Blurred Lines reminded me of the 1980’s movie Pretty Woman; although, Cadence, the hooker, is a long way from Julia Roberts’ sweet street walking character and John Zane, the rich executive, is far from considerate Richard Gere’s character. The hard life Cadence has lived is closer to reality and not every guy a hooker meets is handsome and rich. Pretty woman is more of a fairy tale and Blurred lines (in my opinion) is hard core reality. Some of the “scenes” were a little to “erotic” for my taste and there is so many of them, but I got a good story that puts the fluffy Pretty Woman to absolute shame!

This series is only going to get better with a steamy love triangle between Cadence and her two "Johns". Also, it will be suspenseful due to Zane’s business dealings and it will be more dramatic with Cadence’s long lost junkie brother coming back into the picture.

I think everything was a set up from the jump. the pimp set up this deal he was never going to let Candance out from under him he probably didnt count on get his ass beat. Zane didnt count on liking Candance so he is into something and he wants some information from Travis probably on Candance. I personally dont care for Candance she likes being a hooker but says she wants to go to college. I think she has mental issues because this man is telling you what to do and you happy and enjoying but when he says something your brother you mad for 2 seconds and you fucking him. She should stay with Zane and leave John C alone because Zane is going to hurt him over her greedy ass.

These were so short that I couldn't do a review for them separately. The way that John and John have captured Cadences attention is totally hawt. I however thought that this only went thru number 4 so now I need to get the others to find out how things turned out. Surely didnt think that this would have a cliffhanger like this.

Blurred line

I hate hate hate abrupt no-end stories. Will not bother with this author again for that reason only. Hence, three stars. Big turnoff. Seems to be the M O of all new authors. Unending Series and unfinished stories.

Well, color me surprised. Despite some flaws (format & content related) I ended up liking this way more than I expected to. Tons more, even.

I find the format maddening. The chapters are ridiculously short and the breaks are not handled well. I just... I don't like serials. Super short serials, at that. Just as you start to get into the story, boom, irritating cliffhanger end. If these stories weren't packaged as a four-volume set, I'd never have picked it up. Lucky (I think?) for me they were, and I did.

Content-wise, I found Cadence sometimes frustrating. The dinner with the director and actress jump to mind, in contrast to her near non-reaction to her roommate blowing most of Cadence's money. She has, when it suits, a hair-trigger temper. It's the "when it suits" part that's a problem for me. A hair-trigger anything shouldn't just come and go, and that she wouldn't lose her shit over the majority of $3,000 being (essentially) stolen, but would about an actress she otherwise couldn't be bothered by being a little snooty (which, what did she expect, seriously?) doesn't compute. She's also deeply unlikable when she's being bitchy. But, I rather liked her, aside from that particular character flaw.

I find Zane confounding. As these first four stories are told from Cadence's POV, I suppose that means we're in the same boat as her. Are we supposed to like him? Hate him? Ugh. I DON'T KNOW. Which, to be entirely honest, makes me like him, because I have an absurd, bordering on ludicrous, love for anti-heroes. (cough-Spike-cough) It makes me overlook a lot of flaws. A LOT.

And I don't know enough about Cruze to have much to say about him. He's sexy? (He is. Quite.) I'm looking forward to learning more about him. I hope we do, at least!

There were things that had me cocking an eyebrow and wondering wtf was going on. Like...

I was going to bring up another instance of something that had me scratching my head, but then remembered that it was from book 5. To mention it here wouldn't be appropriate, but it does illustrate the fact that I'm now hooked enough to buy these stories as they're doled out from this point forward, which is not something I'd do under normal circumstance. I may not be connecting to the characters very deeply (I think the format impacts emotional investment), but the storytelling is superb and I find it compulsively readable. I'm all-in, even in the midst of being fairly certain that my questions (most of which I haven't even mentioned here) will never be answered satisfactorily. Also, it's sizzling hot, and that's never a bad thing.

Now, can September 20 get here already so I can get my grubby mitts on book 6?

Holy Smokes! This is effin' hawt. By random, I decided to pick this up for my next read and Oh boy, this has totally blew me away.

