Starting Over

When Kate Cramer's husband died in a helicopter crash, the timing couldn't have been worse. Not only is she six months pregnant with her first child, but their transport company, C-Breeze is near bankruptcy and she has no one to fly the remaining helicopter.
Rusty Russell, temporarily visiting the small Texas town, offers to help her out, promising to stay long enough to get the business back off the ground. His skills as a pilot, a mechanic and a salesman save the day, and as he and Kate work together, they form a strong bond of friendship...a friendship that was tested when he was at her side as her baby arrived.

Nine of these fourteen books were self-published in the romantic suspense, young adult and erotic romance genres. The remaining five published by Random House LLC as the Denver Heroes and Austin Heroes, released in 2015 and throughout 2016.
The author team are currently developing a new contemporary romance series (with a suspense backdrop) titled Breathless. High altitude, high stakes, and high romance, the series will begin in 2017 with the first book, Fools Gold . The series is set in Cripple Creek, Colorado.
Their young adult genre series, Time Shifters, is a time travel romance-mystery series. The fifth book in the award winning series, Not My Life releases 10.18.16.
Finally, their new adult romantic suspense series, Scandals, currently has the first three books released.
With two people developing ideas, plotting, researching, writing and editing, Kathy and Bob are both busy and productive. To be perfectly honest, Kathy and Bob would rather be riding horses, sitting on a sandy beach, watching movies or plays, and playing a round of golf every few days. But the voices in their heads insist on coming out, so they keep writing.

I liked the first half , but at some point the story became unconvincing :/

Second Chances
A distress signal from a helicopter pilot and floating debris on the surface of the Gulf of Mexico changes Kate Cramer's life.
Kate's challenges are seemingly insurmountable. Her husband Doug died in the helicopter crash. Their air transport company teeters on the brink of bankruptcy, which Doug had kept a secret. Without a body, Kate will have to wait seven years for a life insurance settlement. And she's six months pregnant.
James "Rusty" Russell hears about Kate's troubles. He thinks they may be able to help one another. Rusty is a free spirit. He's not ready to settle down, but he decides to stay until the company is more stable.
Kathy Clark's Starting Over is a beautiful love story, with a twist at the end. Her characters are realistic and memorable. My favorite character is Rebel. Rusty found him in an animal shelter. The dog loves soap operas and talk shows. Instead of burying bones, he keeps them by the front gate. He's as footloose and fancy free as his owner.

The story opens two months after Kate's husband Doug has been declared missing after his helicopter crashes in the Gulf of Mexico and she's 8 months pregnant. Kate hires Rusty to help with their helo transport business and to get the business back in the black. It seems that Doug was keeping a lot of financial secrets from Kate and now Kate is struggling with a failing business.
Kate and Rusty form a fast friendship and he proves to be a reliable employee... but is it too soon after her husband's death to be feeling something?
Told in the third person, I felt that detached me from relating to the characters.
I liked the storyline and how Kate has to find her inner strength to carry on with her life after tragedy.

Aaahhhh! Just what I needed! I love story with a few twists and turns, while still fresh, romantic and fun. The roller coaster of emotions Kate must endure during one of the most overwhelming times in a women's life takes the reader on a ride. I love Rusty and all his take-charge man ways, but also his simply loving, caring actions. Oh and Doug...well that was the biggest surprise of all!
Life is messy sometimes, but this couple makes it work. The prologue is sweet, but I want MORE! I want more of this couple their growing family, and definitely more HEAT! The author barely scratched the surface in the intimates area. Bring on the HEAT!!!

I am not too sure how I started to read this story but am glad I did. It was easy to read and had a good pace to it. Perfect as a holiday read or a break from heavier reading. Although the first half of the book is better than the second you will want to reach the end! This copy was provided for review by NetGalley and I am grateful to the author, publisher and them for giving me the chance to read it.

The book was good but a bit longer then I was expecting. I think more was needed in the end to help balance the book especially after the life changing news. Kate was nothing impressive but the story was saved by Rusty. Nothing really sets this book apart but if you're looking for a good afternoon read with a with sweet thoughtful caring man this book is for you.

The first half was really good, a little predictable but good. Kate and Rusty had such a great storyline, but then it just got a little dumb which then turned so far fetched that it was actually hard to read.

OMG, Doug was such an idiot. Rusty was one smart cookie and I am so happy Kate saw the light. This was a decent book and I enjoyed it so much.

I really liked this book. The story was touching and I loved Rusty but the ending just didn't do it for me. I wanted more after the big news.
