This was a good book, a bit dark and heavy for Christmas though.

This was a great love story, however, there were a lots of scary, unpredictable, and highly anticipated and emotional scenarios. The author had an excellent way of capativing her readers from the beginning of the story until the powerful ending.

I really enjoyed this book. I felt sorry for Joanne for losing her husband and daughter but then when she started hearing voices and having feelings that her daughter was still around.

SUMMARY: In a frantic search for her daughter during the season of hope, Joanna unraveled the web of one man's hatred...and came face-to-face with the truth she'd known all along.

REVIEW: This is not what you would expect from the title, but rather is a dramatic suspense story that includes romance, suspense, danger and courage. The two main characters are filled with strengths and weaknesses that complement one another as Joanna and Benjamin work together to follow Joanna's gut instincts about her lost daughter. It was also interesting to see the antgonist from his second wife's point of view. The story line has enough twists and turns to keep the reader's interest although the final outcome is fairly predictable, and the author did a good job of increasing the tension as the story proceeds. If you are a mystery reader, I would definitely recommend this one.

FAVORITE QUOTES: "As if the pastor knew her need, he spoke about evil attacks on God's children. 'It's like a war, a battle of good and evil. God cries to us in one ear while the sin beguiles us in the other. We need selective hearing when it comes to good and evil."

"God doesn't promise us moonlight and roses. He's give us free will to make choices. Some poeple choose evil, and some choose good. Sometimes good people are hurt while bad people go free. We're not puppets, bouncing around at God's whim. He's given us options to make what we can of our lives and to love Him without question."

'It's like marriage - for better or worse--alove that doesn't fail when hard times come."

Finding Christmas by Gail Gaymer Martin is not the Christmas story I expected. I expected a sweet love story and was pleasantly surprised and immediately drawn in to a story of suspense, heartache, and forgiveness. I do believe this is my favorite Gail Martin book yet!
The story starts out with Joanna, a widow, who is “hearing” her dead daughter’s voice crying out for her. Her co-workers and friends think maybe she’s a little kooky or just stressing out because the Holidays are upon her. But she knows her heart and can’t put the feeling aside that her daughter is alive. When she begins to receive phone calls that confirm her suspicions, it’s all she can do to make it through her workdays without letting things consume her. Her old friend, Benjamin, has returned to town with a secret he cannot share with her yet. He wants to help her forget about the things that trouble her but even he can’t dismiss the strange phone calls as a hoax. Together they attempt to figure out the mystery behind the calls and they learn to depend upon each other whether they ever discover the truth behind her husband’s and her daughter’s deaths.
There were so many surprising twists in this book that caught me off guard. I couldn’t put this one down. It’s definitely a page-turner. It would make a great gift for someone’s stocking.
