“Here comes Trouble!” Colton took one look at the stripper on stage and knew that was exactly what Vida was, trouble. He had no desire to succumb to the young woman tantalizing men with her provocative movements and killer body with no intention of satisfying their fantasies. Fresh out of prison, his tattoo shop and getting rid of an aggravating ex were his first priorities, not a woman who should know better than to become involved in a situation that could get her killed.

Vida will do anything to save her friend’s life, even if it includes stripping on stage and doing lap dances in the VIP room under her stage name Trouble. All the sensuous moves were just an illusion to gain the information she needed, even if it meant the men who watched thought she would keep the promises her body was making.

Forced to sift through lies and betrayals, Colton discovers a woman who is as loving as she is loyal, but won’t give him a chance. Vida, who tries to ignore the escalating passion between them, learns the hard way that some men shouldn’t be teased…

This work of fiction is intended for mature audiences only. All sexually active characters portrayed in this ebook are eighteen years of age or older. Please do not buy if strong sexual situations, loss of a child, moderate violence and explicit language offends you. Note: This book may have a happily ever after for the hero and heroine, but will however end in a cliffhanger for her friend...

I think I got dehydration from all the throwing up.

He kept screwing multiple OW while h was in the other room sleeping on his couch and was within hearing distance because, wait for it, he was in undeniable lust with the h. So yeah his solution, keep her on the couch, fuck OW. This guy was nothing more than a slut and she was a virgin.
Imagine getting STI’s from your first encounter and wondering which of the OW you got it from, I mean you know ALL of them personally! So romantic! Not!

3.5ish. YAY!

It's been a long time since I haven't read books with badass people. I missed this!
Not to mention, I'm beginning to think that Jamie Begley writes some of the best MC books out there. This isn't exactly an MC book, but if you've read other stuff by her, you know what I'm talking about (and if you haven't then you definitely should!).

Didn't think I'd like Vida's story but it surprised me (in a good way). She's not awful, although I expected a bit more from her at times.
Colton was a badass with a sensitive soul (too sensitive at times, so a bit annoying, if you ask me) but he made up for that with his kick-ass self.
All in all, they were great together, and that's what matters in any romance book.

The story is pretty good too, it made me curious about the next book, so it deserves the 3.5 stars. On to the next one!

Again, read it, loved it! I am officially a HUGE Jamie Begley fan!!! wootwoot!

Vida a.k.a. Trouble, would do anything to save her best friend even if it's stripping on stage and doing lap dances on VIP room. Although she hates what she's doing, she would do anything to gain information she needs. What she doesn't need is a man who just got out of prison and uses women for sex.

Colton fresh from prison, just wants to get rid of his ex wife and take care of his tattoo shop. But, since he owes King, the owner of the strip club a favour, he is forced to babysit and protect Vida. He has no intention in falling for anyone after what his ex did to him but Vida surprise him more and more everyday.

There is so much to say... I love Vida, she's not your typical female, she's saving herself for a man who will be faithful to her, she is very loyal to her friend, she has ambition and she is finishing her College degree. There is a part of the story that I think she acted stupid but hey, we all make mistake.

Colton, despite being man whore, I love him! His an all out bad ass alpha male.

Love love love this book.... if you want that hot alpha male, very lovable female, hot steamy story that kicks ass and full of surprises, this is definitely your read! ;)

This is not a cliffhanger, but the story definitely is left hanging till the next book... and I CANT WAIT!

I don't know why people loved this book so much. I didn't like Colton at all. He was a man whore and arrogant as hell. I liked Vida until she fell for the Colton. Then the ending seemed so rushed, I was confused for a second there.

