Killing JFK: 50 Years, 50 Lies -From the Warren Commission to Bill O’Reilly, A History of Deceit in the Kennedy Assassination

Rate this book
November 22nd, 2013 marks the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy... and at last we have the unbiased facts, concisely-presented by a skilled, acclaimed author who is also a credible voice: an ordained Methodist minister. Dr. Moore presents over 200 source-notes supporting a compelling case that the death of President Kennedy involved more than a “lone nut” assassin. He marshals old and new evidence to prove that there was indeed a second sniper, positioned in front of the Presidential limousine, who fired the fatal head shot. Moore points up scores of glaring contradictions in the government’s own Warren Commission Report as he explains the greatest crime mystery of the last fifty years with riveting, engaging prose.

Fifty years after the fact, the interest in JFK's murder and blatant cover-up has remained a very hot topic and a highly questionable issue. Debunkers have done their job in that anyone denying Oswald acted alone and who thinks the 'official' findings of the Warren Commission was a sham are either nuts or stupid. The only ones who are stupid are the folks who still think their Government is 100% honest with nothing to hide from the public. WMD in Iraq? If you're not with us you are against us? Bush and Cheney lied. Nixon lied. Why not LBJ, Hoover, & Allen Dulles? The complacency of the gullible with possessing a closed mind is a folly to injustice?

To quote a section of this book: 'If the Kennedys had not been shot, it is almost certain that LBJ and J. Edgar Hoover would had been out of a job by 1964 — and likely facing criminal investigations. The CIA would had been reduced in size, scope and secrecy. The mega-contractors and tycoons of Texas would had been poorer, and in jail. The Mafia would have been harassed further. The defense industry would had been shrinking. It was the "perfect storm." The very people who had the most to gain by Kennedy's death are the very people who left their fingerprints at the scene. Oswald, however, had nothing to gain. Fifty years later, fifty lies later, we have found the Patsy, the Sucker... and he is us.'

And sadly we are all still being led down this path...

Even with the US Government's later created House Special Committee on Assassinations, their findings were that a 'Conspiracy' did take place in Dallas, but did not bother or attempt made to take this finding any further with a more through investigation.

Too many discrepancies has followed that fateful day in 1963. This book lists 50 to study and investigate on your own. Read with a very open mind.

5 STARS

As a side note, it has now been sixty years and we the public are not any the wiser.

Lance Moore in his examination of the 50 lies reveal the Oswald didn't do the killing ,there were more than 5 shots fired, and there was a massive cover up by LBJ and Hoover and others. A must read.

As we march closer to the 50th Anniversary of the murder of John Kennedy, more and more questions are raised. What author Dr. Lance Moore sets out to do is to discuss 50 lies that have been brought to the light through the past 50 years. And, remarkably, Moore accomplishes this task very well.

If you consider yourself an assassination "buff" or amateur historian, many of the lies presented are a lot like preaching to the choir (no pun intended as Dr. Moore is a pastor). However, Moore does a wonderful job of presenting the case in layman's terms. He takes a very down-to-earth approach as he discusses each lie and presents a well researched case for each.

Also of note is the fact that Moore has researched the book extremely well including well over 200 footnotes from various sources to back up his claims. Moore concludes with a piece of scripture to sum up his case: "There is nothing hidden that won't be revealed, and there is nothing secret that won't become known and come to light." (Luke 8:17 ISV) It is the perfect summation of a well written book about one of the darkest days in American history.

Another of the hundreds of books on the JFK killing. This one raises some solid issues that have not been adequately addressed and because they suggest that there is, was and will be a government cover-up, they will probably never be answered. If this bit of history is of interest, then reading this collection of information is a worthy exercise. Now if only we could get some answers that could be confirmed. Still I recommend this one completely.

