Enjoyable story about the people of Rust Creek Falls who experience a devastating flood and how the community pulls together to help each other out.
Kindergarten teacher-heroine Willa Christensen used to have a crush on town bad boy Collin Traub, but he rejected her advances one night (four years ago) at the local bar. So she tries to avoid him as much as possible. But now, after he rescues her during the storm/flood, her old feelings for him are starting all over again. And she’s seeing him in a whole new light.
Willa was a nice and likable heroine. Collin was a great hero. Collin and Willa were neighbors and knew each other since childhood. He was always attracted to Willa but four years ago he didn’t want to take advantage of Willa when she came on to him at the bar because she was on the rebound after her boyfriend dumped her. But now Collin can’t seem to resist her. I also liked Willa’s dog, Buster.
I really enjoyed this book. The storyline was very interesting, dealing with a huge flood and its aftermath on the small community… the cleanup and the rebuilding. It was nice seeing the whole town pull together to help each other out.
A great read by Christine Rimmer with a sweet couple and a cute dog.

Very good book. It starts out with the river flooding out half the town. Willa is trapped in her car and Collin is the one who rescues her. Willa is glad to be safe but not real happy that it was Collin who did it. Four years ago she had made advances to him and been rejected. Hurt and humiliated she does her best to avoid him now. Being trapped together makes her realize that she was being silly and she and Collin decide to let the past be and become friends. Over the next few days she sees a side of Collin that she never expected. The man with the reputation of the town troublemaker has become one who is calm in a crisis and able to get things done. The more time she spends with him the more she realizes that she is falling for him. I love the way that Willa can see the good in him and tries so hard to make him see it too. I really liked the fact that she admitted that she had misjudged him. I also enjoyed seeing her stand up to her brother and make him understand that he didn't need to worry about her love life.
Collin is the youngest of the six Traub boys and as such had managed to escape a lot of the supervision that his brothers had received. As a result he grew up being pretty wild and good at getting into trouble. He had a reputation as a bit of a heartbreaker because he doesn't get serious about any woman. He feels that because of that reputation he isn't really good enough for anything permanent with a woman so he doesn't try. This was the main reason he had rejected Willa all those years ago. He's always liked her and has been amused by her avoidance techniques, but he's ready to end that silliness. Getting trapped with Willa gave him that chance, but created another problem. He discovered that he was also very attracted to her. As they spend time together working on the flood cleanup he tries very hard to fight his growing feelings. I loved the way that he finally gave up the fight, but he still didn't believe that he was someone that would be good for her. As many times as she told him just how wonderful her was he still couldn't believe in himself. It took awhile for him to realize just how much he loved her, but his big moment at the end was fantastic.
I really enjoyed the background story of the flood and how people are coping with it. This book shows some of the devastation and the emotions that go with it. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series and how the people of Rust Creek Falls repair their town and their lives.

Montana Mavericks: Rust Creek Cowboys continuity series.
Marooned with the Maverick was a good story. I liked the plot. The characters. Could have done withou love scenes. Like the town coming together to take care of each other in a crisis.
Willa for the last four years every time she saw Collin come into a room she would leave. She wanted no part of him. Willa is trying to get out to her folks ranch to check on her runaway dog and gets trapped in her car.
Collin is right behind her going to check on his family ranch while they are gone to a family wedding. He sees Willa trapped and rescues her. The river has flooded and levee breached. He parks his truck out of danger and then joins Willa headed up the hill to her family barn.
They are both soaked because of all the rain and cold flood water. The barn is full of animals taking shelter. Their are plenty of blankets in the tack room to keep them dry. First time in four years that Willa has been in the same room and talking to him.
As Willa learns from watching Collin she realizes that their is more to the man than just the family troublemaker. He saved her life from being trapped and washed away in her car. Got her warm and comfort him and helped her get to her family ranch and then check on others and help where he was needed.
They are both willing to take care of others as they rescue people and animals trapped from flood water and clean up. The story was easy to follow. Kept you interested in the community and wanting to know what happens next to the town. Has drama, humor and fun.

This was an Awesome story. Some parts had me holding my breath, the action, suspense, and Romance was a perfect blend.
Willa, and Collin knew each other as kids. They secretly had always had a crush on each other. Willa had always run away from Collin anytime she saw him. Collin had a reputation of being the town bad boy. Willa was now a school teacher. Willa got to see who Collin really was when he saved her during the flood. He also stood up, to help the town out. Willa liked what she saw. Collin on the other hand still had insecurity on how he thought people saw him. In so many books when a Hero, or Heroine has insecurity’s you hear it over and over. In this story it added to the story nicely, but was not over kill. The author is very talented. I like how the friendship between Collin, and Willa grew into something special. I didn’t feel like it rushed. I had waited for this book to come out, and it did not disappoint.

