Samuel Langhorne Clemens, known by the pen name Mark Twain, was an American writer, humorist and essayist. He was praised as the "greatest humorist the United States has produced," with William Faulkner calling him "the father of American literature." His novels include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and its sequel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884), with the latter often called the "Great American Novel." Twain also wrote A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1889) and Pudd'nhead Wilson (1894), and co-wrote The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today (1873) with Charles Dudley Warner.

A charming, amusing story of why you shouldn't try to fix something that isn't broken. Twain's wit and humor comes through so beautifully in all of his short stories! I'm quite enjoying reading through all of them.

Խմբագրի մասին պատմվածքը լավն էր իրոք, չես հասկանում, որտեղ էր իրականությունը, որտեղ հումորը։ Խմբագրի վերջին մոնոլոգը՝ էսօրվա հայելի։ Կարդալ արժե անպայման, թեկուզ միայն էս մի պատմվածքի համար։ Լավ տղայի մասին պատմվածքն էլ է էս շարքից ։)) Էլեկտրոնային տարբերակն անվճար, երևի գիտեք որտեղից։)))

This is funny for the period when it was written. Now a days it’s the time of use and throw. So there are no repair shops of anything. People don’t bother for that.

The watch is like our life maybe. The more we try to fix it the worse it becomes.

It is a funny story. Nice read.

ساعت‌سازها نماد مردمی بی‌مهارت هستند که برای امرار معاش به ساعت‌سازی روی آورده‌اند و تخصصشان چیز دیگریست و باعث بروز مشکل در زندگی مردم می‌شوند. ساعت نماد وابستگی‌هاییست که حاضر نیستیم آن‌ها را معاوضه کنیم و بر تعمیر آن‌‌ها پافشاری داریم، ساعت چیزیست که زندگی ما بر پایه‌ی آن برنامه‌ریزی می‌شود و خراب شدن آن روی بقیه‌ی زندگیمان نیز تاثیرگذار است.

نمی‌دانم چه قدر می‌توان تشخیص استعاری بودن یک عینیت در داستان را بر عهده خواننده گذاشت و برای مثال تعیین کرد که ساعت در این داستان، استعاره‌ای است از چه و چه.
اما می‌دانم داستان ساعت من برای طیف تازه کتاب‌خوان و حرفه‌ای، در عین حال می‌تواند حرف‌های خوبی داشته باشد و به نوعی همه خوان است.

Don't touch it until it's broken. It's a pity preventive and predictive maintenance became widely known much later. I would like to know Mark Twain's point of view on this matter.