Lance Moore is a prominent member of a research e-mail group that I am also a contributor to. Lance kindly sent me a copy of this Kindle book as a gift on Amazon. Apart from that, this review is completely impartial.
'Killing JFK: 50 Years, 50 Lies' is completely in tune with my verdict on the coup d'état of 1963. '50 years' is a sad indictment of U.S. government responsibility for Dallas. '50 lies' has now become a very conservative estimate. Dr. Moore writes with passion and has a long interest in the case. A quick scan of the Notes section shows his wide range of references that have contributed to the text. As kindle books go, this isn't a huge tome, although I did take my time in reading over a few days. As noted above, I found that I was very much in agreement with the vast majority of the authors evidence. A few typos and one or two statements that I can question does not reduce the value of Moore's assassination almanac.
We all know the freeway sign is the Stemmons and not the Simmons. I can question the statement, "Hosty also destroyed the note from Oswald days before the shooting." There's also the odd contradiction, "Remember Oswald never asserted he was innocent; instead he announced he was a patsy." Yet deeper into the book we get "If he wanted glory/notoriety, why claim innocence after being arrested?" Another incorrect statement made is "No notes or recordings have ever been found of his two days of interrogation." While not being the finest piece of police procedure, we did eventually discover the so called Fritz notes. Which when deciphered prove even more lies and cover-up. I do have some minor points to raise regarding Oswald, particularly regarding his location during the shooting, but with such a multi faceted murder mystery that is no condemnation of the final verdict that 'Killing JFK' pronounces loud and clear.
It is tragic that after 50 years Lance has to produce his indictment of the Warren Commission, decades after Sylvia Meagher's 'Accessories After the Fact', yet such is the need to reply to the continuing deceit propagated by government and media. However, Lance's wish for the exhumation of the true body of evidence under the ground of Arlington may have to wait another 50 years.
A significant publication, certainly one of the better choices from the many books that arrived around the 50th anniversary of the killing of the most liberal, eloquent and hopeful 'world leader' there has been in my lifetime.

It was 5 days before my 2nd birthday when JFK was assassinated

And really I think that incident has clouded my whole life

My family that was 1/2 Irish Catholic were devastated a picture of JFK and the pope hung in every house

But it wasn't discussed it wasn't until my late 20s that I really became aware of the Oswald didn't do it theories and most of them were presented as crack pots

And now approaching 60 years I doubt we will ever really know the truth

The JFK assassination broke us as country it lead to the ingrained distrust of our institutions
It taught us that our leaders will lie to us "for the greater good"

So I read these books to look at all the holes and weird coincidences (Like LBJ ducking before the shots were fired) and sigh

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Just got this in the mail yesterday. After I finish a couple of books that I am into right now I will start it. Going by the back cover and by what I saw flipping through the pages...I am really looking forward to this one.

I am now starting the book and it looks good!

Update: I am about halfway through this book and it is very good. I like the author's sense of humor and his dry sarcasm. I am also enjoying the footnotes as well as the main text. This was a well thought out and written book that should sell well.

Second and final update: It took me a little longer to read this book than it normal. Not because it was hard to pick up (because it wasn't) but because of all of the references to other materials to go along with the author's ideas. I would check out a reference on youtube and before I knew it, I had watched an hour's worth of the Zapruder film or I would check out the released autopsy photos of JFK and be led down another path with many different sites offering up said photos. All of this is/was fascinating.

I didn't need Lance Moore to tell me that we couldn't trust the government (regardless of what administation had the majority) I already knew that. What I did enjoy about this book was the revealing of the extent of the "cover up". (I must use the word "cover up" loosely because at times it appears that the WC wasn't even trying to cover anything.) Specific chapters/lies that I enjoyed dealt with the "odd" fact that so many witnesses have died, Ruby's ties to organized crime, the dismissal of key eye witnesses, and for some reason the magic bullet. I read the description of the path the magic bullet had to take to do the destruction the WC said it did and I had to laugh.

Long story short (although it's to late for that) this was a good book and I really enjoyed it.

Great Read!

Great Read!

Moore laid his book out simply and was an easy read. Logic will find the reader emotionally involved in the fifty lies. I couldn't put this book down after number forty. it had me digging deeper into the evidence via the internet. Moore had me talking about the JFK assassination to everyone I knew. All Americans should read this book, and demand action to find the truth.

I have been chosen by Dr. Moore through GoodReads to be fortunate enough to have received a copy of this book. I have been interested in this topic since grade school and have read several books on it. I must say that this is one of the best books on the subject. Very well researched and gives plenty sources for you to check out on the facts of the case. Thank you Dr. Moore for this book.

