of the park with this sexy, funny steamy read. I loved Lexi hard. At times what comes out of her mouth your left wondering seriously? But she really is a hoot. I loved Alex he was so not what I was expecting. You could see he struggle with being pushed away and you just fall harder for him.
While this is a trilogy, A Twist of Fate does not end in a Cliffy. It ties up nicely and leaves you with a smile on your face. And a slightly panicked state as to what could possibly coming their way. Bravo Tina.
AMAZING! Such a refreshing read. I loved, loved, loved Lexi! She is unlike most lead female characters. It seems that weak, naive, whining and annoying heroines have become the norm. So I was pleasantly surprised to find Lexi was none of these!
Lexi was a successful career woman who was driven, witty and outspoken. She was feisty and mouthy, saying what she thought without candy-coating it. There were a couple times I totally found myself cheering her on. As I said before she was not the typical heroine, hell she wasn't a typical girl! She played the game better than most men. She didn't have time for a relationship nor desired to lose control and become vulnerable to heartbreak, again. She was all about the no-strings attached relationships.
"I could play them like a well-strung guitar and when I tired of them, I discarded them and went on to the new flavour of the month."
Do to a twist of fate (totally fitting title, by the way) she met the band, Power Station. Which brings me to the best part, there was a hot rockstar, Alex. He was totally drool-worthy. The banter between Lexi and Alex was playful and enjoyable to read. I loved their texting back and forth. I found myself smiling as I read them along with Lexi. They were hot and steamy from the moment they met. They craved eachother. I craved them!!
".....he moved his head even closer as his lips skimmed the top of my ear. Involuntarily I shivered as my body reacted to his touch, the knot in my stomach tightened as I felt a dull ache in my groin. Damn it! Why did he have to be so god damn sexy!? For a second I lost track of where I was and what I was doing. I wanted him! I wanted to throw him down on the couch right now and take him and I didn't care who was watching."
Even though I related and understood Lexi, I was frustrated with a decision she made. It was one of those inevitable moments you know is coming. You know the type, the ones you find yourself yelling "NO, NO, NOOO!" when it finally happens. Honestly those are the moments I love, because the anticipation for the remedy I am hoping for is what keeps me reading. When an author can make me connect to the characters so much that I share their emotions, that is the epitome of a fantastic book.
This book is definitely one of my favorite reads of this year. The writing flowed smoothly. The story moved fast. The characters were well developed and I was pulled into their world effortlessly. I wasn't ready for it to end. I am thrilled Lexi and Alex's story will continue. I am anxiously waiting for the next book so I can dive back into their world.
At first, I wasn't quite sure about this since it started off slow but I definitely got into it once the 'band' was weaved into the storyline. It picks up from there. Loved the banter between Alex & Lexi especially their text messages. I was little disappointed in the drama that evolved around them since it seemed immature especially for someone who has a high reputation in PR. I figured she would have been better than that.
I'm still undecided if I'll continue the series, I was happy enough with the ending of this book.
How far would you go for love? I bought this book because of the cover. I'm so glad I did I loved this book. Lexi is an amazing badass PR with a huge company, loving life and living free. She is point blank honest and free spirited. Then a tragic night happens and her life is spun around meeting her favorite band of a life time. Alex is a badass rocker in a band and has the hots for Lexi. These two are perfect for each other and surely do make things hot in the book... This is a must read!
We are taken on an adventure with a gorgeous, successful, sexy, ever so slightly aggressive woman. No wallflowers and angst ridden pathetic ladies here! Surrounded by interesting and attractive men, she could have her pick. She HAS had her pick. Until fate intercedes.... This book would make a great movie adaptation.
Lexi is a loud mouthed, take no prisoners, tell-it-like-is woman. She knows what she wants and goes for it, everyone else be damned! Lexi was destroyed by a man when she was in college and has vowed to never let that happen again. She throws men away after one night like you would bad takeout and doesn't think twice about it. She isn't the "relationship" type and isn't afraid to lay it out for the guy without evening batting an eyelash. She has helped her friend, Kate from the ground up with her PR company, but is feeling the glass ceiling. After a long night at work gone wrong, she meets the one man that might be a bigger challenge than she can handle...or actually make her want what she has been running away from, a relationship.
"I was slightly unnerved by his loaded retort...it had been awhile since I had been challenged by a man. This was going to be fun."
Let's talk about the hot guitarist Alex!! A blonde, blue-eyed, God that has abs for days! Not to count the numerous ways to make a woman feel "good", if you know what mean!! He used to getting his way and he wants Lexi. Alex doesn't care in what capacity, he just know that he needs to make Lexi his. "I want you in whatever capacity you are willing to give yourself to me."
