دیکتاتور اتحاد شوروی ژوزف استالین یکی از رهبران قدرتمند و دیکتاتورهایی است که نامش در تاریخ ماندگار شده است. او در شروع جنگ جهانی دوم از نیروهای شوروی انتظار داشت که برای دفاع از سرزمین مادری خود تا آخرین نفس با نیروهای آلمانی بجنگند و چنان در این راه تعصب به خرج داد که هنگام اسارت پسرش توسط نیروهای آلمانی گفته بود: «احمق! نکرد خودش را با تیر بزند.» استالین در سال ۱۸۷۸ در گرجستان به دنیا آمد و مادرش علاقه زیادی داشت که او کشیش شود. یکاترینا - مادر استالین - هنوز امیدوار بود که پسرش کشیش شود اما استالین هیچگاه به مذهب علاقه نشان نداد و مادرش را به خاطر این که موجب دوری‌اش از خانه شده بود نبخشید. کتاب «ژوزف استالین» همراه با عکس‌های دیدنی، زندگی این مرد را از کودکی تا به هنگام وقوع انقلاب شوروی و سپس آغاز جنگ سرد و به قدرت رسیدن مطلق این رهبر بلامنازع شرح می‌دهد. ژوزف استالین در سال ۱۹۵۳ دچار خونریزی مغزی می‌شود. مرگ او یکی از مرموزترین مرگ‌های تاریخ جهان به شمار می‌رود چرا که اسنادی بعد از درگذشت او منتشر شد که حاوی دسیسه‌های مخالفانش برای برکناری او بود.

از اسم و عنوان كتاب كاملا مشخص بود آخرين صفحه كتاب به همچين جمله اي برميخوري:

کتاب خوبیه . به خصوص قسمت هایی که راجع به دوران کودکی و زندگی خانوادگی استالین داره .
یک کم زیادی استالین و بی پرده قضاوت می کنه و هی به جنایتکار بودنش اشاره مستقیم می کنه . نه اینکه من خدای نکرده فکر کنم استالین غیر از این بوده ولی لزومی هم نداره هی نویسنده بگه طرف جانی بود یا طرف آدم زیاد می کشت و .... مخاطب خودش می تونه بفهمه .
کلا با این قضیه که برخی نویسنده ها مخاطب و خنگ فرض می کنن و سعی می کنن یک سری حقایق و بلند و مستقیم بیان کنن و اجازه نمی دن طرف خودش نتیجه بگیره مشکل دارم .
ترجمه خیلی بود و بعضی جاها از انتخاب کلمات توسط مترجم هم شگفت زده شدم و هم لذت بردم .
مجموعا خوب بود

مرور خیلی مختصری بر وقایع طول زندگی استالین
لحن کتاب می‌توانست بی‌طرفانه‌تر و صرفا روایت‌گر باشد تا این طور در طعن استالین سخن گفتن.

یوسیف استالین (۱۹۵۳-۱۸۷۸م) رهبر دیکتاتور جمهوری های سوسیالیستی شوروی از سال ۱۹۲۹ تا ۱۹۵۳ بود که تحت رهبری وی، اتحاد جماهیر شوروی از یک جامعه ی رعیتی به یک ابرقدرت صنعتی و نظامی تبدیل شد. با این وجود او با خشونت بسیار حکومت می کرد و میلیون ها نفر از مردم این کشور پهناور در طول دوران حکومت وی جان باختند. استالین در خانواده ای فقیر به دنیا آمد و همین موضوع نقش زیادی در گرویدن وی در دوران جوانی به جریانات سیاسی انقلابی و همچنین فعالیت های خرابکارانه و شرارت داشت. بعد از مرگ ولادیمیر لنین، رهبر جنبش بلشویک ها در سال ۱۹۲۴، استالین تمامی رقبای حزبی خود را از میان برداشت و رهبری کشور را در دست گرفت.
بعدا از به قدرت رسیدن، استالین کشاورزی را به صورت یک جنبش اشتراکی سازماندهی کرد و مخالفان خود را به قتل رسانده، تبعید نمود یا به اردوگاه های کار اجباری فرستاد. استالین در سال های جنگ جهانی دوم (۱۹۴۵-۱۹۳۹ م) از متحدان ایالات متحده و بریتانیا به شمار می آمد اما بعد از پایان جنگ روابط بسیار پرتنشی را با غرب داشت که از آن به دوران «جنگ سرد»، بین سال های ۱۹۴۶ تا ۱۹۹۱، یاد می شود.البته بعد از مرگ وی در سال ۱۹۵۳ زمامداران جدید سیاست استالین زدایی از حکومت را در پیش گرفتند.