More overwhelming evidence of conspiracy in the Kennedy Assassination. Again, all evidence points toward the supremely dishonest sociopath Lyndon Johnson as the mastermind.

A MINISTER ARGUES PASSIONATELY (IF NOT PERSUASIVELY) FOR ‘CONSPIRACY’

Author Lance Moore is an ordained United Methodist minister. He wrote in the introductory section of this 2013 book, “The sudden death of the suspect [Lee Harvey Oswald], and the conflicting press reports… prompted the new President. Lyndon Baines Johnson, to establish a Presidential investigation, now known as the Warren Commission. LBJ’s handpicked group spent a year investigating, only to conclude that just two bullets had caused half-a-dozen wounds on two men as well as damage to the car: ‘The shots which killed President Kennedy and wounded Governor Connally were fired by Lee Harvey Oswald,’ ‘who acted alone.’ This conclusion, however, flies in the face of nearly every page of their own 26-volume of evidence.” (Pg. 1) He continues, “Unfortunately, most of the books on the subject meander through five or six hundred pages filled with trivialities. Thus I offer this abridged version of the substantial facts… to offer a clear view of how our government and our media continue to lie to us… this report focuses on the key truths… I built these 50 points on the most indisputable, irrefutable evidence, much of which is found in … the Warren Commission Report (WCR). Considering the advantages these conspirators had in government resources, their cover-up was sloppy… The government and media has spun far more than fifty strands of deception, but these verified 50 facts will be enough to convince you: Oswald was not a lone assassin.” (Pg. 3-4)

He clarifies, “Not everyone was in on a murderous conspiracy. Some buried the facts, believing it was best for national security; some white-washed the failures of their particular departments/agencies for career protection; some turned a blind eye out of ignorance or misguided patriotism; some were duped by the nefarious conspirators; some had received physical threats and silently cowered in far. But in sum, the Commission showed little desire to tell the American people the whole truth. TRUTH was not their client. EXPEDIENCY was.” (Pg. 15)

He argues, “The location of Oswald in the sniper’s next rests solely on one man, Howard Brennan, and his faulty eyesight… All other evidence implicating Oswald is shaky and debated but even if we accept that the gun and bullets belonged to Oswald, that does not prove the gun was not stolen and used by someone else (especially since the conspirators’ goal was to frame him)… we have sound reasons to doubt Brennan’s observational and eyesight ability at that distance. I don’t doubt that he saw A man there, and I have no reason to doubt that he saw a gun-barrel extend out of the window. But we cannot accept that his long-distance glimpse of a shadowy figure would be enough to identify Oswald’s face.” (Pg. 26-27)

He suggests, “[Oswald[ was not, however, stupid. A smart (but lone) shooter would have not put six floors of distance between him and this target and trapped himself high in a building; he would have disguised himself; he would have used a better gun with an aligned sight; he would not have left his palm print on the rifle; he would have made an escape plan (Oswald had no car, no bag packed, and left his money on his wife’s dresser).” (Pg. 36)

He begins proposing, “Just as Lyndon Johnson was the only one the one who reacted simultaneously with the shots, he is also the only who had a different version of the events in his car. How did he explain this? By controlling the questions and answers. He never allowed himself to be questioned or cross-examined by the WC…” (Pg. 41) He continues, “Dallas Police Officer Billy Joe … Martin said that according to his fellow motorcycle cops ‘who were escorting [the Vice-Presidential car], he started ducking down in the car a good 30 or 40 seconds before the first shots were fired…’ Proof of LBJ’s foreknowledge of the shooting is also tied to a cover-up: LBJ’s lies about the events, Specter’s failure to ask the right questions of Youngblood, and the WC’s failure to include … the testimony of Officer Martin… Captain Will Fritz, head of the police investigation… received a call from the White House. The new President instructed him to stop the investigation and turn the evidence over to the FBI. He did…” (Pg. 44-45)