When Lexi meets her one huge crush from her favorite band, it's all she can do to keep her pants on. Once the clothes are off, it's on!! But Lexi wants Alex to know that their "encounters" are nothing more than that, "encounters." No staying the night, no feelings, no labels. Their "encounters" are HOT HOT HOT!! Slamming backs against the wall, hours long marathons that would rival any marathon runner!! Amazingly, they are able to keep their professionalism around the other band members and friends. No one else is the wiser of what's going on between them. The banter between Alex and Lexi through text always made me laugh. They had some of their best conversations sans texting. "Want to race?" Lexi xx "Are you insane? I'll be at your apartment before you hit second gear. I love your enthusiasm though. 10 points for effort! Alex xx"
Everything was going great until feelings got involved. Lexi doesn't want that and can't open up to Alex and tell him why. The character development was great and the interactions between the other band members made you love them just as much. Here's to hoping they all get their own story!! Can Lexi and Alex work the kinks out or will Lex's reservations ruin the best thing that has ever happened to her?
"I won't be hurt again. I won't lose my sense of self, be isolated, be consumed, be discarded again."
I didn't read this book until it was recommended to me by a friend who said she couldn't put it down. I read the synopsis and I thought to myself, “This sounds good,” but I didn't realise just how great it was until chapter 4. Chapters 1 to 3 were good BUT, from chapter 4, I was well and truly hooked. I loved Lexi from the beginning, probably because she was the woman I wish I was when I was younger, but as I got to ‘know’ her more and realised that she had so many layers, I LOVED her. Because I didn't read “About the Author” until after I had finished the book, I wasn't aware that her goal was to write a book with a strong female character. Well, I definitely think she achieved that goal. Although this was Lexi’s story, I also loved all the other characters (except Marcy). They all had an integral part to play in the book and not one character was superfluous. How could I not love Alex? I was pleased when I found out that the person I pictured for Alex was also the author’s muse, but that’s probably because the author’s portrayal of characters and her writing were so good. But Alex wasn't the only other character that I fell in love with. There was Matt and James and Kate and Hannah and Mike. Yes, there were more, but the best thing was how each character played an important part in Lexi’s life and each other’s. Even though I've mentioned the characters a lot, they were not the only strength of this book. I've already mentioned the connections between the characters, but the events were also connected and the whole story flowed seamlessly. I even found the chapter headings to be entertaining. When I said that I didn't realise how great it was until chapter 4, I forgot to say that it kept getting better and better from that point on. At no time, did I feel that the story was stagnating and not moving on. Like its characters, every event that occurred had a place in the story. I'm also very happy that I can start reading the next one “A Leap of Faith” straight away because I don’t want to wait. BTW, A Twist of Fate doesn't end with a cliff hanger. This was a book I could NOT put down willingly. I gave A Twist of Fate 5 out of 5 stars. Written by Karen from Confessions of a Bookaholic
I've had this book a while and hadn't gotten around to reading it. I read it now, as it was the featured book in a reading challenge by Kinky Book Klub. This is another book which demonstrates why I won't be changing my Amazon Kindle Freebie Whoring ways, it is an absolute gem and well worth shelling out money on, I will certainly be buying the rest of the series. In fact don't even bother reading the rest of my review, just get yer arse in gear, go buy it and get reading it, you won't be disappointed.
This book keeps you hooked from the very beginning. It has you shouting at your kindle "NOOOOOO, don't do that Lexi, give him a chance", then it has you shouting "Alex, NOOOOOOOO, don't do that ya bugger".
I absolutely loved this book. It was refreshing to see a really strong female lead, who took no prisoners. So why the 4 stars you might ask, well that's quite easy it is purely because I kept getting distracted by the spelling errors. There were two words that were consistently incorrectly spelt, 'intimate' instead of 'intimidate' and 'barley' instead of 'barely'. The whole sense of one part had me chuckling away because I was thinking "OMG, there's going to be lesbian action", and that is just something I don't enjoy reading, I don't mind if it's alluded to in a book, but I really don't want to be reading it. So I read the part again and realised that intimate should really be intimidate, PHEW...
At this point I haven't read the descriptions for the other books in the series, but I do hope we get to see more of the individuals in Power Station, hopefully there's a book for each of them along with a book for Matt.
I have to say Lexi is one of the best female characters I've read in a long time. Boy does that girl have balls, and she's not afraid to say what she thinks, unless it's to admit she has feelings, in which case she'll totally clam up.
There are a lot of great characters in this book, and they're all good people, and unlike her own family, they all care for Lexi.
Lexi has a path she's on, and thanks to the usual jerk from the past, she's refusing to want any part of a relationship. Most if this book is her not having a relationship, despite how much she obviously hurts.
