Losing Control

Rate this book
Strip-club waitress.
Aspiring Teacher.
Friend of the Heaven Hill MC.

Bianca Hawks met Jagger Stone in the most embarrassing of ways. After watching him play music at Wet Wanda’s for months, she fell half naked into his arms after a drunken bout with a stripper pole and the back of a pick-up truck. Avoiding him and his killer smile no longer works when she needs her car repaired and he comes to her rescue. His request for payment comes in the form of date nights spent with just the two of them – away from both the strip club and the MC.

Tough guy with model good looks.
Talented musician.
Newly patched member of the Heaven Hill MC.

Jagger Stone only wanted two things – to be a patched member of the Heaven Hill MC and to get to know Bianca Hawks. One for two isn’t bad, but when her car breaks down and she’s left with no one else to help her, he plays the situation to his advantage. Over late nights driving up and down the interstate and nights in spent at her apartment, Jagger realizes that there is so much more to Bianca than he ever knew.

When her dream of becoming a school teacher is threatened by someone who wants her all to himself, the two of them are thrown into a dangerous game of cat and mouse. For the first time, Heaven Hill isn’t sure what they are up against or if they can keep their family safe. In times of danger, Bianca and Jagger know the only thing they can do is hold onto each other while trying not to admit they are losing control.

Take what you want. Take what you need

Bianca is the one who haunts Jagger’s mind, day or night, and no matter how hard he tries she won’t give him the time of day. Set on her goals to become a teacher, she’s not willing to let anything stand in her way, even this sexy-biker with his panty melting voice. She can’t help but be charmed with his flirtatious ways
“Bianca Hawks, will you be my girlfriend?”.

As fate tends to intervene, Bianca and Jagger find themselves in a position that brings her closer to him at his weakest moment. Setting aside their prides, they take each day as it comes and see where it takes them. Scared to lose herself she still holds a piece of her back from Jagger, who is finding it hard not to lay claim to the woman who doesn’t want to be claimed. If being a strip-club waitress wasn’t enough to tarnish her reputation as a school teacher what more if they find out that her man is part of the Heaven Hill MC?!?
“There’s nothing to be ashamed about here, between us, Bianca. I’m here because I like who you are and I respect who you’re trying to be. There’s no need for either one of us to pretend to be something we aren’t.”

Not sure what I was expecting with Jagger and Bianca’s story but so far this is the second one that didn’t really do it for me. I liked it but I wanted more… more passion, more alphaness, just more. I probably will continue but not sure if I’m gonna rush in.

I have finally figured out why I have been on the fence about this series. I like the books. I've enjoyed reading them. But, something just wasn't sitting right with me. It's the MC part if it. Guys in a MC aren't share your feelings kind of guys. I've been running with MCs since I was a teenager. They don't sit down with therapist (Like Tyler in book 2 and Jagger in this one). They don't care if they are gruff or rude. They just say it like it is and move on. You either accept it or you don't. But you'll be the one to adjust-not them. I don't really consider any of the main male characters in this series alpha. Not even close. I don't even put them in the "bad boy" category. The "bad boy" elements seem like they are just in there to be able to run with the MC theme. And seem more out of character for the guys than a true part of who they are. I like the story over all. I will pick up the next one. But because I just can't see it as a "real" MC I have to leave it at 3 stars meaning it's an average read.

It’s hard not to enjoy the books in author Laramie Briscoe’s Heaven Hill series and I’m pleasantly surprised how differently each book is written. While book one was fairly complex in setting up the series, book two had a more serious feel to it, and this one was more fun loving which describes the characters as well. That’s not to say there aren’t some serious and dangerous moments, but this story was more laid back and very entertaining.

I’ll admit Jagger Stone has intrigued me ever since he purposely let another man’s woman ride on the back of his bike. He had his reasons and he was trying to do the right thing, but knowing he shouldn’t made me realize this is a guy who lives his life on his terms. So, I was pretty shocked when I learned of his upbringing and what he had planned to do with his life before he joined Heaven Hill and flat out loved that he found a way to merge his past life with his current one during this book.

I’ll admit I’m a little sad that he has no interest in pursuing a music career but I understand why it’s important for him to do it his way.
Bianca Hawks is one of those characters you can’t help but admire. She’s pulled herself up from a crappy childhood and is pursuing a degree while working as a waitress at Wet Wanda’s strip joint. As her dreams start to become reality, she finds herself indebted to Jagger and trying to merge her personal life with her career choice.