He says of the Zapruder film, “If conspirators could get their hands on the film, they could alter some of this---even with 1964 manual technology. This is the point at which many people balk at accepting a conspiracy, because it requires admitting that multiple agencies withing our own government collaborated to deceive the American people. I understand, it seems crazy. But it would take only a few agents in each agency o work out the subterfuge, not an entire department. The expert technical examinations of the film, and the on-site witnesses, point to no other conclusion---the Zapruder film was ALTERED.” (Pg. 65) Later, he adds, “The debunkers point to the Zapruder film as corroborative of the autopsy report, refusing to admit the common problem: both pieces of evidence were fully in the hands of government agents who had the means and the motive to alter it.” (Pg. 108) He also adds, “Some critics ask, ‘If the Zapruder film was altered, why does it still show evidence of a frontal shot?’ … The conspirators decided to be cautious, adopting a ‘less is more’ approach to the film. All they truly needed to do was delete a few key frames, and then paint a black spot… to disguise the rear exit wound…” (Pg. 111)

He asserts, “Even if the bullets could be absolutely tied to the Mannlicher-Carcano… that does not prove that Oswald FIRED the Carcano… Considering the strong evidence that Oswald was hired by the FBI to investigate illegal gun sales, even if he owned the Carcano, it means nothing. He likely had been instructed to order the gun for a gunrunning investigation, for the higher purpose of framing him… Even IF Oswald was the one firing the Carcano rifle and even IF the ballistics had matched, that does not preclude a fourth shot (coming from the Grassy Knoll)…” (Pg. 78-79)

He speculates, “Why did the Warren Commission allow so many medical discrepancies to get into the record early-on? Several reasons: 1. The WC had more pressing concerns… 2. The need to invent a Magic Bullet came late in the investigation. 3. … Readers must know anatomical terms and carefully decipher the doctor’s scribbling to see the blatant contradiction in the Parkland report and the official government/military autopsy report.” (Pg. 97)

He suggests, “Why was [Oswald] re-admitted to the USA so quickly and easily?... How did a so-called ‘nut’ like Lee succeed in the military to the point of working in top secret bases?... why was [he] …not considered a security risk by the FBI and Secret Service as they planned the motorcade route?... Only one answer single-handedly addresses these puzzling questions: Oswald was, at least for a time, a CIA contract agent and was being ‘handled’ by the Intelligence community.” (Pg. 122)

As for why Oswald would have killed Officer Tippit, and then resisted arrest, he contends, “set aside the grave doubts we have about whether Oswald killed Tippit. If Oswald had been framed, and suddenly realize he was being set-up by murderers, his panic in being chased by cops might result in his using a gun in self-defense… because he realized someone was framing him. And if he knew… that … some Dallas cops were crooked, he would have been all the more likely to pull a gun on a cop in self-defense. Remember, Oswald never asserted that he was ‘INNOCENT’; instead, he announced he was ‘a PATSY.’” (Pg. 118) Later, he adds, “it is possible that Oswald shot Tippit in self-defense while running for his life. Thus, it is bad logic to claim that proving Oswald killed Tippit would… prove he killed JFK… we shall see that the events surrounding the Tippit slaying point to another cover-up---not proof of Oswald’s guilt in EITHER murder.” (Pg. 136-137) He also suggests that an ‘Oswald double’ “shot Tippit in an effort to frame Oswald further---knowing that bullet casings would later be swapped in evidence to implicate Oswald’s gun…” (Pg. 147) He suggests, “If anything, the trails around Tippit lead to [Jack] Ruby…” (Pg. 154)

He argues, “The famous ‘backyard photo’ of Lee posing with those very guns and artificially holding a Communist magazine is thus explained: his handlers told him to make this silly pose/picture as part of this double-agent role…” (Pg. 167)

He wonders, “If Oswald was the assassin, why would he carry a fake I.D. into a situation where he very likely would be arrested in the presence of 50 people who knew him as Oswald, not Hidell?” (Pg. 189)

Why did the Kennedy family accept the Warren Commission Report? “Publicly, Robert, Edward, and Jackie Kennedy accepted the Warren Commission Report. But it was a political pretense. They were afraid for their own personal safety… Within the Kennedy inner circle, everyone knew it was a conspiracy. They suspected Mafia, FBI, and CIA involvement… Jackie blamed LBJ… they may have feared another ‘hit’ on a family member.” (Pg. 202-203)

