In this volume Luke's still trying to rescue his wife from the government. At the same time, she's trying to escape. And the government has unleashed Beta to go after the clones.

The series keeps being entertaining but volume two feels more of a volume 1.2. Yeah, ok, we learn there's a new generation of killer clones but Luke is still running away.
Having the wifey being locked up for two volumes was getting a bit boring, I want to see her more involved in the action instead of being the damsel in distress.
The psycho-killer guy was too on the nose mainly because he doesn't have a reason to be so ruthless. I wanted someone to shot him in the balls but not because he was a threat to the protagonist but because he was a pain in the ass.

Clone reads like an action movie that doesn't quite get to blockbuster. I would like the book to explore the dilemma of cloning a bit more, it did at the beginning of the series but now the guys in charge seem more interested in trying to kill/sabotage each other. The office politics also feel disjointed from the main action.

All the clones have tattoos of their numbers on their left forearms: 2 digits for the mothers, 2 digits for the location, and 2 digits for their birth order (so, 99 is highest that can be attained). The alpha, or Original however, has a different tattoo -- the Greek letter for alpha. (which makes 100)

They are called the First Generation.

The Original's name is Luke. And he's the one with the wife who conceived a girl child. (The baby doesn't have a mole now. It did in the first book to hint at it being a clone, I guess.)

Luke's father is who started all this; he and all the clones (including Luke) AND the baby girl, all have a prominent mole just under their right eye. Weird.

Now, there's been made a Second Generation, more ruthless, less emotional, enhanced in every manner possible. They're been deployed to take out the rest of the First Generation. (Hmmm. At least half of them are dead. If 100 of the Second were made, their task should be a cakewalk.)

It's a good thing the First Generation has help.

Those women I mentioned from Vol 1? They may be proportional more like real women, but the clothes are still painted on for the adolescent male reader. Heck, the wife who just gave birth the day before has her smaller tummy back, is wearing only underwear, is NOT leaking milk from her breasts, and isn't wearing the desperately need super maxi pads for all that after birth uterus draining. Sure, she'd be emotional, but, believe me, she should be suffering severely, needing food and water by the gallons. I know this is "just a comic" but a little reality would be nice. They DID show a gunk covered baby in the last volume!

Assinik disease. Luke has it (why don't the clones??), it went into remission instead of killing him before the age of 2 (the Internet spells it ASSINK after two girls who first had it) -- and it's re-emerging, at his age of 30ish.

And to fix it again, this comic then JUMPS THE SHARK.

This delivers exactly what you would expect if you had read the first volume - an underwhelming sequel that throws classic action clichés into the story to keep it going.

Our main character is looking to find his wife and baby from a high security government compound (and is now having to deal with fending off a life threatening condition that has similarities to Jason Statham's problems in Crank). She is trying to break out in the meantime. And all the while, the government unleashes another clone - stronger than all the others in every area (naturally) - to kill all previous clones. Throw in the villainous secretary pulling the strings, who is hellbent on destroying the clones for no obvious reason, and yet another evil-but-very-clever clone who is confined to a wheelchair and can only talk through a voicebox, and you have yourself an utterly ridiculous story.

Fun though. I'll absolutely return for the third volume.

Writers who don't write comic books don't always realize its not the same as prose or a screen play. The writers here speed race to the end of the book trying to pack as much bloodshed into each page. There is next to zero exposition. Characters are all transparent and one note. There are no levels. The story gets even more ridiculous and is disappointing as there are bones of a good book here. Sadly, this book is an unfortunate misstep.

I can't believe I have to wait for Volume 3 to arrive from Amazon. None of the local stores have it. I guess that's what I get for coming late to the party.

A fun continuation of the series, things escalate and grow in scope. Fun action ride with compelling characters.

I said this about the first volume:

Warning! There might be one or two stars too much in my rating due to my love of Juan Jose Ryp art. Story is not an anything earth shattering type, your basic scifi-premise. I hope the plotline will grow from this , i see some potential beyond the art here. This is a quick read, if you want to spend less than an half hour with, say, maybe by morning coffee, this a good choice. I will buy the next volume for the aforementioned reason.

Same goes for this one, and the plotline does grow up a little bit. The art is maybe even better this time, an echoes of Geof Darrow. Action is the keyword here. Fast-paced, i read this one during my morning coffee (2 cups, black, no sugar, about 40 minutes). Roll on volume number 3!

Again I felt this book was just okay. I think the problem is that these books are action packed and there is a lot of plot development that is meant to grab our attention quickly. It plays out like an intense action film and while it is fun, what we need is a bit more character development because as a result I wasn't really attached to the characters. The plot is intriguing and some of the action sequences were impactful and shocking but we also need more moments where things slow down so we get to know the characters. I also didn't really appreciate the shower scene. The cliche creepy guard really wasn't necessary.

I enjoyed the happy ending. Some parts were far fetched; however I still enjoyed the read. Nice graphics. Cloning at its best. I like the ladies helping Luke; warriors but still ladylike. I'll read next book in series.

Disclaimer: I borrowed a copy from the library and giving my honest opinion of the graphic novel.

I liked the first volume, and continued to enjoy the second volume. Honestly, if Ryp is drawing it, I'll probably read it. Tight action, fast-paced plot, resolutions for some plot points, and a cliffhanger for the next volume.

Pretty much what I expect when I turn on the SyFy channel at 3AM on a Tuesday. It's hard not to get caught up in the story, but at the same time, it's a lot of familiar tropes and B-movie magic mushed together to keep things going.

In this volume, the kidnapped wife uses her sexuality to manipulate one of the clones and break free. WHAT A SHOCKING DEVELOPMENT. Between the stereotyping and the art, I pretty much lost interest in this series. It's a little too over the top for my liking.

Interesting, but kind of run of the mill conflict and dialog.