This is the second book I've tried by the author, and we just don't mesh. I found it painful just to get to the 1/2 way point. Honestly, there just isn't any substance, and what plot there is doesn't make sense.
Vida is a stripper. She doesn't want to strip, but her BFF Sawyer was abducted by a crime boss. (Digger) The book blurb makes it seem like she's an undercover stripper trying to get info on her missing BF, but really; she goes to King (another crime boss) for help because he was friends with her mom. This part is super confusing... King recruits Colton to "babysit her" because she's in danger...because Digger's pissed... because she told the police he took her friend...but for some reason, the police are never mentioned...and she's stripping because she trying to blend in... because King can't show favorites...What?? So up to this point (50%) nothing has happened except Colton screwing OW, going to his tattoo parlor... Vida going to school and stripping. That's pretty much it. There's no action to find the missing BF, no real communication between the 2 MC's. It's just boring. This does overlap with the Predators MC so if you're into those maybe you'll like it. Either way it's free on KU so I'm out nothing:)

Fresh out of prison Colton has a few priorities, get rid of his ex, get back to his tattoo shop, and get laid! But first Colton needs to see King strip club owner to whom he owes a favour. On entering King's club Colton's attention is drawn to the stripper on the stage, she's young and stunningly beautiful, and King as it turns out needs Colton to babysit her for the next few weeks.

Ohh but what a yummy Asshole we get in Colton and we can't leave out Vida the perfect blend of a sexy strong innocent heroine. Perfect read for the mood I was in.. Dirty Talker, manwhore turned to a one ladies man Uber ALPHA!! Double Yum!! Wow! That's all I can say. This book was hot in all the right places. Teased is the first book of the VIP Room series by Jamie Begley and such a great start. FIRST BOOK IN A NEW SERIES! This book was fantastic - I loved it !!!!!!. The character & plot development was brilliant. There was nothing I would have changed in this book. Super excited. I almost did not read this. I read the sample and thought it was reasonable and just needed something to read after trying many other non suitable books. I was very happy with the quality and easily zoned out of the world around me (always good!!).

Sometimes being bored is dangerous coz it makes me read trash like this.

Zero has been screwing so many ow until almost 50% of the book in an effort to ‘stay away’ from the doormat virgin. Also, said doormat is just in the other room and could hear all the action.

I need brain bleach.

2 ⭐⭐ - Meh!
=============
UPDATE: Reread 25-26 January 2021

Rereading the author's books in the order indicated by her while I wait for Gavin's third book.
--------------------------------------------

Serving three of his five-year sentence had been hard, but now it was over.

“I never got the paperwork,” Colton said coldly. “I thought we would wait and see how we felt after you got out. I don’t want a divorce,” Tessa said softly,

“Tessa, our marriage was over when I found out you were selling pussy to feed that habit of yours. You almost destroyed my business and you put me in prison.

“Who the fuck is that?”
“That is Vida, she’s Goldie’s daughter.”

==>SEX OW<==
A knock sounded on the door just as Colton was about to reach for Rae again.

==>SEX OW<==
They kissed for several minutes before Colton pulled his head back. “It’s good to see you again, too, Tracy.”

Leaving the bathroom, she rushed down the short hallway as the bed banging against the wall started echoing through the apartment.

==>SEX OW<==
Colton held the door open for Wanda to leave, motioning for her to be quiet. With a quick kiss, she went through the door. He shut and locked it behind her, turning to go into the kitchen.

He had no problem filling his bed each night with a different woman, the tattoo shop and past pick-ups provided a steady flow to satisfy the hunger that had gone unfed the three years in prison.

“How much longer is this going to go on, King? I have a life—” Colton began. King cut him off. “Which watching over Vida hasn’t hindered in the least. You’ve had a different woman over every night, and other than a few hours of watching her at your shop and at night after she gets done here, you haven’t been inconvenienced at all.”

Vida came to a dead stop seeing Tessa sprawled across the couch completely naked.

He obviously enjoyed a variety of women and Vida had no intentions of being just another piece

==>SEX OW<==
Vida kept her face expressionless as the waitress from the Waffle House came into the room looking disheveled and stinking from sex. Colton walking behind her paused as they both became aware that they were no longer alone.

Vida wished just one time she could have an uneventful night without any of Colton’s fuck buddies coming and going. She was beginning to think the room at King’s wasn’t all that bad.

