--------------------------------------------- "Falling Hard" is a novella because it serves as the prelude to the full story of what happens to Veronica, Aaron, and Benard. The entire series is about the three of them as they face the challenges ahead of them. Each subsequent portion of the main story will release as a full length novel. ---------------------------------------------
Scarlet E. Rose is a single mom of a daughter who keeps her on her toes. She has lived in the same city her whole life, and loves it there. She has always wanted to be an author. Writing has been Scarlet's passion throughout her entire life.
"I remember writing books when I was little. I drew all the pictures for them. It was always a thrill." Now, Scarlet is happy to be living that dream as an adult.
I am not always a fan of books about princes and princesses but Veronica's Secret:Falling Hard is more than I thought it would be. The novella is about Veronica who has lost more at her young age than most. She lost her mother and brother and her father is quite ill. She is in love with a long time friend but with her father' s failing health and her brother's death she is next in line to be Queen. She realizes her freedom of choice is about to be over. She finds out that her father' s wish before his death is to see his daughter get married. Veronica will be required to marry a prince of her father's choosing to her dismay. And worse they have never met. I am interested in seeing what the outcome will be with her upcoming wedding and all that is going on in their Kingdom and outside the Kingdom. I really think the writing has been thought out well and I have been kept in suspense. I am really looking forward to Scarlett's next book.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review...
3.5 Stars
Let me start off by saying this story was very short and there were a few typos and inconsistencies...that being said, I really enjoyed it.
Veronica has to say goodbye to her long time love so she can marry a prince from another kingdom after her mother and brother are killed. She is heartbroken over losing Aaron but is trying to move on with her new fiancé. I have recently read a few books where the dialogue in the sex scenes was unbearable to read, thankfully that was not the case here...things seemed to move a little more realistically with these characters. Things were very fast paced and maybe I would have preferred a little more background or description here and there but I never felt like I was missing a part of the story. Overall all an enjoyable, sexy read and I look forward to reading the next installment.
Veronica has to give up her first and only love, Aaron. Since her mother and brother's death, she now has to step up and be the "heir" to her dying father kingdom.
Her betrothed is Prince Benard. He is handsome and kind. Can he help Veronica forget her first love?
When Aaron and his sister, Nayla's caravan is attacked on their way back home, Aaron is kidnapped and Nayla is killed. Only one guard was left alive to tell Veronica to come and save Aaron, alone.
Will Veronica be able to get out of her kingdom alone? Will she be able to save Aaron?
I was sent an advanced copy of this by the author for review.
This book, or should I call it a novella (?), had great potential from its start. The story of the protagonist is quite interesting. However, i felt that it lacked details. I was confused about various aspects of the story. The story as a whole was a little too fast paced for my liking, I think that if the author had taken things a little bit slower and detailed them a little more it would have been a much well developed story. I did enjoy it though. Thank you for sharing your first book with me, Scarlet, and I wish you all of the success in the world!
This novella has potential with an interesting story. It was easy and quick to read, but I didn't expect it to end up with a cliffhanger like this. I noticed a few gaps in time or changes of point of views which weren't announced. I was surprised at first to have so many different point of views but it made the book interesting. There was also chemistry during the steamy sex scenes.
Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and I would've been interested in knowing more.
**I received a digital copy through Netgalley thanks to the author and publisher.**
Falling Hard (Veronica's Secret) was a surprise and a delight! I was drawn in from the very beginning. Scarlet captured my interested with bold and daring characters and hot and steamy encounters. Can’t wait for the second installment to see what happens next!
Wow, so taken in with this story. I'm intrigued, yet excited of where this story will lead and the possibilities it possesses. I am on pins and needles waiting for the next book.

Well, this is a novella about princess, prince and evil things that threated the kingdom. Instead of marriying Aaron, the man that she loved, Princess Veronica must married Prince Benard of Yarinna to safe her kingdom. Veronica believed that she can't love anyone besides Aaron, but she might be wrong. When her faith of strong love starting to shaked, something happened to Aaron.
This is the first book of Veronica's Secret series, which I thought it would be something new in it. But, unfortunately, I found nothing except a hanging ending. I never thought that this novella would be "to-be-continued". I just thought that it probably end for one case, and the next book would revealed another new case. Maybe, it because it only contained 45 pages which is too short to built a complex story. If you like a story about princess-prince thing, this novella could be a choice.
Veronica a young princess who recently lost her mother & brother is in love with Aaron. Unfortunately life can be cruel… In order to protect her kingdom because her father is dying, she is due to marry a prince from another kingdom & has to renounce to her love.
If you want to read a story about prince/princess, fantastic stories & thrillers ? This book is made for you. Warning: Some scenes are really hot… ;-)
****
Falling Hard is a short read and packed with story lines. I think there is a little to much going on in this novella, especially since there is another book. Yes, that means cliffhanger. The actual happenings has enough suspense, romance and sex without needing daydreams. If the book was longer I may not have been able to keep up with the bouncing around stories and characters. However, it left me wanting more so I will be reading the next book to see what happens with the princess, prince and Aaron.