This book tell the story of Collin and Willa. Colin is the town bad boy while Willa is a kindergarten teacher. Willa find that Collin is very annoying when he kept following her around and they seems to have crush on each other though they were too young to know that. But when Collin rejected Willa’s advances on her 21st birthday, Willa have been avoiding him since. The story started with Willa caught in the middle of the flood and her car was swept away. Collin who happened to be nearby, saved her and they were forced to spend time together at Willa’s parent home when they were stranded. It was there, Willa get to see the real Collin. He saved her from being drowned, checking on her and comforted her. All these have make her attracted to him even more. So much more that she moved into his house. Collin knows that with Willa moving into his house, he is actually jeopardising her reputation and deep down, he know commitment is something he can’t give to her. But he just could not leave her alone.
I like the story very much. A story that warmth your heart reading it. I like the way Wilma stand up to Collins when he belittled all the things that he did. He clearly taken the reputation that the town associate him with. I like Collin and Wilma but reading thru their story, I couldn’t help but being angry with him for his refusal in accepting the truth and his continued denial of his feeling for her. Overall, it is a good read for me ;)

Willa Christensen has been on the run from Colin Traub for years. Growing up with him being the wild child Traub, she has known him her whole life. She had even been rejected by him after throwing herself at him. But it isn't until she is stranded with him during a devasting flood in the county that she really gets to know him.
Colin Traub is the bad boy he has always appeared. He might have saved Willa, but he is not going to sleep with her. Well, maybe after they get done saving themselves, and rescuing others trapped around them.

I started this book, not knowing the theme and was quickly drawn into the story. While reading Marooned with the Maverick, the real Colorado flooding was occurring. It was interesting to read this book while a parallel story was happening in real life.
This is a truly well written book that had me cheering for the main characters! I can't wait to read the following books and hope to see these two again!

MAROONED WITH THE MAVERICK is a cute and quick romance read. The story begins with a bang- Rust Creek is flooding and Willa is in trouble. Luckily, Collin sees her and is able to rescue her from her car. However, Willa still hasn't forgiven him for dancing with her and then turning her down four years earlier. Her plan of avoiding him forever is coming to an end when they must shelter in the barn overnight.
After a nighttime cuddle, they end up spending more time together and mostly putting the past behind them. Collin has changed, and Willa finds herself still quite attracted to him. The feeling is mutual, but Collin must first get past his worries about not being the right guy for her.
With adorable scenes and some steamy ones, this is a solid romance that turns pages quickly. It's easy to read in one sitting and so would make a great beachy read. It's easy to see why it's being turned into a movie- it's fast and all-around cute. Highly recommend for people who like reformed bad boys and sweet romance.

Interesting storyline, against the backdrop of a flood; showcasing small town community all coming together to help each other in time of need...the book blurb gives an idea of the storyline...he is a trouble maker and she is the good girl, and both of them have been aware of each since childhood (perks of living in small town that everyone knows everyone), and, so, this event brings them together, they get to spend time with teach other, chit chat and eventually get onto their HEA...I've already read another book from this series...but then, I usually enjoy the small town HEA books:-)

I found this to be a very good read, I was able to read in only a couple hours. When the small town was devastated by a flood, the local bad boy and the school teacher that had a crush on him when she was younger have to work together. I enjoyed the chemistry between Willa and Collin. I would certainly recommend this book to others.

El hecho de que se conocieran y el hecho de que se deseaban desde antes, me dio mera curiosidad para adentrarme en su historia, allí tuvieron obstáculos. Si, pero ambos supieron cómo sobrellevar las cosas.

Collin rescues Kindergarten teacher, Willa Christensen during a flood and they spend a night in the same barn. Willa has been avoiding Collin for 4 years - ever since she tried to kiss him after he'd flirted with her and he shot her down (for her own good apparently). So she's uncomfortable being in his presence and he just wants her to stop so they can be civil to one another. They end up coming out of the experience friends, but both Collin and Willa want more. Collin is still hesitant because he knows he's the town bad boy and isn't the settling type and is worried about her reputation. Willa doesn't really care about all that because she just really wants to have sex with him. So Collin becomes a hero, her best friend and her lover but for how long?
This was kind of blah for me. Well written and all that, but not all that exciting. Collin was okay, but I found Willa pretty childish. Avoiding a guy who turned you down for 4 years...and not just passively avoiding, I mean in a cartoon like way - he'd walk in and she'd walk out. Pretty ridiculous for someone in their twenties. And that angst there at the end...what was that? The people (main characters aside) in this story also felt just a bit too perfect - no one overly stubborn, people actually apologize for their mistakes, people not cursing at all This also had a strange mix of wholesome and sexy, which I'm not sure I cared for so much, but that's just me.