I really loved these two characters together and the time they took to get to know one another before jumping into a physical relationship. That’s not to say that sparks weren’t flying all over the place because when these two are in the same room it’s a wonder the fire sprinklers don’t activate. I give Jagger a lot of credit for realizing that Bianca needed to go slow but I also believe he was okay with that because he felt something special for her from the start.

The author did an amazing job of showing how easily it is to get caught up in a club like this. While Bianca had no intentions of being associated with Heaven Hill, through Jagger she became acquainted with some of the women and the club members helped her out on more than one occasion. She didn’t plan this, and never expected it, but it was evident how much the friendships she formed and the support she felt meant to her. I enjoyed seeing the characters from the previous books and catching up on their lives as well.

With each book, I become more enthralled up with the Heaven Hill Motorcycle Club and its members and women. Losing Control is a superb addition to this series and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I loved this book! Why???

1) Super possessive Alpha - Check
2) Motorcycle Bad boy - Check
3) Great, hot, smart and sweet heroine - Check
4) Some danger for our heroine - check
5) That super possessive alpha turn hero - check
6) Scenes that melt your panties to your hoo-hoo - double check

Loved it! This series just keeps getting better. I'm not gonna lie, I didn't dig the first one in this series too much. However, all the ones after have made up for it and then some.

Totally recommend!

Losing Control is the third book in Laramie Briscoe’s Heaven Hill series, and it was another addictive read. I’ve been curious about the couple since the first reference was made to them, and I had high hopes for their story.

Although I enjoyed Losing Control, it wasn’t quite all I had hoped it would be. The story was interesting, but there were some elements introduced that I feel could have been taken to the next level. There were details I enjoyed, but I was not given enough to be truly satisfied.

As always, however, Laramie Briscoe has left me curious to see what the next book brings. Details given about the couple of book four have me super curious.

Once again Laramie has sucked me into the world of this Heaven Hill MC. The first book, Meant to Be, was intense and fast paced. The second, Out of Darkness, was a more emotional ride while still keeping it sexy. This book shows that Laramie is definitely connected to these characters and I can really tell that she wrote them one right after the other. This book has a slower pace to the character relationships. Where Denise just jumped in with Liam and Tyler had to drag Meredith out of the darkness, this one was able to show the slow building of a relationship. Jagger and Bianca had to establish each other's trust and they had to work at it while still living their lives. Don't worry, there is still plenty of MC goodness, shootings, villains, and alpha male stubborness!

I was a little iffy about the stripper aspect of the book, I'm not going to lie. It really worked though. I really felt for Bianca and I loved that she wouldn't let Jagger just take over her life and take care of things. That's not how real people function. Jagger was every bit as alpha as the rest of the males in the club and it was kind of hilarious seeing him get advice about women from every one around him. He was obviously out of his element. There are plenty of appearances from the previous characters, whose stories are still being progressed and woven in. I love that about a series!

Now I'm eagerly waiting for the next book in the series which I'm assuming is Layne with all his secrets also.

You know Adam Levine's song 'Moves like Jagger' let me tell you what PERFECT THEME SONG FOR THIS BOOK!!! Boy oh boy did Jagger have moves, he's considerate, "I did what needed to be done to it. You drive this car back and forth to work late at night. It needs to be safe." He does what needs to be done to show the world that Bianca is his girl, "Jagger looked uncomfortable as he got up from his side of the table and went to sit next to Bianaca. "I'll take whatever beer you have on draft, and what will you have?" he asked, putting his arm around her again." He gets all sorts of bada** and possessive, "I took care of that guy tonight. I wanted to chop his di** off because it was hard for you, but I decided to let him remain a man. I won't be that nice when the next one comes around. I can't control my jealousy when it comes to you, and I think it's pretty effin' clear I don't like you workin' in that place, but I understand that you have to do what you have to do." I am so ready for the next book in the series!

Thanks Laramie Briscoe for an ARC of Losing Control, the third book in the Heaven Hills Series.
When Jagger Stone, a newly patched member of Heaven Hills MC meets Bianca Hawks a waitress at Wet Wandas strip joint, they form a relationship that warms the heart. The guys from Heaven Hills MC are all caring with troubles in their past. These are not your typical hard, dangerous bikies, yes they can be violent when they are looking out for their own but they don’t go looking for trouble. Jagger has a soft romantic side to him and it shows even more so when he serenades Bianca at Wet Wandas. The events that happen after this serenade put Bianca in danger and her dream of being a School Teacher in jeopardy. This story also includes lots of interactions with the characters of the previous books which I really love as it keeps them all fresh in your mind.
These books just keep getting better and I love that we get a teaser for the upcoming book, Layne and Jessica’s story. Recommend to all who love gorgeous biker boys with heart and soul who love and care for their women and aren’t afraid to show it.

