The Keeper

Oisin is not sure he wants to be Keeper of the Book of Magic - but when his little sister Sorcha is kidnapped by the Morrigan, a raven-goddess with a heart as dark as her feathers, he has to learn how to use the Book for good. On his quest to rescue Sorcha, Oisin must conquer the Mountain of Wind, defeat snow-snakes and shadow fish and enter the Morrigan's chamber of bone. Can Oisin discover the secret of the Book, so that he can truly become its Keeper and release Sorcha from the grasp of the Morrigan?

When Oisin (pronounced Usheen) discovers the book of magic, he and his siblings get teleported to the land of the Fey away from Ireland. It is only when the Morrigan gets involved that they are in danger. Can Oisin stop Morrigan's evil plan? Read on and find out for yourself.

This was a pretty good read. If you enjoy fantasy stories set in Ireland, then be sure to check this book out at your local library and wherever books are sold.

Oisin (pronounced Usheen) becomes the keeper of a magical book. He with his sister and brother get taken to a magical land where the evil Morrigan who wants the book kidnaps the younger sister. What follows is a trip to the Morrigan's home via a magical boat where Oisin and his friends learn magic and face adventures.

So many brilliant concepts crammed into one book with a twist I did not guess. However I felt everything just happened and there was no real suspense, no adrenaline, and I wanted more world building.

A great read, fast paced, for those who like magic, mythology, and reads aimed at younger teens

I found this gem at my local library. It's Harry Potter meets Irish mythology!!! So of course what's not to love? Well I don't love that it's a solo book. Unfortunate because I would have loved to dive back in to this world. I struggled a bit with Irish myth and names, however the storytelling was great for young readers

Where do I begin. So much suspense! It was fantastic!! I felt connections with the characters I have never felt before. They jumped right out of the pages! The message of the book was a real work of art. And this is the first book I have been completely wrong on a prediction! I had to re read to prove the outcome. This book has no flaws and is a must read.

Entertaining to read. I learned about Irish mythology, but there was not enough theme and evidence to work with for an in-depth essay.
