Review:
My review of Book 1 is basically a series review, so instead of repeating everything, I’m going to focus more on the things I liked about this particular book.

And one of the things I loved about this particular book was that it was just as amazingly emotional and heart-wrenching as the first, but in a slightly different way. Whereas the first book was mostly tension, longing, not knowing who to trust, and the pain of Zoey finding out just how much Daniel had been keeping from her and how far he was from her emotionally, this one was about love and the heartbreak of the love triangle. It was about Zoey being in love with two men and knowing that she’d have chosen Daniel in a heartbeat at any other point in her life but not being sure anymore because he hurt her too many times by pushing her away; it was about Dev knowing that Zoey will never be happy without Daniel and that she’ll never stop loving him; it was about Daniel realizing that Zoey’s relationship with Dev isn’t just a fling and that he might actually lose her.

Then there was that one scene, that gloriously heartbreaking and beautiful scene near the end of the book. *SPOILER* *END SPOILER* Honestly, that scene gives goosebumps just thinking about it. The love between Zoey and Daniel is so beautiful it makes me want to cry. But the thing about all the emotion in these books is that it doesn’t matter how many times I read them or that I know what’s going to happen, Lexi Blake somehow writes in this way that just puts me in the characters’ shoes and makes me feel what they’re feeling.

And that’s not the only scene I love in this book. The fight between Daniel and Dev in the cemetery is so intense and amped up with emotion too. It’s also the first time you really get a taste of how strong both Daniel’s and Dev’s powers are.

And let's not forget the characters. Like Dev, who is downright vicious sometimes in this book. He knows exactly what to say to people to cut the deepest, and I cringe every time I read those things. But then, Daniel isn’t perfect either. He's also said some hurtful things himself, and how many times has he used the excuse of protecting Zoey when he was really just pushing her away and hurting her? But that’s exactly what I love so much about these characters—they’re truly flawed, they do crappy things and hurt each other sometimes, but I still can’t help but love them for the goodness that’s in them too.

This book is also when the vampire politics really start coming into play and the bigger plot gets started. There’s still an individual plot in each book, but there’s an overarching one as well that starts building. The more I've read these books, but more I've come to appreciate how well thought-out that bigger plot is and how Lexi Blake really manages to convey the seriousness of it. This book is also when Daniel and Dev start reluctantly working together more and trying to navigate that relationship.

Last but not least, just like the first book, this one had action, heists, supernatural creatures, humor, biting, sex, love, friendship, and so many great things! So if you liked the first one, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. This one even had an interesting twist that threw me a bit the first time I read it but that I came to love by the time I finished the series.

So overall, this is another fantastic book in a fantastic urban fantasy series!

*I've read this book multiple times. This review was written after my 3rd read.*

A very solid 4.5
Light erotica but hot steamy sex scenes. Humor, suspense, action and a lot of sass and ass kicking. Zoey does most of the sass and ass kicking. But Daniel and Dev do their fair share too.
Oh, and Neil is a fantastic character.
Well written. Great flow.
Loved it!!
Now I have to get the rest of the series.

Zoey may have won the battle against the demon Brixalnax but it didn't come without consequences. Sarah, BFF and member of her team, was tricked into selling her soul to Brix and is now in Hell where she'll spend the rest of eternity being tortured.

Daniel Donovan, vampire King & Nex Apparatus, may have claimed Zoey as his companion but lost her to Fae Prince Devinshea who SHE has claimed as her lover. When a possible plan to free Sarah is formulated, Daniel realizes he'll have to work with his nemesis in order to have a chance of success. There is also a chance Zoey will finally be able to forgive him for having wronged her and leave Dev once and for all.

Devinshea is a fertility deity and knows how to keep Zoey happy and satisfied. He's not about to risk her vampire husband getting a chance to win Zoey back so he agrees to partner up on a crazy plan to break a soul out of Hell. Little does he realize he'll have to go through his own hell in the process.

This is the second installment in the Thieves series that can be read as a stand alone but does work off Steal the Light. It is a paranormal fantasy erotic romance read that includes vampires, demons, angels, shapeshifters, and fae (oh my). I feel like I should break out in song. hehe.