He summarizes his thesis: “Who had the most to lose---in money and political power---if President Kennedy had lived another year? Who was driven by jealousy and narcissistic ambition? … There is only one name that can answer ALL of the above questions: Lyndon Baines Johnson.” (Pg. 232-233) He concludes, “Our concern now is… to ask the American people to lobby for the case to be re-examined and that more JFK secret documents be released, so that we might once and for all silence the ongoing lies of media and government.” (Pg. 244-245) He acknowledges, “Those of us on the ‘conspiracy’ side are not pretending to be dispassionate, inert historians; we are trying to be honest-yet-vigilant reformers who actively expose lies… So we conspiracy researchers make no apologies for being passionate in arguing our case…” (Pg. 252-253)

Dr. Moore too-often is excessive in his language; e.g., “The pages of the WC are not sharp and focused, they are a thousand dull butter knives designed to kill the patient---a patient named Truth.” (Pg. 54) “Physicist Luis Alvarez ran tests on watermelons, demonstrating that when a bullet hits a sealed fluid/matter, the fluid squirts out, causing a ‘jet effect’… The only human head analogous to a block of wood are the BLOCKHEADS who believe this sham science… sorry, I couldn’t resist.” (Pg. 114-115) “What is the purpose of such stupid and misleading statements other than to support official government propaganda? This is irresponsible journalism. It is the ABSENCE of journalism.” (Pg. 218)

Moore’s book is indeed ‘concise’; but he often fails on similar grounds to where he feels the WCR failed: ‘picking and choosing’ witnesses that support his point of view, without subjecting them to the same critical analysis that he subjects defenders of the ‘official’ theory to. The book is better than many JFK conspiracy books… but that doesn’t make it convincing, in many of its positions.

I was not impressed with this book and definitely not with the author. I did learn a few interesting tidbits but nothing substantial.
For such a cocky and egotistical man he really should have hired better editor's because at times the book is a real mess.
He loves the word 'obfuscation'...It's called a thesaurus...look into getting one.
My biggest issue is the constant sarcasm of the author. I don't mind sarcasm and quite enjoy it in the right setting but to me, this book is not that setting.

An okay look at the JFK assassination and many of the theories and conspiracy points surrounding it. The book could have benefited from some proper formatting, as the multitude of talking points blurred together. But this is an excellent primer of sorts on that important day back in 1963 - muchmore sanely written than the Bill O'Reilly opportunism of a few years back.

Easy read, well written. For someone who has not read many books on the JFK Assassination - this is a good one. I have an entire library of JFK Assas. books and videos. For me, this was pretty good. A few "aha" bits of information, but not a lot new. Bottom line though, Lance Moore is right on the money - as he disproves the most staunchest "Lone Nut Theory" advocates out there.

There is so much information in this book, if a fraction of it is true then we don’t have a lone gunman. I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist but as the years pass I realize we have been lied to on many issues. It is clear our government doesn’t trust the citizens of this country with certain information. If there is nothing to discover then why are the documents still classified or redacted? It seems to me if the government wants to regain our trust they would release all the documents of this case.

Consider a few issues pointed out in this book:
The magic bullet doesn’t make any sense.
Jack Ruby getting so close to the man who just murdered the President of the United States inside a police station.
100’s of witnesses and the incredible number of premature deaths from murders, suicides, and accidents.
Why is LBJ’s behavior so odd?

In my opinion, the book is worth the read

If anyone doubts that the JFK assassination was a conspiracy after reading this book, it is because they choose to think that way. The evidence in this book is completely undeniable and put forth in such a manner that any one can understand it. Mountains and mountains of evidence. The author dug deep and absolutely proved his points. So much so that it sometimes seems redundant. Well worth the time and effort to read but don't be surprised if it leaves you feeling less than impressed with our govenment.

I ever believed the Warren commission. Too quick to pass judgement.

Unbelievable coincidence to find and arrest Oswald very soon after the murder. The WC never seriously considered another suspect. It was too convenient, too cut and dried. Subsequent evidence is relevant and damning against the Warren Commission . It was a big lie.

Wooo. What I found by reading this is people do take a stand on how JFK was killed, and Lance Moore is one of those who argues his case vehemently. This book, in it's current format, is hard to follow unless you like reading a treatise. Read it, but painful to do so.