The male characters are great, from her super hot but platonic friendship with Matt, to the joking and playful members of the band. This band don't come across like your typical band, whilst a couple of the band members do like their women it's nothing like the man whores you normally read about, they come across more like Lexi's brothers, and there's some great banter and innuendo between the characters.
There are lots of small humorous moments through the book, from Lexi assuming her new neighbours are swingers to her scathing remarks to Marcy (I actually cheered out loud at that one!).
I really enjoyed this book, half of which I read in the coffee shop, unfortunately a lovely old man came and sat at the side of me whilst I was reading one of the hotter sections in the book and it felt so inappropriate I was almost embarassed! It didn't stop me enjoying the book though.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable read that I gave 5 stars to, and I will definitely be looking out for more books by this author.
I was overjoyed to have a strong female character who was intelligent, independent and didn't measure her own worth on what men thought of her. She breaks entirely from the pathetically passive, shy, insecure, 17-21 year old women that are portrayed so often in romance novels. It was quite refreshing! The story is very entertaining and the characters are adequately developed. The language gets a little vulgar at times but it’s not excessive or trashy, and it’s in context. Overall, I loved this book.
The book was a very fast and easy read. Although it's a series, there is no cliffhanger! Thank you T. Gephart! I quite enjoyed Gephart’s writing, although the book is in desperate need of a good editing. I found numerous right spelling, wrong word scenarios, grammar issues, and missing punctuation. There are also some formatting inconsistencies, i.e. using italics, intention and dashes for text messages sometimes, but not at others. I knocked one star off the rating for it, but it won’t stop me from reading the next book. Actually, I'm really looking forward to the next book!
I must first start off by saying that I loved A Twist of Fate! The story was very engaging and unpredictable. Lexi is not looking for love, nor does she want a relationship. One night stands are her preference. Lexi has trouble with commitment because she was deeply hurt in the past. Lexi never thought that she would fall in love, but an unexpected accident changes her fate. Lexi is content with her life and loves her PR job. She never thought that the person whose life she saved would be the brother of the lead singer James from her favorite band Power Station. James declared that he will be forever indebted for saving his brother's life. This led Lexi the ability to meet Alex. Alex is the band member who she idolizes. Alex and Lexi love to hate each other, which makes great sexual chemistry, right? Once again, Lexi is not looking for a relationship especially with a band member who lives in the U.S. and is idolized by every woman on earth! Alex cannot accept her decision and is willingly to accept any type of relationships based on Lexi's terms. Is it good enough? You will have to read A Twist of Fate to see how this love story plays out.
I really liked this book ! The female lead Lexi is a refreshing change from the norm, she was straight talking, bossy and very funny and likes sex lots of it !!! Alex is a gorgeous sexy rock star who catches the eye of the straight talking PR exc when a twist of fate leads Lexi to her dream job ! I also really enjoyed Lexi relationship with Matt as she learns to trust people this grows into a really strong friendship, most of the second characters where interesting and would like to hear more from them in her future books ! This book is a little gem that is very well written and I'm so glad I found it !!! Going to read part 2 now !
DNF at 60% (and I have no idea why or how I made it that far in this book)
I wasn't a fan of any of the characters or the writing style. It was just all over the place. I finally just gave up on it all together. Had no interest to continue.
I started reading A Twist if Fate on a plane ride home and almost put it down again just as I started. It just seemed like not my kind of story. I didn't like Lexi at first. The whole beginning with Matt and her throwing herself at him I didn't really like. I don't mind ladies who know what they want and sleep with lots of men. I don't mind if that is what they want. I don't like when it is some way to fill a void or try and make themselves feel better about themselves. This is what Lexi did, and the way it was handled at first I just really didn't like. When you find out what happened to her she keeps saying how she is fine now, how he doesn't have any control over her anymore, how everything is fine. It is not. She is not fine. She keeps pushing away a real relationship and was emotionally detached, but she never really acknowledges that she is still not fine after what happened to her. I kept expecting it, and yes by the end she did change some, but she still thinks she is completely fine and he is not effecting her anymore. That was the one thing I did not like about this story. Though she did say she has baggage, but she still never really addresses how much it still effects her.
I quickly started to enjoy the book though. I really liked Alex and I loved how he and Lexi had their banter and they were really cute together. Alex tries to do whatever Lexi wants. You can tell he is head over heels for her and will do whatever he can to be with her and make her happy. They are so great together and I just wanted everything to be wonderful for them.
There are lots of parts in the middle where you are just like come on Lexi! You are being so stupid! But it was understandable for me why she was doing it so I didn't hate it. I just wanted her to get everything straightened out. I wanted her to be happy, and Alex makes her happy. I wanted Alex to have everything as well as he is just so perfect for her!