Now I'm torn. After finishing these 4 novellas in one sitting, I knew I'm hooked. I'm torn whether I'll be Team Zane or Team John. Poor Cadence! She just couldn't make up her mind who to choose. If I were her, I might be facing the same dilemma. Both are outrageously gorgeous but both have unique and endearing qualities. Well at first, Zane terrified me. His chosen lifestyle is kinda twisted and doesn't float my boat but as I read further, he was growing up on me. It's his eccentricities that drew me into him. He's a walking contradiction - hot & cold then sweet and distant the next. He's a dominant alpha male but the way he takes care of Cadence, is one of his redeeming qualities.

I love Cadence! Though I don't approve of her chosen career but the mere fact that she wants to get a college diploma and fulfill her life long dream and not to stay as a hooker her entire life, makes me like her. In her job, she strictly implements rules anytime, anywhere, until John Effin' Zane. The only guy who broke few of her rules. Then there's sweet and enigmatic John Cruze , the famous Hollywood actor, whom by mistaken identity, Cadence spent the night with. The guy who slowly crept inside Cadence's thick walls. He's passionate, sweet, caring, attentive and swoon worthy. But is he willing to take Cadence into his life wholeheartedly despite her jaded life?

I really loved this series. Each book is very short, composed of almost 60 pages, yet the way it was written, you'll definitely be captivated from page one up to the last. A lot of fan myself moments. It's more like Pretty Woman meets Fifty Shades of Grey kinda story.

Can't wait for the next book though. I'm pretty dying of suspense in here. Still have to find answers to the questions popping into my head. I just wished the story is not broken into several books because, it's really killing me.

I read all eight books one straight after the other. This is a joint review on all of them.

This series is all over the place.
I kept reading thinking it would get better but it didn't. It's a train wreck.
At first I thought I'd stumbled into a very bad remake of Pretty Woman...then I was in some sort of kidnap/hostage situation.
The rest of the books were just a badly made porn film. Bordering on the ridiculous.
And throughout we're expected to believe a prostitute who not only looks amazing ALL the time but also comes at a flick of her lady bits, regardless of who is doing the flicking...and believe me, fussy she is not.
Cadence is a nightmare. Over the top, immature and just plain stupid. She clearly enjoys her 'job' but gets upset everything someone treats her like a prostitute. Erm.....
She's a fucked up mess, going from man to man with no connection to either of them. She is only concerned with getting off. She doesn't care how or with who. There's absolutely no chemistry between any of the characters.
The sex scenes are often confusing unrealistic and unnecessary. There is absolutely no point to a lot of them other than just that. Sex.
There's hints of pleasure/pain but it's very badly written and completely unrealistic.
You need more than badly written sex to make a successful book, and the dirty talk is so bad it's often cringeworthy.
Travis. WTF was that all about?
At the end of book 7 and book 8 it just got ridiculous. The characters totally changed their personalities. Completely inconsistent and totally unbelievable.
The author lost the plot. It's absolutely ridiculous and laughable.

There IS potential here, but it's so incredibly hidden and the story is a a very long way from being good enough to expect people to actually PAY to read it...

The worst thing is that I just didn't care.
I didn't care who she screwed, who hurt her, who she hurt, who she ended up with...
I just didn't care about any of it.
For me, that's the single worst thing I can ever say about a book.

WOW I Just Finish reading this series, and I have to say that I love it, I he to be honest I pick this series by mistake, I did not know what it was about it, and after reading what the series was about, I ask my self why would I want to read bout a hooker, but oh I am so glad that I gave it a chance, cause I started reading the book and I couldn't put it down.

I felt in love with the series, love the characters, and how the books turn out to be, I love the chemistry that Cadence have with both Johns, and love how Hot the Sex Scene are, now I cant wait into I could afford to get the rest of the series, just to see what's gone happened next.

I usually write the review for each books that I read, but since I red the series the box set of volume 1-4 their is just so much, and don't want to give anything away, but I could say that I love the first four books, and cant wait to read the next.

Author Breena Wilde THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome characters and this amazing books, you could go ahead and add me as one more of your fan. :)

Damn!!! That was a short, but sizzling read!!

I usually avoid all books released in short volumes, but I'm glad to have stumbled across this hot little read. It definitely left me wanting more and eager to find out how this story unfolds.

