The Bigfoot's Mate #2

For Fur's Sake

Rate this book
After seeing something he can't explain in the nature reserve where he works, Park Ranger Vaughn Jones discovers that Bigfoot is real. And, well, Vaughn has also realized that he has a thing for this particular tall, muscular, and hairy beast who likes him back. A lot. A whole lot.

But then the media get wind of what's been going on in the reserve and a paranormal investigation show's crew invades with personnel and cameras. They want to find Bigfoot, too, and share him with the world.

What's a reserve full of Bigfoot lovers to do?

Sacrifices will have to be made if Vaughn and the rest of the townsfolk are going to keep their Bigfoots safe, but in the end, it'll all be worth it.

This novella includes a GFY park ranger and a cinnamon roll cryptid having outdoor smexy times while hiding from prying eyes, keeping secrets, and generally avoiding telling the truth about the existence of Bigfoot while the cameras are rolling even as they work toward their HEA.

This is going to be the most insane sentence I've written in some time but, when I get a non-human romance, I like more relationship development before the "formally straight" MC takes non-stop 12" inch exotic schlong.

There, it had to be said.

Look, I've read a lot of Delaney Rain, and when she writes super short novellas, her sexy times without much world-building or relationship kind of works for me. I have a history of rating this author really highly. But For Fur's Sake was too much sex when it just didn't make sense.

These two barely talk, I swear. The MC discovers that Bigfoot (Bigfeet?? Bigfoots??) exist, and then he is getting unceremoniously railed. I mean... I had whiplash and I wasn't even being rocked by a yeti d!ck.

There was some mild plot there with a possible Bigfoot outing (it's like they want to be discovered??? Worst hiders ever), but the relationship barely progresses. Is this even a romance?

I liked the hairy Bigfoot parts (though I have some questions...), but the story was severely lacking.

I was so excited when I found out this was a sequel of the Bigfoot’s Mate series. I hope there’s another book coming soon :)

Their attraction towards each other was pretty much insta, but didn’t happen immediately on the first few chapters, which helped me enjoy the story better. I liked it. But typical Delaney Rain, this book focused on the sexual relationship > romance. So you know what to expect from that.

I loove the cameos from Bigfoot’s Mate because they were still so cute and it perfectly lined up with this storyline. Heptus is so much different than Till. Although I like quiet bigfoots more, Heptus manners were kinda funny and cute and it’s easy to like him. And surprisingly, Heptus behavior was so much humane than Till, because what kind of bigfoot says something like, “Meet your prostate,” with such smug LOL 😂

I also liked how this book focuses more on the plot. It was fun.

I really do need them to figure out a way for the bigfoot community to be able to blend in or unite with the humans because when something happen around the area the bigfoots were staying at, it really makes me feel anxious 😭

I wish there had been more to their relationship than just sex. There was no getting to know you... They've barely had any conversations between them. I wanted more. I liked the premise though... Ugh.

DNF @55% ... I generally like this author's stories, which I think is why I stuck it out as long as I did. This one just really didn't work for me. There was literally zero chemistry between Vaughn and his bigfoot, which just made all the sex - and Vaughn's obsession with taking it up the ass despite having never had an interest in gay sex before - feel totally offputting instead of hot, interesting, or in any way advancing the relationship. Because, again, there *was* no relationship.

Do I want to read about foot-long monster cocks? Yes.
Am I here for formerly straight men discovering they were wrong about that? For sure.
But with no compelling story, no chemistry, and no personal growth outside of a sudden itch for cock, this one just felt a slog to read, so I gave up on it. 🤷‍♀️

I‘ll make this short: I liked it. Especially the characters and their chemistry.

What I did not like was the plot, or rather, what the plot did to keep Vaughn away from Heptus for a portion of the book. We didn’t really get to know Heptus that much and that’s something I really quite disliked.

Other than that, this was a fun and quick read.

Vaughn is the odd man out. Everyone knows the secret about the local Bigfoot population but him. That is until he's injured trying to save one. Heptus is a lonely bigfoot who thinks Vaughn is the cutest thing he's ever seen. But Vaughn is straight...or is he?

Yeah, you know where this is going...

This was fun. Better than the first. Enough so to tip it into the 4 category. It was pretty funny too seeing how the town tried to navigate having a tv crew in town.

There’s sex in pretty much every scene together, with no prep and barely knowing each other. Inviting a tv show to not get attention to the reserve makes no sense and Bigfoot kids and adults taking risk when the crew is nearby it’s also very logical decision for a race who’s been successfully hidden hundreds of years.
It’s the first book I’m so disappointed with the plot and couple, but just couldn’t make any sense at all. When the Huck thing even happened? I liked Vaughn and how the solved the situation though.