I loved the first two books in the series and this one was no exception, I think the Heaven Hill bikers are probably the closest to criminals of any of the biker series I have read but they have such an overriding sense of family and looking out for each other that kind of excuses that. Not to mention that they all seem pretty hot as well.

Bianca is so used to being alone that she struggles to accept both Jagger and the way the club draws her into the fold. It's good to see old favourite characters playing a part and there's a great contrast between Bianca working in a strip joint yet dreaming of being a teacher. Not once does this book cheapen the women who work at the strip joint, in fact I don't think Laramie has written about the biker bunnies that other biker books seem to have.

I think these books more than anything are good old romances, they just have hot bikers in them rather than tame Prince Charmings, and that's what makes them so enjoyable.

Looking forward to book 4 next year and meeting the gang again.

ARC for Honest Review

The third book Losing Control, is about Bianca and Jagger. Their story was more of a younger affair, compared to the intensity of the previous two books. Even though this was not as good for me as the others, it was still very enjoyable and kept the intense suspense and intrigue from Meant to Be and Out of Darkness. Jagger and Bianca carry more innocence with them, compared to the stories of Tyler and Liam. I missed that dark ruggedness that you experience before from the other members. I did like that you hear and see interaction from the rival gang and their leader Dino. It makes the story balance out from not overwhelming romance, and gives it the flare of drama. I really enjoy Laramie's writing, her ability of keeping you in suspense with the situations they are dealing with and getting emotionally involved with the backgrounds of her characters, just makes it fantastic writing. I am looking forward to the next book in 2014, hopefully Layne will bring back some of that bad boy attitude. Enjoy!

It was an okay read, but these bikers coddle their women and "share" their feelings too much, even at the expense of a shrink, for me to really "feel" their badassness. In bk#2, it was more understandable b/c the heroine suffered a brutal attack. In this book, though the female does have some problems, I was just sort of done with the "let's spend an hour on the couch" scenes. It's not that I don't believe in seeking counseling. I do. It's just that it felt a little incongruous with "the life", ya know?

Furthermore, the heroine was a little annoying with her I'm so independent and can take care of myself actions. She was also selfish because she didn't trust enough to let the hero in, but she nagged him constantly to "tell her everything about him" & "tell her the truth" when she withheld so much info and barely divulged the personal stuff herself. This made me dislike her a bit, but fortunately the hero, in his own coddling, mushy, semi-badass way, had some good moments and he saved the story.

Happy Reading.

Laramie Briscoe is amazing. She certainly does not disappoint in this third installment of the Heaven Hill MC series. I was so happy when I received an advanced copy of this book. Honestly, I didn't think that anything could top Tyler in Out of Darkness . . . but I was WRONG! I am seriously wondering if Jagger is my new favorite leading man in the Heaven Hill MC.

One of my favorite things about this book is the developing relationship between the characters in this series. Not only the relationship between hero and heroine (Bianca and Jagger) but the friendship that has developed between all of the characters in the MC is amazing. They feel like real people - not just characters on a page. They care. They hurt. They love. They hate.

This book just leaves me hungry for more. I cannot wait to see what Layne has in store for us in book four. Keep the Heaven Hill books coming! :-)

Jagger and Bianca was a great addition to Heaven Hills, I so loved this book. Jagger has been wanting Bianca since he caught her falling naked in his arms from the back of a truck and Bianca was attracted to him but had issues of trust and wanting to be independent, but Jagger was patient with her and showed her that he wanted to be with her and respected her something Bianca never had, my favorite part was when Jagger asked her to be his girlfriend, I think I swooned at that. I loved how the author shows that honesty and communication and trust is the foundation of a relationship and respect. There is drama as when dealing with a MC and it was just the right amount. Laramie Briscoe is a must have for me. Can't wait for the next installment. P.S. Would love for Rooster to have his own story.

Absolutely loved. Best of Laramie Briscoe's work by far.
Jagger and Bianca... So hot.
Short review... BEST of show award. Heaven Hill is a good series, this is a great installment!
Jagger... YES please. Newbie member of Heaven Hill and holy smoke.
Bianca... Stripper with heart.
These 2 together... ***insert Katy Perry's Fireworks....
Long story short because I'm typing on an iPhone, if you like hot bikers, romance, and smexy stuff... Read it!
But my recommendation is to read the first 2 of the Heaven Hill series first.

