My parents were born just before the start of the twentieth century; my youngest grandchild arrived in this century's final decade. The years in between have been the most dynamic in the history of the human race. Technical knowledge has exploded; so has the Earth's human population. We can create almost anything, yet each day we lose parts of our planet that can never be replaced.
I'm greedy: I want to write about all of it - the history, the grief, joy, and excitement of being human in times past; the cutting-edge inventions of times almost here.

لانس فرزندخوانده خانواده آکرمن است. او تنها شش ماه از پل کوچک تر است ولی تفاوت های آنها باعث شده ضعف های پل بیشتر به چشم پدر بیاید. پدر برای مرد شدن پل این دو برادر را به سفری سه روزه در کوهستان می فرستد. جایی که اتفاقات غیر منتظره ای مثل مواجهه با قاچاقچیان و زلزله در انتظار پسران سیزده ساله است.
خیلی شبیه فیلم های هیجان انگیز آمریکایی بود که می دانی بالاخره قرار است چه اتفاقی بیفتد اما هیجان داستان ولت نمی کند و تا آخر ادامه می دهی.

It was great. It was really exciting to read, especially with the drug dealer and the earthquakes. It was a story of friendship and brotherhood. They were all boy scouts which I can relate to. I like how it switched perspectives between the drug dealer and the boys and when they finally meet the perspective switches more frequently until the meet and the 2 perspectives combine to together. I would read it again it was very good.