I have definitely found a new favorite series in this genre. The balance between the core characters evolving relationship and the suspenseful action adventure story line complimented each other extremely well. Throw in some HAWT adult content scenes and I'd call this a win/win for the reader. My only dilemma is trying to decide if I wanted my girl to end up with the dark, dangerous, sexy, alpha vampire or eye candy outrageously rich sex God Fae Prince. Decisions. Decisions.

Best line of the book: Zoey's been a bad girl. That pretty much describes her. Saying more wouldn't be fair to any potential readers so those of you who read this book will discover how 'bad' she can be.... To vampires, shapeshifters, angels, demons, and Lucifer himself. :D

I can't stress how much I love this series. It has the flavor of the "Night Huntress," "Secret McQueen," and "Anita Blake Vampire Hunter" series but with it's own nitch. I was highly worried there would be a love triangle sort of thing that would have me spastic over which guy she would choose. So over the top ecstatic in the direction the author has chosen to go with that. Anxiously awaiting the next installment as I was really bummed about Neil.

I left it a bit too long between reading this book and writing this to give you a full review but I do know I devoured this book and that I'm looking forward to continuing the series.

This book picks up Zoey's story not long after the end of Steal the Light. Her relationship with Daniel is more complicated than ever before now that she knows exactly how many secrets he has been keeping from her, things with Dev would be going well apart from the small fact that she still loves Daniel and now her heart is torn between two men, and if that wasn't enough she has to try and figure out a way to rescue a member of her crew from hell. Yes, complicated is definitely the right word for Zoey's life right now.

Alongside plenty of action and a lot more world building when it comes to vampire politics this story gives a lot of focus to Zoey's love life and the complex relationship she has with both of the men she loves. Daniel has finally declared his feelings and decided to fight for their relationship but she's hurt by the years he's spent ignoring her and the secrets he's been keeping. At any other point she would have run into his open arms and not looked back but that was before she met Dev and let him into her heart too. For the first time Daniel is facing the fact that he might be too late to rescue their relationship while at the same time Dev wants nothing more than to claim Zoey as his own but knows she'll never be completely happy without Daniel in her life.

I'm really enjoying the way Lexi Blake is developing their relationship and definitely have high hopes that my triad wishes are going to be fulfilled as the series continues.

Slightly longer review on the blog -
 photo Potential-OTDU-Banner-9-Smaller2_zpsf0878d67.png

Lexi Blake knows how to give her primary demographic what they want - a strong woman and two smoking hot men who are gagging for her. Her men are Alpha, her friends are fun, and her enemies, whilst powerful, are more or less good natured, somewhat slapstick caricatures of completely evil antagonists, it works. The sex is pretty hot, one scene in particular although I maintain this is somewhat more New Adult than 100% adult.

There is also a strong urban fantasy/paranormal theme weaving throughout with Brixalnax, a demon from book one, having kidnapped Zoey Wharton's bestie, witch, and fellow thief, Sarah, and taken her to the Hell plain. Meanwhile, Daniel, Zoey's first everything and a powerful vampire, is still on the outer with Zoey at the beginning of Steal the Day and Dev, a seelie fey, is most definitely in.

Neil, her other bestie and gay werewolf, continues to be funny, trustworthy and naughty. I adore him.

I struggled to find anything to say. “Would you believe we were all just really tired?”
Neil took a deep inhale and looked at me with an amused light in his eyes. “Nope. The nose doesn’t lie. Then there are all the condom wrappers. It’s an impressive collection. Zoey’s been a very bad girl.”

These characters remind me of a less mature Jack Barnes, Sam Fleetwood and Abby Moore - aka Abby Barnes-Fleetwood - the first and most important triad, in my opinion, from the contemporary Texas Sirens series written by Ms Blake's alt pen name, Sophie Oak. The difference is that Jack and Sam were friends for years before Abby came into their life. In this series the two main men are opposing one another for Zoey's love and affection, but their relationship is going down the path of Sam and Jack... only with Zoey in this case. I want the love triangle to be done with. I want Zoey to stop vacillating between the two men and whining, hand-to-forehead, about how Daniel doesn't really love her, or Dev is only playing with her nicely but purely sexually. Everyone loves Zoey, even Daniel's vampire mentor, Marcus, whom I happen to think is an underutilised secondary character, adores her. Lucifer, pissed-off Brix, and Stewart, a mischievous and pretty hilarious demon also from book #1, may be irritated by her but, hey, she's Zoey.