==>SEX OW<==
“I didn’t need you to butt in and explain anything to Tammy. It was none of her business.”

==>SEX OW<==
Vida lowered her eyes back to the computer, already knowing it was a woman at the door; it just remained to be seen which woman he’d called. Vida recognized the voice of the woman that he had given a tat to last week.

==>SEX OW<==
Colton won the next hand and with a pot of a grand he chose Juliet to give him a dick shot.

The waitress from the waffle house was back and she was standing at the stove frying the hamburgers. Colton was leaning casually against the counter.

“Have you ever let anyone play with this pretty, little pussy before?” Vida tried to jerk her hips away,

“Why are you still a virgin, Vida?

“I am going to save myself for one man. A man who I know is going to love me as much as I love him, and won’t leave me for the next piece of pussy he sees. He will be as committed to me as I am to him. That will not be you, you’re a horn dog, and you’re married!” she yelled. Colton rose up from his relaxed position, bringing his chest against hers.

“I swore I wouldn’t end up like my mother, yet here I am, packing groceries back to an apartment three blocks away from where I grew up.” “Fate’s a bitch.” “Yes, she is.”

Several even kissed him on the mouth, taking turns. Vida’s blood was beginning to boil. “Calm down, they’re just saying hi,” Gert said by her side. “They don’t have to use their tongue to do it,” Vida replied sharply.

Sherri told me the only reason you were stripping was to help your friend Sawyer.

WTF

Seriously, at first I was going to just say that the low rating was due to the fact that it just personally wasn't for me, but the ending is my biggest concern.

As for everything else, the romance was okay for me. It fell flat for me as I couldn't see Vida loving him other than because of his hero characteristics and gratitude. The sex was hot and steamy which I suppose was making it up for the lack of romance, but I was hoping to see a good amount of both. The ending was way too rushed. As someone in the reviews here mentioned, it seemed like it just abruptly cut off and a chunk of it is missing.

Overall, I wasn't satisfied with the novel. Others have proven to enjoy this novel so I guess I'm in the minority. If you tend to be the majority in liking books, give this one a shot. If you're looking for a romance erotica that has a bigger emphasis on erotica, this book is for you. If you want sex, sweet romance, focus on a plot, and an appropriate ending (not counting the epilogue), you might want to steer clear of this one.

This book was full of lots of potential. I loved the concept, there was some very steamy scenes in this and I think the characters could have become something to talk about. I think two things hurt the quality of this book:

1. Lack of Character Development

We got to know both of the characters individually pretty well at the start but for me the thing that was missing in character development was that we never really got an insight into how their feelings for each other came about. This was really problematic for Colton particularly, because at the beginning of the book we see a man who swears never to put his trust in another women again, who swears he won't touch Vida and who reflects this is his man whorish behaviour. All of a sudden we get this massive shift in his feelings, pretty much out of no where, it's really random actually. I'd like to have seen some development of this, how did they come about? What did he see in her other than beauty? These are the kind of questions that the author tried to answer towards the end of the book, but this was done too late and too poorly.

Similarly other than Colton's new attention, nothing shows us how Vida established her feelings for him either. Something was definitely missing.

2. Massive holes in the plot

I think the author made a mistake in producing a cliffhanger as well as an epilogue. I understand that the unanswered questions in this book as to Sawyer's fate and her relationship to King are being left to her book, and I'm not criticizing the author for doing this as I think it makes sense. What doesn't make sense is than slapping an epilogue on the book that is at least four years in the future with no explanation to one of the main sub-plots of the book. I just think she could have implied the HEA without being so specific and leaving the reader lost as to the outcome for Sawyer.

That said I think this book is worth an afternoon indulgence and is a good book. I'm just disappointed because it could have been a great book.

Eh. This read was ok. Dragged on at several parts. Low on the romance in my opinion. Hero was a horn dog fucking a different women every night in his bedroom while heroine slept on his couch. Wth? Maybe it's just me, but that just totally put me off.

