Phoenix Force is a series of action-adventure novels first published in 1982 by American Gold Eagle publishers. It is a spin-off of the Executioner series created by Don Pendleton.

Phoenix Force is one of two neutralization teams working for Stony Man, a top-secret anti-terrorist organization. As with The Executioner, the Phoenix Force novels have been written by a succession of authors under the pseudonym Gar Wilson. In 1991, Gold Eagle combined Phoenix Force with another Executioner spin-off series, Able Team, and launched the Stony Man book series, which is still being published as of 2005.

A solid chapter in the series written by prolific Bolanverse writer William Fieldhouse. This time PF is sent to Belgrade, Yugoslavia to find out what is going on when several citizens are killed when someone started shooting from the window of the American embassy building. What at first look like it could be some kind of KGB operation to get Yugoslavia to stop siding with western powers turns into a mystery when Russian journalists are also attacked. However PF is up to the challenge and ends up taking the fight too the enemy.

Highly recommended for fans of the Men's Adventure genre. Fieldhouse is always a good time and is never boring. This is a quick read and even though the scheme is kind of hare brained ( hell forces on both sides thought it was), it still was a dangerous situation that PF was going into.

4 stars!? For this poor man's version of a middling Mission Impossible instalment? Well, according to the Goodreads rating system, that means I "really liked it." It doesn't mean it's excellent. Or deep. Or insightful. Or even logical. It's just dumb fun and at this particular moment in time it's exactly what I was looking for. And... I really liked it.

A spin off series from his Executioner books. This series follows several secondary characters that band together. Recommended
