Beacon: Part IV is a very nice continuation of Jonathan C. Gillespie’s space opera science fiction series. There’s quite a bit of action in this fourth installment and the book ends on a cliffhanger, taking the reader on quite a ride through outer space. As in the previous books in the series, the author’s descriptions of the outer space world he’s building are breathtakingly beautiful. The interaction between aliens and humans unfolds more deeply in this book and the reader becomes aware of some of the serious dangers and evil lurking in the farther reaches of space. With a firm grasp of the scientific realities of outer space, the author weaves fascinating fantasy elements throughout this realm. I look forward to reading the next book in this series!