Also, later on in the story hero gives heroine a butterfly tattoo & secretly incorporates his initials on it without telling her as a way to mark her as his. Okay? Another WTH from me.

The MC's just weren't very appealing to me. Vida needed more backbone & Colton...just wasn't my kind of hero. I'll just put it at that. Also, Vida & Colton needed more depth as characters & no sparks were really there. Nothing seemed to be happen from the middle towards the end of the story. Events that took place just seemed repetitive to me & so I ended up skimming the rest of the book just to see how the story ended.

Overall, I finished this in one sitting; However I don't think I'll continue with this series. I just have no desire to after reading this one.

Poor editing. No deapth. Poor writing. Shallow story without conclusion.

Just no.

And I must say I'm not a fan of heroes that continue to screw everything with legs after they've met the heroine. I just don't get that. And Colton went on for weeeeeeeks with a new bird every night before he decided to just go for what he really wanted.

Also this is the kind of book where the author has to tell you outright that the hero and heroine had "a love that could withstand anything" instead of making you feel that their love indeed could withstand anything.

To sum it up: I found this book lacking.

This book was def one of her best so far at last a strong woman who didn't go completely crazy with her hormones over a guy who treated her like crap!!! At least this guy was decent to her and and he actually treated her with respect. Saying that I still feel like there is something missing with JB books I just can't put my finger on it....... Still good book and at last a woman in her books who did not make me want to shake her!!

Teased by Jamie Begley

Hot tattooed biker Colten is about to run into a whole lot of "Trouble!"

This is the first book I have read from Jamie Begley, I generally read a softer romance to level myself out after a particularly dark read. Although Colton is a biker the story does not involve him in the club so to speak so it’s not you’re a typical MC romance story.

Colten has just been released from a three-year prison sentence. His soon to be ex-wife’s drug addiction is the reason he is behind bars and now he is free he is keen to get back to his old life running his tattoo shop but minus his wife. Before he can move forward though he must repay a debt that is owed to King the owner of a strip club and that’s where he runs right into Trouble!

Trouble is the stage name for Vida who has been bribed into working as a dancer at Kings club in exchange for her protection and the aid of finding her friend that has been taken and sold in a sex trafficking ring.

Colten’s debt repayment to King is to take over the protection of Vita, she is to live with him until King finds her friend. Vida is strong, independent and a very loyal friend but things with her and Colten don’t exactly start of too well due to Colten’s revolving bedroom door and his standoffish attitude.

The obvious sexual tension and evolving chemistry become too much for either to resist and yada yada yada things just seem to go from super slow to super speed and the end was left unresolved.

description

I liked the general idea of the storyline but I had a few issues which overall effected my rating of it.

Firstly, I am not a huge fan of the main male character(hero) in any story sleeping around with multitudes of woman especially when the heroine is within earshot. I like my alpha males to be completely and irrevocably hooked on the one catch. Now when I say multitudes of woman I mean Colten has a new woman in his bed every night for weeks on end while Vita slept on the couch, that ruffled some feathers for me.

Secondly The character development was lacking neither overcame their original conflict, Vita did not find her friend and when Colten first came out of jail he was against relationships and had trust issues however we didn’t actually see him work through the hurt from his ex-wife’s betrayal. There was no reference to him struggling to overcome this. I felt there needed to be more inner monologue to explain the sudden change Colten had towards Vita after swearing he wouldn’t touch her.

And lastly Um what the hell happened to Vita’s friend Sawyer?? I understand there is a second book in the series however it not centred around Colten and Vita. Adding an epilogue to the story was a strange move considering the story was unfinished. It was a head scratching moment for me.

I don’t want to drag the author through the mud for this book because I didn’t hate the story it was good light afternoon read I just thought the story had more potential to be better than it was.

Narrated by: Natasha Vincent
Series: The VIP Room Book 1
Length: 6 hrs and 58 mins

Natasha Vincent narrates her female character Vita well; she is easy to listen to but her male interpretation was something I couldn’t get past. She made Colten sound scratchy and strained it was cringe worthy.