One thing I have to mention that bothers me, it can't change anything as these books have long since been written, but I wish Ms Blake would not have two sexual orientations - gay and straight. This equals bi-erasure (we'll just stick with bi here). I know there is no malice intended, you can tell in her writing, and I've read a lot of this author. Ms Blake/Oak does take her characters into bisexual ménages in other books and given she is mostly a het romance writer I'm glad she does that, I just wish the word bisexual appeared here, in this book.

"Don’t leave me waiting too long because two dudes in bed gets gay after a while, even if we are waiting for a girl.”

Overall, this is fun - the humour can be laugh out loud - and light, whilst also quite emotional making you feel deeply for the main characters and their love or plight.

In some ways, Dev was mine. I had to share Daniel with his freaking destiny, but Dev was mine alone. I just didn’t see how I could keep him. I would never be able to leave Daniel. I was tied to him far too tightly, but my heart ached at the thought of never touching Dev again.

I know I may say that Zoey whinges about love but she is a badass in her profession and loyal as loyal can be, and she doesn't wait for a man to come and save her, she often saves them. I like that.

“Any way I can talk you out of it?”
“None.”
He slapped the gun in my hand and before that no good, backwoods, homophobic, raping son of a bitch had a chance to move, I aimed and fired.

I'll have a break and then I'll be back to read the next in the series and hope this ménage becomes a true triad, and that the action and adventures keep on coming.

Zoey, Zoey... you are a thief, NOT a bloody white knight! Zoey is a loyal friend and I'm impressed with the length she goes through for lovers, friends and family.

In this one, Zoey is still her kick butt self finding a way to get what she wants. She is going to steal someone out of the hell plane. This is not easy and her plan is completely hair-brained and makes me question her sanity. The fact that Danny and Dev follow her lead is impressive. Impressive that they love her that much that they will risk some very dangerous cons to make this work.

Whilst the "focus" is saving Sarah, this story is so much more. Dev and Dan are now working towards figuring out how they can share Zoey. In addition, it is clear that Dev is more than just a lover boy Fae who owns night clubs. His past when revealed gives a reader a better understanding of Dev and his hang ups. It also makes him more lovable for me. I'm still mixed on Danny. But really, he's Zoey's first love. A love that conquers death, how can she give him up?

The world of the vampires is starting to really take form and I don't like it. This council is definitely corrupt and the older vampires are assholes. The way all others are treated as second class citizens or slaves is distasteful. Ms. Blake does a nice job of setting up why Danny must do what he needs to do. The multiple threads in this story are cohesive and makes me flip page after page and move to the next book. I am riveted. Recommended for urban fantasy lovers who enjoy erotic menages when it first starts..

Holy wow!

***

It's a close call but I think I enjoyed Steal the Day even more than Steal the Light! Of course, being a vampire fan, it helped that Daniel held a more pivotal role here and I was able to really see him for who he is. Despite being firmly on TeamDaniel, Dev made it hard not to fall for him, especially when he proved he was more than a pretty boy out for a good time.

In Steal the Day, Zoey is set on rescuing her friend, Sarah, from Hell. While she's trying to figure out a plan, a customer comes to her with a job offer which will help in more ways than one. Once that is set in motion, Zoey must also deal with vampire politics, Daniel's secrets and plans, and Dev's new role in those particular proceedings.

Steal the Day had all the good stuff its predecessor did - fae, demons, vampires, witches, and weres, suspense, action, and romance. Then it upped the ante adding some crazy demon-worshipers, some angels, and even more goodness in the romance department. The action and suspense elements were all the more riveting thanks to Zoey since she always manages to get herself into some sort of trouble. Blake also did some world building with her vampires, showing us more vampire history, vampire society, and politics. Blake definitely tugged at my heartstrings with Zoey, Daniel, and Dev trying to work out a compromise in relation to their feelings for one another. Oh! And we got to meet Lucifer Morningstar!

