Lucky Girl is the sequel to Dear Rockstar….which I totally loved…https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... .

I felt something was missing in Lucky Girl….not saying I hated exactly but it just fell a bit flat for me….
 photo asYo0eV_zps7dclwmqx.gif
The story felt a bit rushed – okay, it is a short book….just over 150 pages…so maybe that’s the reason for it.
However, I never felt the connection I had with Dale & Sara in the first book. There were all these things happening so fast and resolved even faster…it was like being on a hundred meter sprint!!!

This story focus is on Sara’s past history and a bit of Dale’s too and how they both deal with the secrets they have been keeping are suddenly revealed. I would have liked a bit more pages on the band and their music…..

Sara’s problems are pretty awful………not only does she have to deal with her “step-beast” but also the sudden appearance of a guy who proclaims to be her long lost father!!! That plot was a bit OTT…it just didn’t make sense ….both Sara’s reaction and her supposed lost father’s behavior!!!!

Poor Dale….I really like this guy!!! He’s real and nice!!! Too nice for a rockstar I thought at times!!!

Anyway, all Sara & Dale’s issues are very quickly resolved ……at a very quick and fast pace!!!!

So, in the end……I did like the epilogue!!! It was sweet and cute!!!

PS……Is it just me that thinks that the Black Diamond band members are a bit unappealing??? Wait, take Dale out of that equation…but the rest!!!! They just so unappetizing!!!!!

Travel back in time for a rockstar romance, a time where....

This is the follow up book Dear Rockstar, a look at what happens once Dale Diamond gets a recording contract, goes on tour and has to balance his new stardom with the girl, Sara, who owns his heart. Life for these two isn't easy, between having to hide a relationship to ensure that Dale's face remains plastered on the wall of teen girls across the globe and their pasts coming back to haunt them.

Although I enjoyed Lucky Girl, I think Dear Rockstar packed more of a punch. More to deal with the discover of a lot of Sara's past and watching how Dale handled her and cared for her. That was in this story still, but it wasn't as dramatic. But what I enjoyed is that although it was a story about a rockstar, it was not the focus of the story. When the hero is in a band, the drama doesn't always have to be about the groupies and the insecurities. Lucky Girl's focus was on the story of these two and the challenges that faced them in discovering what was important in life and battling back the demons of the past.

I enjoyed the book overall. It was a light read that was i was able to finish quickly and although there was some predictability with a particular part, there was still some surprises that came out of nowhere.

Lucky Girl is the follow up to Dear Rockstar in the Rockstar Romance series. I have been dying for it to be released after reading Dear Rockstar, which is the book that inspired my book boyfriend shelf on Goodreads.

I loved Lucky Girl, it didn’t have the same intensity for me that Dear Rockstar did, but I still loved it. We follow Dale and Sara now on this journey through Dale’s success as they navigate through a manager who doesn’t really have Dale’s best interest at heart, through secrets and baggage from the past coming up (on both sides), through family problems, friendships, we get to see it all.

Dale and Sara still have this beautiful hot love that we as readers are really hoping will stand the test of time with one of them being a famous rock star and one of them having an insanely painful past.

I think the only thing I could have wanted in this book was more of Dale and Sara together, more time with just them where they were completely focused on each other and not the chaos surrounding them. Although, that kind of was the whole point of the book, Dale is now a star, will their relationship survive it. I get why there wasn’t more. :)

All in all, another excellent book by Emme Rollins, one of my most favorite authors. She has a knack for writing hot romances with the perfect amount of drama to draw us in.

I have been anticipating the return of Sara and Dale, one of my favorite book couples. It was well worth the wait! Lucky Girl was shorter than the first but packed with lots of action!

It opens two years later. Dale has found success as a hot rock star, and Sara has graduated from art school and found a job in designing shirts in a small t-shirt store. She is living with Dale's dad as he is on the road a lot. Things seem to be going well for them, but the past has a way of coming back and affecting the future? Will their relationship be strong enough to survive the oncoming storm that is approaching them?

I loved both books in this series. They are very different to me. The first one was filled with such darkness and sadness, and this one seems to have more lightness. Dale is still the perfect book boyfriend, and indeed, Sara is one Lucky Girl!