Many people don't know how the worlds most powerful and evil man in the 20th century came to be, but if the people who are curious about this topic, then they should read this book. The book tells the story of how one man's childhood can be altered from one dream to an another from just simple events in his life. The tile of this book is named, "Joseph Stalin: Dictator of the Soviet Union" the author is Brenda Haugen and the book is a biography of someone in the past. The book talks about how difficult and frustrating Stalin's life was when he was a child but also to the uprising of his power that came to be.

اگر از من بپرسند نظرت راجع به استالین چیه؟ بدون شک هرگز از خوبی های اندکش اسمی نمیبرم چون تمام دیکتاتور ها کارهای خوبی انجام دادند و همونطور که یکی از سکانس های فیلم #مرگ_استالین نشون میده صرفا برای عکس گرفتنه!
و با نظر نویسنده مبنی بر نشون دادن استالین به عنوان یک جنایتکار وحشتناک موافقم ...
دیکتاتور جنایت کار و سنگ دل روسیه که حتی به پسر خودشم رحم نکرد و باعث نسل کشی های زیادی شد ...مردم روسیه احتمالا عمیقا از اون تنفر دارند ..
اگر دنبال سیر تاریخی و بیوگرافی از زندگی استالین هستید کتاب خوب و صادقی هست.

A very short biography and easy read. I bought this book at a book fair last year, I think: fill up a paper bag for $10. I got my money's worth, certainly. I liked how the book was laid out, each chapter having a clear focus. Maybe because it was short, I feel like I got a sense for Stalin's life as a whole: a brutal man, driven by fear and a lust for power.

Joseph Stalin Dictator of the Soviet Union


Haugen’s Joseph Stalin Dictator Of The Soviet Union was a very deep book a bout how Joseph Stalin was. This was a great book to read for me because it told me things about Stalin I didn’t know.
This was not a funny book because of what Joseph Stalin did to people he killed may people which is not funny at all. Stalin was not a funny man at all he was very cruel and evil. He could turn on you at any second like an undomesticated dog. This book talked about how Stalin killed 1500-3000 people a day just in the city of Moscow. Stalin although cruel loved his mother until he left and she died because of separation from her son.
Thinking about what Stalin did to people made me not like him at all. This man was much more crueler than Adolf Hitler. I disliked Stalin because he never gave a person a chance to tell their sides of the story he just killed them. Stalin didn’t understand that if people didn’t like his way of government he would just kill them or imprison them for many years in Siberia. If Stalin were still around he probably would still be killing his own race.Stalin was very cruel that is why I wouldn’t like him as a character.
The setting is the Soviet Union from 1878 to 1953 . The book ends with the death of Stalin. The The book starts off in Gori,Georgia where Stalin was born and raised. Stalin later moved more into Russia. Later in the book Stalin goes to jail in Siberia for supporting Marxism. Mostly the setting is in Moscow where Stalin usually was.
In the end Stalin dies of a brain hemmorage and is embalmed and later buried with a cement layer so that no one could evr move him again. If I were to recommend this book to anyone it would be a person that likes to read biographies and History.I would give this book a 4 star rating because I liked the history and the loved how the writer put so much effort into it.If someone reads this books they might only need it for a day or so, so you might want to get another book with it.

A book that is a must-read for those who want to know about Stalin. It seems, although this is definitely up for debate, that he is worse than Hitler( considering that he targeted his own men and friends and not people who could be perceived as an outside force, as Hitler did with Jews). Surprisingly, people still think of him as a hero.

A good, informative book. Laid out the information in a simple and easy to read way. This should help me a lot with my assignment.