Did I mention how much I love Zoey? She sometimes lets her mouth fly before her brain fully engages but she's a hoot and I wouldn't want her any other way. There was much talk of balance in this installment and that theme seemed to particularly apply to Zoey, Daniel, and Dev. Zoey's done some growing via accepting how she feels and what she wants out of her relationships with Daniel and Dev. But Daniel and Dev did the most maturing. Daniel admitted and demonstrated his feelings - but more than that, he proved the depth of them by agreeing to things that went against his against his vampire nature as well as admitting he has limitations due to his vampire nature. Dev, on the other hand, showed the depth of his feelings for Zoey by taking on a role in Daniel's life and being willing to sacrifice for her - even give her up because of his own limitations. Like I said, they each showed what they're really made of and that they'd sacrifice a lot for Zoey.

The ending just left me anxious for more. I'm eager to see what item Zoey will be contracted to steal next and why, as well as seeing where things go with all Daniel and Dev are plotting. Steal the Moon promises to be an exciting ride!

And Off to save Sarah we go. I knew it was coming. I knew we were going to rescue her.  Zoey always saves those she loves. She does everything she can for others, and oh my was this a wild ride.

With tensions not exactly in a great place between our three, it seems like the perfect time to plan another job. This time though things heat up and they heat up fast. I loved reading about the dynamic between our favorite three, and i loved every more when the angst and tension really started to heat up. How far would they push each other and who would Zoey end up with. That is where I was at. Sure there was a ton of other stuff going on, but THIS was the real story and we all know it.

Ok. I know.It wasn't. BUT IT WAS.

Lots of swoon scenes and even more scenes that left me fanning myself. If you were even remotely a fan of the first book you will LOVE this one. Things get complicated and fast. The plot jumps quite a bit and it couldn't have been any better.
Synopsis:
When a member of her crew is dragged to Hell by a demon, Zoey plans the most dangerous heist of her career. With her team at her side, Zoey intends to sneak onto the Hell plane and steal Sarah back.

I really enjoyed this one as well.
I'm in love with these characters!
My heart broke for Neil and I was slightly perplexed with Sarah's recovery, shouldn't she be a tad more traumatized?
The only annoying part in this book is the one where Dev and Daniel plan and plot and don't bother to talk to Zoey. I could understand Daniel's need for secrecy in the first book, but not this one, not after the brilliant way Zoey managed to save all of them the last time. She's intelligent, she's not a fragile doll and she shouldn't be treated as such!

If you like menage then this book is perfect. I was surprised their love triangle turned out this way, but I love it. Zoey will stop at nothing to save her friend, Sarah. Her ability to forgive betrayal is astounding since she will have to put her life on the line to steal, not one, but two souls out of hell. Daniel and Dev are forced to work together if they will have any chance of pulling this off. They are sexy and very entertaining. The emotional rollercoaster on top of everything is just the right balance to make this story fun.

Wow! Zoey is just as sassy, if not more so, than the first book. And quite the annoyance to some as she is repeatedly told. In this story, Zoey wants to go back to get Sarah from the Hell plane.

With how it ended, I can't wait to see what shenanigans Zoey gets up to next!

Amazing Series!!!

Anita Blake, Meet Zoey!!! Loved this second book the most.
Zoey is so tough. I love all the funny, heart-wrenching, sexy drama that goes on in this book and the third book. I wish more people knew about this series because it is in my top reads for right now. I'm flying through these books in my spare time.

Read this book, and I promise you'll start to feel like the characters are all an extension. Of your family.

Again, Zoey heads into another situation like a bull in a china shop. She wants to rescue her friend from Lucas Halfer's clutches, and that means going to hell to do it. But one does not simply traipse in and take people back. She needs an artifact called The Revelation to get in an out with her life intact. As she works on her half-baked plan, she also has to consider her feelings not only for Daniel but the ones developing for Dev, feeling she never expected or wanted. Being the vampire king's wife has its advantages, but it also has its disadvantages. And how will she get these men to agree on more than what they need because she can't accomplish her job without them? With Daniel almost losing his life, she finds her feelings once again in a tug of war. How will she resolve the love she has for both of them? And how will she choose?

Once again, I was enthralled by the story. It is a good one. But it seems the entire paranormal world is run by adolescents trying to "one up" each other. With Zoey knowing her place in the hierarchy, I expected her to behave a bit more maturely than she did in this second book. I think because of the way Zoey was written, as a spoiled brat who had no idea what the meaning of love was but threw the word around like she did, I won't be buying the subsequent books in the series.