My favorite quotes:

Dale: "I'm going to spend the rest of my life trying to be the man you see when you look at me."

Sara: "You are him." "You always were."

This is why I love Dale and Sara. Great job again, Emme!

The story of Dale and Sara continues in this book Lucky Girl. It is a couple of years later, Dale's career is taking off, his band is touring and his hit song is at number 8 creeping to number 1. Sara finished art school, got a job and is living with Dale's Dad John. Secrets come out, Lost family memembers are found and Dale and Sara's love grows stronger. This book is Dale and Sara's happy ending. Dale is a great guy, a great book boyfriend, he is very protective of Sara and he needs to be. At the end of book one, you were left wanting more of an ending for Dale and Sara and this book gives it to you.

This was an okay read. I didn't know it was the second book in the Dear Rockstar series so I was a little lost and unable to connect to the characters. I also wish I would have felt more of Sara and Dale's connection. What was brought to the page just wasn't enough for me to invest myself in the outcome of this story.

This story just happens really fast. Everything changes in like 3 pages and then Sara is heartbroken but then after she's suddenly happy, everything is okay. I like the revelation near the end. It was actually surprising.

I really enjoyed Lucky Girl! It takes off two years after where Dear Rockstar leaves off and we are taken on Dale's journey to fame and fortune, it isn't always a easy road. Dale and Sara go through soo much this book just as they did the last. There are many surprising twists and some I would of never guessed. I was a little upset that Dale didn't stick up more for Sara against his manager and such, but being young, that time and just starting, I get it. Just a TINY bit disappointed in him. But loved him even more this book, he loves Sara so much it's so sweet :-)
Can these two crazy kids make their relationship work? can past demons come between them? does fame change Dale? You will have to read to find out :-)
I really enjoyed the first and second book and can only hope Miss. Emme gives us another with the future of babies and maybe more of Dales career or even some other members of the band like bear, I was really intrigued by his character. So many questions I need answers to. Great series!

Some quotes i loved:

"I told you, I'll always come for you."

" let's go walk down the aisle, handsome. We'll get in trouble later."

"He's just Fred Flinstone to your Wilma, isn't he?"

"You don't need to give me everything. You are my everything."

"Wow. I always wanted to get a dog so I could be greeted like that, but I think I like this much better."

"I'm going to spend the rest of my life trying to be the man you see when you look at me."

"I've found sometimes the best things in life are crazy."

Again, as with Dear Rockstar, I was torn between 3 and 4 stars, for very different reasons. In Lucky Girl, the characters did seem to stay true to themselves more than in Dear Rockstar, but it does continue to have some of the same issues with rushed twists that don't quite add up. Without going into true spoiler territory I am still rather confused about what the truth was in the Sally Jesse Raphael-esque talk show. And the fact that they ended up there seems to be a bit out of character for the band manager, so I guess not all of those issues were resolved.

There were things I really did enjoy about this book though, don't get me wrong. I loved everything about Aimee's wedding - so many fantastic moments in that section of the book alone. The erotic parts were 5 star without a doubt, Ms. Rollins really excels at these. I was so happy to see more of John in this one; he is such a fantastic father figure, as well as wise and funny. There is plenty of drama, though some seem a bit over the top, and others a bit predictable. I also noticed more editing issues with this sequel than I did in the first book.

Overall, it is definitely not a bad book, but much like its predecessor, something I can't quite put my finger on is missing. I will recommend it to anyone who read Dear Rockstar as it does continue the story and tie up some loose ends leftover from it. For mature audiences for explicit sexual situations, and some trigger warnings for domestic violence/child abuse, but none as intense as in the first book.

I liked the first book in the Dear Rockstar series and this one was just as good. It was a nice continuation and closing (if that's the case) of the Dale and Sara saga.

Dale is on his way to becoming a huge rock star, meaning thousands and thousands of female fans that don't want their idol to have a girlfriend, let alone a fiancee. Sara is going with the flow, letting Dale have his time in the spotlight as to not resent her later on. She is working and living with Dale's dad John while Dale is cutting his album and gearing up for a tour.

