My side of the family does a homemade Christmas each year, which brings equal parts of satisfaction and frustration. The year we made cutting boards - low cost, high quality - that was a great year. Last year I made body products - high cost, great fun - not as well received by the men. But now I'm on the path of natural products and can't turn back. Most of the stuff I made I found on Pinterest. I liked this book because it had very different recipes that I hadn't seen before. I did go spend a small sum of money (and when I say small sum it's because I don't want to admit how much I actually spent) to get some of the ingredients. I tried the oil cleansing on my face last night and it worked! My face is naturally oily and it is daunting to use oil to clean, but it strangely dried out my face. I'm excited to try some of the other recipes. And, because I know you are wondering, this year's Christmas project is quilling little pictures - insane frustration, but they are slowly getting better.
So basically you're going to take every spice everything from your fridge and kitchen and everything from your garden and makes it all together and use it all over your body in your bath on your eyes and your hair. Nothing is wasted here. All jokes aside I can't wait to try this mermaid bath. I think everybody's going to get bath bombs for Christmas. And the spa refreshing drinks I will make this weekend.
I love, love, love to make natural skin care products! I could fill my house with books upon books upon books on natural and holistic care for the mind, body, & spirit. 100 Organic Skincare Recipes is a lovely addition to my collection.
The book is well laid out, and the recipes are detailed and super easy to follow. There are some recipes in there you may have trouble sourcing ingredients; most recipe ingredients are easily found online, and there are plenty of recipes that most people already have the ingredients right in their kitchens. Some sound so unbelievably delicious I'd have a hard time using them instead of eating them, like the Coco-Superfruit Mask and the Chocolate Lip Scrub! I could list recipe after delicious recipe!! It's making me want to have a group spa day with friends and family!!
If you're looking for a good book on Do-It-Yourself spa day ideas, go get 100 Organic Skincare Recipes, you won't be disappointed! Then make yourself a little somethin' special, put your feet up and relax. Heavenly.

just about every recipe is geared only around Asian products, and Asian scents. EVERY recipe calls for special and unique/rare ingredients. For example. 'rose' and its constituents are a big favorite in this book. After taking 20 minutes looking closely at this book, I can only say, it was a waste of money. It is by NO means diverse. And its recipes are too specialist. This book '100 Organic skin care recipes' is only written as an excuse for one company to sell its own flavor of products easier. I will be throwing this book in the trash and researching authors much more thoroughly, next time I buy a book in this category.
There are so many wonderful formulations in this book!!! I can't wait to get started on them!! I also love how she lists the shelf life after each formulation. Very helpful!!
¡Me encanto! Tiene recetas para todo tipo de necesidad, piel, con ingredientes fáciles de conseguir y aparte te explica a detalle los beneficios de cada ingrediente. 100% recomendado
I found some of the recipes in this book more complicated - and more bothersome - than I wanted to deal with. (If I have to wear a face mask to mix dry grains for a face scrub... then it's not as safe or easy as I want it to be.)
However, I did find a handful of solid recipes I'm excited to try, mostly face products. Also, this book as a ton of moisturizing and scrubbing recipes, so someone else will find lot of use for this book.
A lot of these recipes look very useful and luxurious, but not very accessible for me personally as some of the ingredients are hard to get (especially at a reasonable price). I do really like the idea of everything you put into and on your body being organic, simple, and natural.
I found most of the recipes not my cup of tea or too involved, requiring too many special or unusual ingredients. However, if they interest you, the recipes are detailed and easy to follow.
After reading the book, I’m not motivated to try out any recipe. It involves mostly fresh food, in small quantity, and requires some work (grinding/blending) for single use. For me it’s too much hassle if I want to apply the treatments a few times a week. Most of the ingredients are also not pantry staples, so I’m not too movitated to try.
On the other hand, she did a good job explaining the steps and storage advice.