What did I just read? So let me get this straight...Colten fucked all those women right down the hall from where Vida was sleeping because he was in love with her and couldn't have her? Am I understanding that? Instead of putting on his big boy draws, manning up, taking his balls out of King's pocket and pursuing Vida like an adult, he decided to fuck his way through Queens City, just to keep his hands off of her? Oh and parade all those women right in front of her? OMFG! What the hell kind of man does some nasty shit like that! Better question: what the hell kind of woman falls in love with a nasty ass man like that? I just don't understand his reasoning at all, he's not a teenager, he's a grown fucking man....act like one!

Overall, I did enjoy the premise of the book, though I didn't really feel the connection between Vida and Colten. Their relationship was weak and empty, filled with nothing but sex, not love or emotions, just sex. What was up with the ending? It jumped from them on their way to finding Sawyer to them having kids and an anniversary...there's like a whole chunk missing! I know Sawyer gets her own story but to rush an ending and skip parts is just wrong on so many levels!

Not liking this VIP series....

I loved loved this book!

And I think maybe I should have read this one before Shades Fall but in anyway I enjoyed it!

Always nice to read a book about a guy that starts out as a man-whore and then when he falls so madly in love it is just amazing!!

Awesome story, can't wait to read Sawyer's story!

I'm a little indifferent to this book.

I liked Vida; she was smart, hard-working and a survivor. I didn't feel that much connection with Colton. He just seemed like an ex-con tattoo artist with a justifiable grudge against his soon to be ex-wife.

The ending was super anti-climactic and the epilogue was just stupid.

Okay, So, I really enjoyed 'Teased' by Jamie Begley.
Our hero, Colton has just gotten out of prison for a crime he didn't commit. He actually took the rap for his drug addicted,cheating, pregnant wife(who ultimately aborted their kid anyway, so fuck her, right?) who was buying drugs and long story short he shows up and takes the blame and gets sentenced to five years. Fast forward three years and he gets out for good behavior.
The DAY he gets out of prison, he has to go to a guy named King's stripper joint because he owes King a debt. Low and behold, Colton must repay King by looking after Vida, a stripper.
Vida is stripping to pay her own debt to King-He is trying to help her get her friend Sawyer, who has been sold into sex slavery, back.
Basically, It's lust at first sight for Colton. However and this will be the be all and end all for some readers: He doesn't try to get into her bed, instead his bedroom has a revolving door of women, he screws a whole bunch of women while Vida is sleeping on his coach. WITH IN HEARING DISTANCE. Here is another kicker, he is screwing these hordes-and I mean hordes-of women because he wants to screw Vida. What a romantic guy! (Did you get that? that was sarcasm.
description
description
Really, bitch? Really?

Even though, Colton is a major man-hoe and arrogant as hell, I couldn't help but like him. I could sort of forgive him for all the whoring he did after he got out of prison. I mean, he was a man whore before going into prison, though he was faithful to his first wife(he screwed the hell out of her, I assume). And when he finally gets his shit together and decides to go after Vida instead of repressing his major hard on for her, he does get his shit together and actually gets to know her and the revolving door of his bedroom stops completely. He says some pretty hot things that were just:
description
He is like super sexy sometimes, I swear to what ever your deity is. God, he says in this one bit that he wants to tattoo his initials down there on Vida *blush*

Vida...I liked Vida. I thought what she was doing was honorable. I think it takes a lot of guts/desperation to become a stripper especially if you are, in fact, a :
description
Random thought: It's like a sitcom, Vida:The stripping Virgin. (Come on, That was funny!)

Anyway, Stripping is super uncomfortable obviously but she is doing it to help her friend and ultimately helps the FBI help a bunch of women EXCEPT for her friend who is somewhere else but I've spoiled enough of this book, so go find out for yourself.
Another be all and end all for some readers is: WE DON'T ACTUALLY FIND SAWYER! In the last chapter Vida and Colton and a biker gang called The Predators (that name though. Seriously? SERIOUSLY?!) are on their way to go get her back but we don't get in on that action. 'fraid that's in the next book. Instead we get an epilogue which is pretty sweet but leaves a bunch of open ends but lets us know that Colton and Vida are happy.