Things are messy for this couple and stay that way pretty much throughout the book. There were quite a few loose ends in the first installment and believe it or not new ones in this second one. Dale and Sara have to learn how to live the rock star lifestyle while still dealing with issues from their past.

I liked how solid Dale and Sara are as a couple, you read the blurb and figure the first thing Dale will do is stray after hitting the big time, but he is so in love with Sara and her with him. She still needs protecting from her past and new problems she is facing now. This girl has been through a lot in her young years and seems to be stronger for it.

This is a great second book, there are lots of questions answered and gaps filled in for both Dale and Sara. I loved the ending and would like to see what else may be in store for this unique couple. Well, as long as it isn't anything bad, they have suffered enough.

As much as I enjoyed Dear Rockstar, this one left me feeling a little flat.

I was excited to head back to the 80's with Sara and Dale and to see what was in store for them. Part of my problem was that it didn't have that same 80's feel as Dear Rockstar and that is what really drew me in.

Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy this. I just had a few issues.

What made me really, really happy? The ending. I am really glad that it turned out this way, because my heart was breaking. And I really did not see it coming.

My issues:

It was only 150 pages and I don't think that was long enough time to fully develop this story.

The whole issue with Sara's biological father left me feeling unsettled. I mean, really, she accepts him, just like that? There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of emotion involved.

And then there is the "step-beast", I would've liked to know more about what happened there.

All in all, it was enjoyable for what it was. If you've read Dear Rockstar, it won't kill you to read this (its only 150 pages), but you won't die if you don't. It might give you a little piece of mind though.

Winning the ARC of Lucky Girl by Emme Rollins gave me a great reason to read her first book Dear RockStar. I will admit that I liked Lucky Girl better, because both Sara and Dale had matured being that the second book was set 2 years after the first.
I think the hero and my favorite character in Lucky Girl was Dale's dad John. He was loving, caring, always looking out for Sara and Dale. He was like the glue that kept everything together. And it made me happy that he too found love in this story. Sara becomes like a daughter to John. She stays behind living with John back in New Jersey finishing school and then working while Dale's band was away recording and touring .
I think my least favorite character is a toss-up between Dale's mother who had a few screws loose and Dales Manager / Agent who coerced Dale into telling the media that he and Sara were no longer together in order to sell his image as a heart broken rockstar.
I also liked the supporting characters in the book. Aimee and Matt, Wendy and Carrie and then Ben.
The references to the 1980's, the use of DNA on a reality TV talk show (this one made me think of Sally Jessy Raphael Show) and so many other things also made me happy. And last but not least I really appreciated the epilogue at the close of the book, it brought the book to a very nice end. I recommended this book with **** 4 Stars.

Lucky Girl is the follow-up to Dear Rockstar. It is the story of Sara, a normal artist, and Dale, a up an coming rockstar. They have been together for sometime but Dale's manager won't let him tell the world about Sara because he feels its bad for Dale's image. Things are going good for them despite that but the past has a way of haunting the present. Can their relationship survive the difficult road ahead of them?

I really liked Dear Rockstar (4* read for me) and had high hopes for Lucky Girl. And for sure Emme Rollins didn't let me down...in fact I liked it even more! Much of the inital character development had been done in Dear Rockstar but the characters grew in Lucky Girl. I really like Sara and Dale and the love in their relationship. It was fun to watch them become who they are and grow into themselves. The plot was well developed and moved smoothly. It was a bit predictable but there were definitely a couple things that caught me off guard. The writing style flowed well kept me engaged in the story. I really enjoyed the Lucky Girl and will definitely be reading more from Ms. Rollins in the future. If you like rockstar romances you should definitely check out both Dear Rockstar and Lucky Girl.

