Elaine ditugaskan untuk menyelidiki sebuah hotel di Wales yang terbakar habis. Tersangka utamanya adalah Mathys Power, sang pemilik hotel.
Ternyata, Mathys sangat tampan dan membuat Elaine tertarik dan jatuh cinta. Seiring penyelidikan Mathys pun ternyata jatuh cinta pula terhadap Elaine.
Hanya saja, Elaine merasa tidak pantas dicintai. Hal ini ternyata karena Elaine memiliki parut luka di bagian dadanya yang menyebabkan Elaine rendah diri. Padahal Mathys sendiri menganggap Elaine sangat cantik dan tidak peduli terhadap parut-parut luka Elaine.
Siapa yang bertanggung jawab terhadap pembakaran hotel Mathys? Lebih baik baca novel ini ya...