Oh Jagger.. I'm not sure how the author seen him but he is my Jax Teller!! I flipped thru page after page only wishing that Jax would break out in song while watching this weeks SOA!! Ha ha.

Bianca and Jagger was a story that was sweet and my favorite part, something you don't get too often was a honest story about love and faith. After years away from it, Jagger found his faith again. That was a refreshing storyline. Especially since I tend to read only erotica!!

Can't wait for Laynes story!!!

This is becoming my fave MC for sure. I can't get enough of this bad ass group and the fun ladies. I think Briscoe is amazing! I know when I start one of these I won't put it down until I'm done.

Jagger was amazing in this book. Damaged, but not too much and the way Bianca healed him and how he melted her defenses, it was such a great story!

" Sometimes being out of control brought you to the most beautiful place ever"...last line from Losing Control pretty much tells it like it is for me.
I absolutely love the quick flow and ease with which Laramie Briscoe tells a story...her words float from the page with clarity and you get the sense that she is talking about real, honest to goodness, down to earth people. Not bad ass biker criminals who break laws (as well as bones) but more just family men and women who live their lives on their own terms and love and support each other as much as anyone else.
I laughed at the coupling of Bianca/Jagger only because their names make up that of a real person...clever...but the actual characters themselves were so compatible and sweet that this book was way more tender and gentle to read than the first two in the series. Don't get me wrong...there was plenty of action and violence and scenes that made me cringe...but this one seemed less hardcore and more like a normal love story between two hard working young people (who just happened to be affiliated with an MC) with the side story of a threat in the form of an unlikely villain.
Now bring on Layne and Jessica! I'm enjoying these younger newly patched members stories a lot =)

Again, the author keeps getting better as she further develops the characters and the MC this series is based upon. Loved Bianca and Jagger-both are humble and spunky giving this book just enough spice not to ruin the romance! The villains are totally distasteful and fun to hate! All in all a great read.
Did want to make a comment about another review that indicated that the portrayal of this MC and the Bikers was too touchy feely, as well as unrealistic. I want to Scream that this is FICTION-it is Ms. Briscoe's prerogative as to how she weaves her story and develops her characters, and frankly, I can relate to this and enjoy this more, because of that. I can also say I have been around a local MC that is more charity based and it is full of dudes just like Liam, Tyler, Jagger, and Layne. So bravo, keep bringing this fiction to me, it goes well with my romance book addiction!

There is so much that is right about Losing Control that it’s hard to pick what to mention in a short review.

I think what surprised me the most is how normal Bianca seemed. She is perhaps the most relatable character that Laramie has yet written. Who hasn’t fought to achieve a dream before? In spite of her work in a strip joint, she and Jagger almost seem like opposites, and you have to wonder if they will ever be able to overcome their differences.

Jagger’s transformation at the end—wow! Can’t wait to see how that plays out in future books.

And as a local, I love seeing our not-so-little town fictionalized. Laramie’s sense of humor came through in this book when she took real, newsworthy events and made them part of her empire!

Disclaimer: I edited this book.

Great Book!! But then again I did like the first two. Well written and the characters work well within the book. Jagger and Bianca's story is one that will make you laugh, make you mad and then make u cry. Its also nice to see how Meredith and Tyler are getting along and Liam and Denise. We also get to meet some of the other members of the club.
Now to wait till early 2014 for the 4th book. From what i read of the short snip of the book it is going to be good.
Amazing book Laramie!!!!!

I only gave this three stars. I liked the story and have read the other two books but there just seemed to be something missing with the stories. I think it just wasn't gritty enough, like the other MC books I have read. The MC characters just seem too nice and are not down and dirty bikies. Lol. I didn't finish the first book due to losing interest in it and read the second one, which was well written but MC lifestyle was just not that convincing.

4.5 stars. Jagger and Bianca, what a great story. Loved the way the author add all the characters from book 1 and 2 to this one. How they belong to each other, what turmoil had to conquer to continue there love and happiness. Love the therapist they had working with them. Bravo to the author, keep them coming.

Halfway through I was bored and all I could think was can I just get this over with so I can move on to book 4. But then around 70% I suddenly lost track of time and all I wanted to do was read read read. I was losing control and being sucked in. The book really ended on a high note. I'm very excited about the next installment.