For fans of "Dear Rockstar". The awaited sequel where we discover what happens with Sara and Dale. This relatively short one is full of suprises and fast paced.
We get to see the backstage of music industry and meet managers not better than sharks. What does it take to promote a band and create the perfect image (illusion really) to please the fans and sell records? What lies to tell the public and what secrets to keep hidden...
But Dale knows what he wants and is not ready to sell his soul and compromise everything he is. He remains true to himself. Dale's greatest love is Sara and he supports her in everything she does, at every bump of the road. He truly is a great guy! And it's comforting to know Dale is not led astray, not tainted by fame. It's also good to see Sara fighting to reach her goal and become an artist, a stronger woman. She faces her demons and knows that in spite of her horrific past, thanks to Dale she really is the luckiest girl in the world.
Imaginative, never boring, Emme Rollins has introduced surprises, suspense and emotion without the quite common angsty love triangle you can find in other books and I found it refreshing! So, well done.

This is the second book in this series, loved the first one and hoped not to be disappointed in this one. Glad to say i wasn't disappointed!!
This time around we find a more mature Sara and and even more adorable Dale. Dales band is taking off and becoming famous. Sara has finished college and is now working, this book deals with a lot of things affecting their lives. Dale has grown up believing that rock star Tyler Vincent was his and his sister Crissy's real father, though Dale had always kept that secret from his "dad" John. Sara has always grown up believing her real father was dead, and she great up abused and tortured by her "stepbeast" father.
I loved this story line and all the little twists to come out of it. This book keeps you on your toes the whole way through right to the end!! I loved how Dale and Sara coped with things that were thrown at them. It had humour, angst, sorrow and tears and hotty totty sex scenes !! but most of all it was a compelling little read, i couldn't put it down!!

Eeek! I love Dear Rockstar and didn't think it could get better but boy did Emme Rollins change my mind about that! I love the whole two years later concept. We meet old characters and new in the form of Chrissy Dale's sister and a few other surprises. I wish I could give this book more than five stars because I truly enjoyed and loved reading this book! It only took me a few hours to read :P Worth picking up a copy and supporting Emme Rollins!!!! I love the big confrontation between Dale and Tyler it was bound to happen and I'm glad it turned out the way it did, I am so glad that Dale and Sara are still together and going strong in the book and everything they do together is sickly sweet and I want my own Dale Diamond! :D Love it to pieces Emme Rollins can't wait to see what you come up with next because if it's anything like Dear Rockstar and Lucky girl, it's going to be one hell of a story! <3

Ok Emme Rollins has done it again. This is the 2nd book and I have waited for this one it take place 2 years after Dear Rockstar.
Sara is done with school and Dale has made it in the music bizz. But can there love stand strong when everything around them seems to be crumbling down? In this book everything comes to a head is Tyler really Dales father? And the stepbeast what happens when he.......oh i really shuldn't say. We met Chrissy Dales sister and wow hello crazy. A baby is born and 2 wedding happen. And just as life seems to be going great for Sara BAM something happens. Will she ever get her happy ever after? And what happends when the man she thought was dead shows up saying he is her real father? Is he?
But why did i give this book 5 stars well because it is amazing i couldnt get enought. I could read about Sara and Dale forever. I hope that Emme does more to this story not that it is really needed. I just want more

Getting the Lucky Girl ARC gave me the perfect excuse to read Dear Rockstar. It was a little strange at first seeing that I was 2 years old when this book was set, and the lack of technology. But for the most the decade difference didn't prohibit my enjoyment of both books. Although I had found both books pretty predictable I greatly enjoy the story. The story is well written, the characters were mutli-dimensional, and despite being an ARC there were very few editing issues. I was a huge BSB fan in high school, so I totally understood Sara's obsession with Tyler Vincent. I loved John and how he so easily and effortlessly cared for all three young adults. I felt like it kinda ended abruptly and I'm hoping there's a third book in the works because I need closure.

Lucky Girl is the sequel to Dear Rockstar, and in this story we see the continuation of Dale and Sara's lives together. A lovely trip back to the 80's for me as well - I could really envision those pink bridesmaid dresses! But I digress...on to the review.

I thought this was a very sweet story, and while there is some conflict and issues to overcome, they weren't overwhelming. There are other issues from the past which arise, threatening both Dale's career and their relationship. I'd have to say though, that I honestly never felt that they wouldn't get their HEA. The revelations at the end of this book truly took me by surprise (and that doesn't happen too often!). This would have been a 3 star read but for the ending...great job there Emme. The steamy scenes in this one were more plentiful...and very well done.

