An excellent and wide-ranging collection of essays produced by a diverse range of theorists, academics, and activists in 2004, sharp on the heels of America's invasion of Iraq in 2003. Some things have changed and yet, more acutely, reading this book reminds me that much has stayed consistent and true: the demonization of Muslim-Americans, the twin wings of the American imperial eagle, the genocidal roots of nationalist supremacy in North America. Some of the stronger or more provocative essays here are by writers such as Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, Samir Amin, William K Tabb and Yanis Varoufakis. Recommended, if you can find it.

Not sure about the Goodreads description; it certainly touches on global positioning not just USA;Europe. Some historical context for current US foreign affairs as an imperialistic policy. Different essays, some better than others. Interesting how much has stayed the same in over 10 years.