This was an enjoyable book with interesting characters, finding love and how a town pulls together after a devastating flood.
We have the gorgeous rapscallion Collin Traub who was branded a trouble maker, the town bad boy, a heart-breaker and womanizer. That does not paint a pretty picture but he has changed in the last couple of years but no one has taken the time to notice.
Our heroine is the beautiful and beloved kindergarten teacher, Willa Christensen. She has had Collin on the brain and in her heart for many years but he rejects her and now she avoids him at all cost.
There is an unfortunate storm that won't quit and most of the town is flooded leaving many homeless. Guess who gets stuck together during this horrific weather? Yep...you guessed it and they quickly become attached at the hip. There are several problems with this: Another man has asked her to marry him and she is thinking it over. Collin knows his reputation and does not what it to sully the lovely kindergarten teacher so he does his best to fight it. There is a lot of self-talk and self-thought that I feel was a bit too redundant but other than that it was a very sweet love story.
I highly recommend this story as well as the 'Montana Mavericks: Rust Creek Cowboys' and the 'Montana Mavericks: What Happened at the Wedding.' I always enjoy Christine Rimmer's books and would like to also recommend 'The Bravo Royales Series.'

This was a double win for me, being a fan of Christine Rimmer and Montana Mavericks. This was a quick paced book. The story centered around a flood that tore through the small town of Rust Creek Falls. For many in the east coast Hurricane Sandy is still fresh in their minds, in 2012 the Hurricane obliterated a substantial chunk of the Atlantic seaboard.
The heroine has been avoiding Colin for the past four years, he walks into a room and she walks out. After getting saved by Colin during the town flood, her feelings for him start to change.. She begins seeing more of the "man" and not the playfully mischievous person he has been labeled to be. This story introduced you to many great characters, we cheered and cried for their losses. The author did a great job depicting the flood and the how a small town pulled together. I can't wait to read what is in store for the characters, how their lives intertwine and how Rust Creek Falls I'm really looking forward to the read the rest of the series and find out how the people of Rust Creek Falls repair their town and their lives.

This was an intense book from the very beginning. It was a really good read. The characters were perfect for each other, but wouldn't do anything about it. It got to the point where I was starting to get frustrated with them. They did finally end up realizing it though. Even before that, they had developed a really good friendship that was really sweet.
This book seemed to go really fast. The whole book took place over the time when the town was flooded, and while they cleaned up the town. It was fast, but just enough to keep me interested.
Overall, I really liked this book. The main problem I had with it was that there were aspects of Church and such in the book, but the characters were sleeping together outside of marriage. I wish the author would have chosen one or the other. If there is a religious aspect to the book, I wish it would be throughout every aspect of the book.

I really enjoyed the setting of this book. It opens with a devastating flood that wipes out part of a small mountain town in Montana. During the aftermath of the flood, Willa and Collin become friends then lovers. They knew each other growing up and both had crushes on each other yet neither acted on it because he’s a bad boy and she’s a good- girl. Apparently in Montana, bad boys can’t date good girls? It’s this lack of believable conflict that kept me from fully engaging in the romance. Also, neither Willa nor Collin really pop as fully formed people to me. They seem a bit vague and flat.
What did capture my attention is all the flood stuff. I think the author did a great job describing what it's like to experience that kind of natural disaster and how it affects a small town and its citizens.

Willa and Collin were throwing together after 4 years of Willa avoiding him. The chemistry is defiantly there between them, subtle at first but defiantly there. Collin has always been the bad boy of the small town and he is trying to do the right thing with Willa but she is making it difficult. Collin doesn’t care what the town thinks of him but he does worry about Willa’s reputation.
The storyline was easy to get into and had a great flow, nothing super steamy and hot but a nice romantic read.

I loved Collin and Willa's story. For a change, Mr. Bad boy was trying so hard to do the right thing. Low on self esteem but high on adrenaline, he was in a tough bind thinking he wasn't good enough for the Kindergarten teacher though he wanted her so bad. Worried about the towns people and the flood, and Willa's reputation all at the same time, and wondering how he could ever measure up to what she deserved. Highly recommend this book. Great job Christine. Can not wait for the next one.

Really cute afternoon book. It was pretty somber and simple. Basically, two people opening their eyes to each other after a tragedy. Perfect book to read on a rainy day considering it is about a lot of rain and damage.

Love is unconditional, it is able to overlook flaws and also tries to bring out the best in the beloved; it never tries to change the beloved but still makes him/her realist how special they are, and gives space too....patience is painful..but love makes u do things that otherwise u would never think of doing....