Should you read this? I don't know,man. I liked it. All of really got to say, This may not be every bodies thing. I've seen some people shut it down because Colton sleeps around with a bunch of girls while Vida is living with him (but they're not together together. And she is off limits to him until he is just like 'Fuck it!'.) and other people shoot it down cause we don't learn what happens to Sawyer in this book-which I totally get because I was waiting the whole book to see if that chick was okay. However, the next book is Sawyer's book. Sawyer gets her own story which honestly, I have no idea if I'll be reading that one...Read some stuff about it and I'm like:

Re-read this one and found that it's even better the second time around.

First read October 14th 2013
Love this new series of Begley's. This book sucked me right in and I connected so well with the characters. Loved the way the super alpha H recognized his feelings for the h and how he was so protective of her.

Ummm, it's kind of weird reading an epilogue of Colton & Vida with kids when we get no resolution what happened with Sawyer. I understand that her book is next but It seemed kind of odd learning about Colton and Vida's HEA (years down the line). Their epilogue probably would have been better had Sawyer's story been resolved.

I loved Colton and Vitas story. Colton a tattoo shop owning biker just got out of a 3 year prison stint all because of his soon to be ex wife. Colton needing fulfill a debt he owes to King, the owner of a strip cub gets stuck protecting Vita who is working as a stripper for King. Vita is working for King in exchange for him helping her to find her missing friend Sawyer. Story has a nice slow burn and great sexual tension with the main characters. Loved Colton even though her was a jerk of a manwhore in the beginning.

I liked this first book in The VIP Room series. I wasn't a huge fan of the Hero, Colton, but I liked the heroine, Vida, a lot. They balanced each other out and actually made a pretty cute couple- once they overcame the awkward beginning.

Starting with the nitty-gritty... Okay, I know that Colton just got out of prison and was anxious to get started on his "to-do" list. I also know that babysitting Vida was not on that list BUT... did he really have to parade a different woman to his bedroom every night... while Vida was in the apartment, sleeping on the couch?! She had to see it, hear it and smell it.

I liked the fact that Vida didn't give in immediately to Colton's eventual advances. She tried to stay focused on her one goal: Find Sawyer, but I'll give this to him; Colton was persistent. He had had enough of trying to get Vida out of his head and finally decided to man up and make his move. I kind of admired his determination to show Vida that he could be the man she needed him to be and that he didn't do the horizontal mambo right off the bat. BUT, it was incredibly hard to forget his manwhore status, especially when he tattooed slores like Krystal- in closed rooms!

Vida had a wicked humorous streak in her. I LOVED when she re-organized the appointment book, so Colton never got any young, straight, unmarried women! I LOVED it when she was able to make one of Colton's f*** buddies believe that he was abusing her- she played the part perfectly, which of course ticked off Colton like nobody's business. And I LOVED that she wasn't high-maintenance and that she had such a caring heart.

Vida wasn't the only entertaining character in the Teased. Although we didn't get a ton of them, I get the feeling that The Predators MC could be a lively bunch. I wonder how they might play into the future because something definitely seems up with Jackal. Not to mention the fact that someone in the MC might be a spy for the bad guys...

The biggest disappointment of the book had to be the lack of resolution. It just sort of left you hanging. There was a cute and fun epilogue but the actual story ended too abruptly for me.

I'm very curious to find out what King's connection is to the girls. There is obviously one buried somewhere back in the past. Hmm... could he maybe be a dad to one of them? On to Tainted (book two in The VIP Room series) to find out!

*Note to Colton: In the future, please do not compare Vida's lady bits to your past conquests. Hearing that "their nipples, their p******, they didn't taste like you"... that was a million times wrong dude.