All in all, a good solid, sweet read.

Lucky Girl continues the romance of Sara & Dale, 2 years after Dear Rockstar & all the minor characters are there as well. There are new situations facing this adorable couple: Dale's career is taking off & Sera is working as a graphic artist & they are coping with the inevitable separations of the music industry. While this story ties up loose ends, there are some interesting subplots that arise & Emme Rollins deftly weaves the whole into a satisfying conclusion. This was a really good read, winding down after the holidays, so much so, that I then went on to reread another story by Emme straight after it came to an end! Dale & Sera are a fabulous couple & I know that these 2 books will both be rereads for me in the future. Thanks Emme, you've hooked me & now l'm moving you onto my favourite author list.

Dale Diamond finally made it as a rockstar. Sara is his biggest fan and his fiancé. But also one of his biggest secrets. Dale and Sara have to struggle with being apart & being engaged but can't tell anyone. Sara doesn't want to ruin Dales career so she agrees to keep quite even though that's not what dale wants. Dale is tired of Sara being a secret so he takes her on his tour. Dale steps up and does right by Sara but can more secrets come between them? I fell even more in love with Dale in this sequel. He is a true rocker & a true man at heart. He loves hard!!! Great end to a beautiful rocker story. I highly recommend this book!! 5 stars!!

While I liked Lucky Girl, I thought Dear Rockstar was much better. Lucky Girl, at times, felt like the author needed to hurry up and write a sequel and wasn't given near enough time to really do it well.

Early on in the story, there were a few pages where the POV went from 1st person to 3rd person and back again, all within the same paragraph. It was confusing and distracting.

It felt forced, like the author hadn't really come up with the full story before she had to put it in writing. I still like Dale and Sara, but the book just didn't have the same feeling as Dear Rockstar. And the whole ending felt really rushed - like we just had to get it all wrapped up quickly.

Again, while I liked it, I think it could have been a better sequel than it was.

Emme Rollins gives a great sequel to Dear Rock star. Dale is climbing the charts with Black Diamond. Sara has finished school and has a job doing what she loves. Being a rock star's girlfriend is not easy, between fans, bad managers, and secrets being kept will these two find that perfect life they have been working towards? What a great couple, Dale and Sara are so cute together, and wow do they know how to turn the heat up. This was a great story with lots of sweetness as well as surprising moments. Emme Rollins has not disappointed yet with her story telling.

I won this book as a FirstRead.

This sequel to Dear Rockstar focuses on Sara and Dale's relationship as he and his band become famous. Dale's agent wants him to promote himself as single for the groupies, so Dale is forced to hide his relationship with Sara from the public.

I thought this book was just OK. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the first book of the series, but the characters seemed to be more in lust than love to me. Also, at the end, I felt there were a lot of loose ends left to be addressed but weren't.

I enjoyed this book, but the ending and the whole mess with Tyler and John seemed to be thrown together to quickly. It felt like there was so much more that could have been done with that storyline and how that played out with Dale's career.

But then, I could say the same thing about Ben finding Sara. He shows up, He acts in way that could be suspect (if you were a suspicious person), but then he's suddenly an OK guy.

I like the story, I just felt like something key was missing that we had in the first book.

Lucky Girl is the sequel to Dear Rockstar in the Dear Rockstar series by Emme Rollins. Who doesn’t love a rock star? I do! And I loved this book.

I didn’t realize this book was set in the 90’s until the playlist at the wedding reception. The throw back music brought back a lot of memories. I guess I would have realized this if I would have read this first book in this series.

I received a copy of Lucky Girl for the purpose of an honest review from NetGalley.

This is the sequel to Dear Rockstar, and to sum it up easily, it’s the story of Sara a normal artist and her rockstar boyfriend Dale. All seems great right? Until you add in the shady manager who won’t let Dale tell the world about Sara, because of his image. I won’t tell you this surprising or unpredictable, because really, most romances these days with rockstars, are! This reminded me of SC Stephens Thoughtless series, toned down several notches.