Spoiler Alert: There's one moment that ruined the heroine for me. Daniel and Dev were arguing as was their norm. And Zoey stuck her nose in to defend whenever she saw fit. But when Dev brought up the fact that he could give Zoey children and Daniel couldn't, my heart broke for the vampire king. And the character was written with the pain of that jab to his pride. Had it been me, I would have probably slapped Dev, given him my two cents' worth over his low blow, and walked away. I mean... what an ass, and what a cruel thing to say! But did Zoey say anything to defend her husband? No. She spent most of the book defending Dev while Daniel was doing his best to try to show her he did feel love for her. I thought she spent too much time belittling Daniel to protect Dev's feelings. Those were the moments that made me sick. Had I not liked the story so much, I would have given it one star just for the childishness of the main character. I love a good strong female lead, but I thought Zoey needed a spanking and to be sent to her room without any privileges. If she's going to act childish, she should be punished like a child.

Through a series of contracts that couldn’t be broken, one of Zoey’s team members lands into the Hell plane. Determined to save Sarah, Zoey tries to come up with a plan to rescue the witch from the arms of a demon. In order to go into the Hell planed unnoticed, Zoey will need to obtain an artifact that is surrounded in mystery and lore. Determined to obtain the only thing that is known to make the escape from Hell easier, Zoey sets her plans in motion.

While all of the chaos to obtain the artifact in going on, Zoey has to deal with her personal life as well. Daniel finally claimed Zoey as his companion. However - his refusal to acknowledge her for so long after the change forced her into the arms of Dev. Living with a Fae Fertility God comes with its own set of challenges. Constant action in the bedroom being one of the perks that Zoey is enjoying. The lover of these two kings will need to decide which man wins her heart. The only problem? Zoey is in love with both Daniel and Dev.

Steal the Day picks up where the first book in the Thieves series leaves off. Let me tell you….I was as glued to the second novel as the first!! Demons, vampires, fae, werewolves, and other supernatural creatures grace the pages of this book like we have been around them all our lives. Bringing a type of chaos to our realm that few would have the pleasure to encounter.

Zoey and her team set out on an almost impossible task that will take them into the realms of hell. A journey that no one previously returned from without consequences. No team member has ever been left behind and Zoey has no plans to lose Sarah to the demon who holds her contract. It’s a fight to the finish, and this time there will be a price that has to be paid.

The triad of Danny, Zoey, and Dev are absolutely my favorite thing about this series. They are unconventional and soooo HOT!! The paranormal aspect of this series is so unique compared to other books in the same genre. It’s clearly one of my favorite series so far in the paranormal/fantasy genre. If you haven’t tasted the tantalizing plot of the Thieves Series….what are you waiting for??? Trust me, you will love it!

I loved the first book in this series so I started to Steal the Day immediately after I read the first book , I was so excited because I had so many High expectations for what would happen next and this book delivered on so of those expectations, Steal the Day was a fantastic second book in a series .We begin this book on the hunt to find away to break Stacey out of hell , I spent most of this book worrying about stacey and If you read the ending of book one you would be too. I love how determined everyone was to save her, it really showed you how much these characters loved each other. Zoey also was on a new job to find an artifact and the search for it had me on the edge of my seat. We also got to meet some new character in this book that just were so fasicinating and in a way made this world even bigger than it already was. Zoey's love life is still very complicated, at the end of the first book Daniel and Zoey broke up and because after dealing with Daniel and his mixed signals for so long she moved on to some one new, Dev . At the same time you could see that her feeling for Daniel were still there and her feelings towards Dev were getting more intense , omg the love triangle in this book has to be one of my favourite ones that I have read , by the end of this book , I don't think it can be called a love triangle anymore , but I won't get into further detail about that because spoilers lol . Steal the Day was an excellent second book in the theives series , it was sexy , thrilling, and kept me constantly turning the pages needing to know more . If you have not started this series yet you should , I highly recommend it or if you have started it already and your wondering if you should continue the answer is yes!.

Review is from the bundle that includes books 1-5.

I was craving some paranormal romance (PNR) lately. I read a lot of romance books and putting some PNR into the mix helps break it up and keep it fresh. Also, I just love taking an escape into a world that is completely different. Whether it's vampires, werewolves, fairy, gods, devils, and anything in between, I'll read it all.