I got this as a freebie (as of today 9/16/13, its listed at .99) and it contained volumes 1-4 (which all together are only a total of 189 pages). I would have a hard time paying .99 per volume, being that they are so short, but I will gladly pay that for a few volumes combined if that happens upon completion of this series.

I was quite impressed with this sexy, hot, fast paced story. I could not put down!! Highly recommended!

This series will have you hooked, no pun intended, for the very beginning. I like the way Cadence’s character has depth to her. She doesn’t want to be a hooker and has very realistic dreams for herself but she feels as if she doesn’t deserve them. I think Mr. Zane is falling in love with Cadence and unlike normal people, he never intended to. He may be in denial about it but it’s all over his face when he sees John Cruze having sex with Cadence on set. Poor Cadence is falling for two men who couldn’t be more different. I hope Cadence follows her heart and puts herself in a good position. I will definitely buy Volume 5 to see what roads these characters go down!!

I absolutely love these books!! I couldn't put it down. I was up until 3:30 in the morning finishing it. I was a little tired a 6am when I had to get up for work. It is a very quick read and loved all the ups and downs. These books stirred all kinds of emotions in me from laughter to crying. I just recently stumbled onto this author and love him!! Not only can he write from a guy's prospective but from a woman's as well. I can't wait until the next one comes out to see what will happen and who she will pick!! Very steamy!!! The only negative is having to wait. I didn't think I was going to like John Zane and was rutting for John Cruze, but now...I don't know.

OMG!!! I haven't been so desperate to get to the end of a book in a while but I'm also hating that I'm already half through the series too. I want to know the end of it all , but I don't want it to end! hA! I loved every minute of it. The only thing is I wish it were longer. Other than that, I think it's amazing so it gets 5 stars from me! I think this one of those series that has definitely been over looked and is really under rated and I think it needs so much attn. The story is great, the mc is awesome n the men are hot! What more can you want in a book?!

Good read but I definitely wouldn't have bought it unless as a bundle. Candace, a prostitute nonetheless, is caught between falling for two "Johns" -- see Breena Wilde's play on words there? Nice!

John Zane, famous producer and kink-extraordinaire, and John Cruze, famous actor and voted hottest-man-on-the-planet. Both want her. Both have her.

Volumes 1-4 flowed beautifully, all from her perspective but I honestly thought it should've just been a single novel. Got it at a great price and read it all in one sitting. Plenty of hot sex with a great storyline.

Hooked from the start. Thoroughly enjoyed all 4. Cadence is lovely, normally the females have their annoying little quirks or sometimes just generally irritate me completely but Cadence doesn't at all. I love both the Johns and wish a perfect John could be made up of the 2! However, I'm not quite sure there's a need for them to be split into different books. They flow lovely together so one complete book would've been perfect I think.

This is the story of a prostitute that wants out of the "job". She meets this guy on accident when she goes to the wrong room at a hotel. He steals her heart. Then she meets the guy she was supposed to have went to and he catches her heart too. Read to find out who she chooses and what happens to her.

I loved this series.
The dark erotic romance side was mysterious and enticing.
Each chapter pushed you on to read , craving to find out what happens next and how it would all work out!
A modern day twist on Pretty Woman with a little CSI thrown in made reading a pleasure.
I only wish that there wasnt a wait of each instalment to release.

We took a chance on this discounted book offering by Amazon and it ended up being a really good book. My s/wife and I found ourself stopping and discussing what Candace should do. I almost had to contact Breena a couple times to "fix" the story, but it worked out. We're up to book 7 now I think. It's a good series worth full price.

Cadence

Cadence has gotten herself in a pretty huge dilemma. I can't deny both guys. I find one a little too much, but I can see him falling. Mr. lover boy actor, a dream. That scene they shot...woooooow! This series will make you toss and turn with excitement. Can't wait to read the other half. Breena Wilde, your good.

Storytelling is a craft...

...and you have hit the mark dead on. I wasn't sure if I'd like a story of a woman constantly being called a whore or her being ok with it, but you made me look past that and wanted to know more of her and the people who actually wanted more of her than a whore.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would but I think this is because the 4 short stories were all together. I would have hated the short stories otherwise. Good enough story to keep it interesting around the very hot sex.
