Rune has always lived her life in the safety of anonymity, staying away from the public eye. Now, when her secret relationship to a national hero is discovered, she is thrown into the spotlight and caught at the center of a public outcry.
In a world where ten percent of the population possesses super powers, and the strong are idolized as heroes and celebrity elite by the press, an unprecedented attack on a military power plant threatens to forever change the status quo.
Rune finds herself torn between dealing with the fallout of the public scandal and the weight of greater dangers that could jeopardize the lives of everyone she holds dear. As the secrets of her past resurface, along with rekindled old prejudices, she must find a way to bridge the gap between her two lives. She must finally come to terms with who she really is and who she can truly trust.
Rune is a wonderer a loner of sorts.. She is a super, but her ability lands right at the bottom.. When she falls & marries Malik another super, Rune knows it won't be easy.. You see Malik, is a defender. The best there is. Loved by everyone and a public figure. Rune has always live behind the lime light. When an attack on a military plant occurs, Rune goes to Rook for help. Rook is an old friend from her past. While trying to keep her life private and working to find who is behind the attacks. She tries to find where she belong and if in the end she has made the right decision.
I totally enjoyed this book. It had action, made me laugh and even a little sad. The group of supes were well developed and worked well together. Rune did make me mad and I didn't know if she would ever redeem herself.. In the end Rune did win over..I did feel the end was rushed a bit, but I can't wait to see more from this author.