This series by Lexi Blake has so much going for it. It's humorous, heart-wrenching, angsty, action packed, and full of so many other emotions that it's the true definition of a roller coaster book. I look forward to diving into the rest of the series where a new heroine takes center stage.

The relationship that evolves between Zoey, Daniel, and Dev was my favorite part of these books. Yes, I loved the action and all of that stuff but this thing between those 3 was what drew me in. It started out as a love triangle and became so much more. I never really rooted for one or the other guys because they both had something with her that I liked.

The only reason I didn't give this bundle 5 stars was because of the fact that there was too much sex scenes for me. I do like that in my romance books but to many can really be an overkill. Then there was the fact that sometimes their problem solving skill was sex. It magically made everything ok. I didn't buy that and I would have liked it to be solved another way.

Even though I had a couple issues with this, I still think you should give them a try. Lexi does a fantastic job at world building, story flow, engaging scenes, and drawing her audience in. I'm glad I read these books and they did fill that need I had for a good PNR story.

I really liked this book. I liked it almost as much as the first book.

I love the world-building in this series. The way the various supernatural beings interact, battle, love and get on each other's nerves was one of my favourite things about this story. I love the interactions and the human and non-human ways these characters approach inter-personal relationships.

That said, the angst and hand-wringing between Zoey, Daniel and Dev started to wear on me near the end of the book. I get why there was angst, but it took longer than I'd ideally have liked for the three of them to figure out what they were going to do, and just do it! Fortunately, the sorting did happen, and I was very happy with the eventual outcome between the three of them.

The action and suspense and adventure in this series is off-the-charts, and I loved that. I love the ass-kicking, demon-thwarting, angel-wrangling and all the rest of the adventures Zoey and company go on in this book. The story kept me reading past my bedtime on numerous evenings because I just couldn't stop. This was definitely a "just one more chapter" kind of book and that's absolutely a compliment to the author's ability to tell a really great story that draws you in and keeps you in.

The pacing and flow of the story - both the action and the romance - were also really well structured and engaged me start-to-finish. I like this series and definitely want to read future books.

Oh, in case you can't tell from the blurb, this book has sex. Lots of sex. Creative, non-traditional no-holds-barred sex that is described thoroughly and in technicolour detail. If that's not your thing this may not be for you. But if you like your action with a side of sex, this series is recommended as a great overall read!

When a member of Zoey’s crew is dragged to hell by a demon, Zoey vows to steal her back. The job seems impossible and will likely end up with Zoey and the rest of her crew also trapped in hell until a new client clues Zoey in to an artifact that will help her find her friend once in hell. The catch, Zoey also needs to use the artifact to find an angel and help him escape from hell as well, as he holds the key to Sarah’s ultimate redemption and escape.

I was thrilled to dive into another adventure with Zoey and the rest of her crew! And, with the mission of stealing a demon’s prize from hell . . . I knew it would be amazing.

Daniel is still hiding some big freaking secrets. I mean literal life changing secrets. Neil has found love. And, Zoey and Dev continue to grow closer and closer in spit eof the fact that she also still loves Daniel.

While this book was definitely faster paced than Steal the Light, I love how the author took the time and revealed so much about both Dev and Zoey’s backstory. I loved learning about what makes Zoey the person she is to be involved with so many supernaturals in a world that typically doesn’t know they exist. And, I’m also more in love with Dev than ever before.

Friend and for are not always easy to distinguish and sometimes help and allies come in crazy and unexpected forms. I loved every twist and turn, and let’s just say, that while this book did not end in a cliffhanger per se, there is a major story arc left unresolved that I can’t wait to see play out surrounding Daniel and the Vampire council . . .all heck breaks lose as those secrets start being revealed, and I can’t wait! 4.5 stars

Oh boy the second book got more into Zoeys world and Devin hotter as ever. I loved that it is the Revelation that can bring everybody together yet nobody knows what it really is. I was quite surprised that Zoey is growing into Daniel and Devin's world in a way that we see her growing up before our eyes. Now Daniel and Devin, well these are two sexy men that applaud Zoey for having both of them in her life. The passion they share is unlike any ménage a trios we see which just makes their relationship hotter than ever. Loved it. Once again Lexi Blake doesn't pull any stops getting us more into this world, Daniels and Devins lives are in one word strange yet in a way comfortable. This is one series that reader's do not want to pass.