The ending was just so sweet! I loved it. I loved how Lexi finally figures things out and the way she confronts Alex was amazing. I just really like them together and I was so happy with the ending. I know there are a few more books in the series so I can't wait to read and see what they are about.
Lexi is a hard working woman at a successful PR firm in Australia. An interesting set of circumstances leads her into the job opportunity of a lifetime. As the new PR manager for a band she has loved for years, she quickly finds an intense and mutual attraction to the band's guitar player Alex. Due to her business relationship with the band, she and Alex keep their sexual relationship secret. This becomes challenging for both of them, as does their no-strings all-sex relationship.
I enjoyed Lexi's character a lot. While she can be a little over-the-top at times, she is an interesting and assertive woman who goes after what she wants all the time. She was in a very unhealthy relationship in the past that definitely helped to shape her future. On the positive side, it made Lexi strive to be a successful woman in a field she excels in. However, she is also determined never to let someone hurt her the way she was hurt before and the way she goes about that is by having only sexual relationships with men on her terms, and never allowing herself anything that could turn into real intimacy.
Alex is pretty much fantastic in every way. He is a very talented guitarist whose band is growing more and more in its international popularity. Alex quickly falls for Lexi, and agrees to a sex-only relationship since he wants her bad enough to take whatever she will give him.
There is a lot of emotion and angst as Lexi fights to sort through her personal demons and find a way to open herself up to real friendships and real love. I love the way that these characters came into each other's lives, and I loved to see how each relationship developed. I read straight through this book once I picked it up, and then immediately moved on to the next in the series when I was finished. This book was a very pleasant surprise, and I will be reading more by this author in the future.

I really enjoyed this book. I give it 4.5 stars actually! When I began reading it took a few pages to get into the story, then it really took off for me. I lost track of time while reading during parts of it. In fact this morning I woke up and picked up the book to read for a moment and two hours went by before I realized it! There were just a few minor editing issues but nothing that distracted from the story for me. At first I didn't warm to the character of Lexi, up until she and Matt began their friendship. After that, I began really began to like the character and the witty banter she had with Matt and Alex both. Alex is dreamy of course as the bad-boy rockstar and I liked how he had a tough exterior that hid his bottled up sweetness. The band members were fun with their snarky comments and flirty exchanges. Hannah was a great side character as well and I thought she and James were adorable. I became frustrated with Lexi at times and wanted to scream some sense into her but that's what makes a great story to me, when I can get emotionally involved that way. The ending party scene was a lot of fun and a perfect way to close out this book. I look forward to reading more from this author.
When I started this book I thought for sure it was going to be a two star book. Thankfully the author decided to step it up for the second half of the book.
Lexi was supposed to be this strong girl power character. Really she came off like a cocky, self absorbed asshole trying to be feminine. Thankfully her behavior was toned down and she was much more relatable during the second half of the book.
But to be completely honest, I think I fell in love with Alex and Matt and they are the reason this book got three stars. Alex is basically Alexander Skarsgard and honestly who is going to dislike that? Matt was a straight, but very sexy and charming friend.
I am really happy this book did a turn around and it actually intrigued me enough to make me think about reading the next book in the series.
An amazing book, say hello to a strong female lead and a storyline you will fall on love with. Lexi knows what she wants and doesn't apologise for getting it. She throws punches with he best of them and has herself and her career established when the book begins. She falls in love with a rock star and considering her career is PR he torylune isn't too far from unbelievable like a lot of other books are ( some nobody capturing the heart of a billionaire by being awkward, unassuming and a novice). Well done T.Gephart, absolutley brilliant writing!
How could you go wrong this book has everything and so much more; amazing characters, laugh out loud funny moments, a very ugly cry moment and more importantly the hottest scene I have ever read with a condom! You can not go wrong with this book absolutely incredible!

Great book. Its about Lexi who is a PR person for a firm in Australia and Alex who is a guitar player in a well known rock band from the US. Lexi says two men from a car wreck late one night and finds out its the brother of a man whose rock group was coming to town and he is her favorite band. They form a friendship as they get to know one another and she meets Alex. They are so much alike that sparks fly when they meet. This is a great story so I hope you take the time to read it

I saw a friend on facebook recommend this book and decided to pick it up. This isn't usually the type of book I'd read--but I'm really glad I did. I loved it. I love Lexi, I love Alex..I especially love them together. All of the side characters were also wonderful. A really well written and well edited book, I'm excited to read book 2!
A very easy read. I enjoyed Lexi the strong female character and the obvious romance but I really liked the development of he'd other friendships too. Especially with Matt. Loved it when she surprised him at the airport. Time with your best friend can really healing sometimes.