A bit lighter than the first book with a furry sexual awakening and some bigfoot hijinks and love.

Vaughn loves the quiet life of being a ranger for the out of the way reserve near the town of Baker, even if it does have the occasional nutcase Bigfoot hunter. But when an encounter with such a hunter leaves Vaughn injured and has him seeing what certainly seems to be a Bigfoot Vaughn quickly learns a town secret. Brought into the fold both as someone in the known and someone with an interest he wants to help the Bigfoots in any way he can. That quickly goes a bit wild when a reality show gets involved, but Vaughn is determined to keep his new home.

The sexual awakening part is fairly tame, as it is more of of not having the chance to act on it than it being entirely unknown. Having it awakened with a Bigfoot has a good mixture of sexytimes and humour, as there is something a bit ridiculous about the first time being with a big hairy monster. Equally the interactions with the reality show lean into more humour and chaos than true fear and risk. The whole part of it being "reality" comes up pretty quickly, but the hijinks going on in town and on the set do cause some chaos that is just as fun.

As always there is potential for more in this world and some loose threads with a few characters that could lead into other books. Always a fun read!

Super cute!

Vaughn and Heptus were adorable together. Vaughn is a total cutie. I loved how curious he was without being pushy or demanding; he just wanted to know that he wasn’t crazy and the second he did his protective instincts kicked in on making sure the community was safe. Heptus was so sweetly straightforward in his pursuit of Vaughn. I loved that he just went for the guy he was interested in and it didn’t have to be any more elaborate or complicated than that. We got to see Ramsey in all his adorable bumbling glory. That man cannot lie for the life of him and honestly he’s about as subtle as a ten foot pole but he’s cute doing it so I guess it’s okay haha. I will admit, I wasn’t a big fan of Vanessa but I think that’s more of a me thing - I tend not to love the whole loving the limelight thing. To be fair, she seemed to have mellowed by the end of the book so I’m probably being harsh. I loved that we got to see everyone in the Community coming together and I cannot express how much I cackled about Huck. That made my day and I’m still sniggering over him. Very sweet, lots of fun and a good dose of heart-warming make this awesome!

I love Delaney Rain, and always recommend their books for monster mm lovers. I might recommend reading the first Bigfoot book in this series before this one, but I think you could jump into this one if you really wanted to first.

In this one, Vaughn is a park ranger who works for Ramsey - oh Ramsey, you can't lie for nothing lol. He discovers that not only are Bigfoot real, but his boss loves one! Oh, and there is also a big blonde Bigfoot who's interested in him. AND on top of all of that, Vaughn, Ramsey, and the entire community of Bigfoot and their human friends must deal with increased interest of people wanting to come find if Bigfoot is real or not.

OK one thing I love is this whole interconnected world that Delaney has written, where all of the books have connections and crossovers. I LOVE when authors do that with the books they write!

Also, I loved Vaughn and Heptus together. I'd love to have had even more time with them together honestly. They were just FUN. I love Heptus snooping in Vaughn's window in that one scene.

And can we get Huck's story?? LOL

This is out now on the author's website, and on amazon in August.

I liked Heptus’s character from the previous book (The Bigfoot’s Mate), but I would have liked a little more of him. Ramsey got to know Till really well in their book, even with Till not speaking so much. I felt like Heptus and Vaughn didn’t have as strong of a connection. Maybe because I don’t think the word mate was used until the epilogue.

Vaughn was an okay character overall. He had a younger twin sister Vanessa who featured in the book multiple times. He’d been in the army previously, but was past the PTSD stage. I liked how quickly he accepted the Bigfoot community and also his surprise bi-awakening/gay for you moment. He didn’t really second guess it, and went right with it.

I liked seeing some of the past characters like the Mayor, Ramsey, etc. but we also saw some new ones like Pria and her baby. Unless I don’t remember her from the other book, which might be possible. Overall I’d probably give this 3.5 out of 5 stars, but think I’ll round down since I wanted more of their connection than just sex. They didn’t even really talk much, and Heptus was a much better spoken communicator than Till.

I loved The Bigfoot's Mate so I was super excited that there was going to be a sequel and don't get me wrong, I liked it fine but I guess I just wanted more? (I guess it was a little bit of a let down because not that I was expecting the same thing but maybe I was a bit?)

It was definitely nice to read about everyone again especially Ramsey and Till! I definitely liked Vaughn and Heptus .

Still, it was entertaining and interesting! :)

I loved Heptus and Vaughn. This author is a instant buy for me. I got this one early because I ordered it from her website.
This is the second one in her Delaney's Bigfoot series. But I love that it apart of her shared universe. With her books The red Dragon's mate , A demon's mate and A death Worth living. You don't have to read the other three too understand this book. But if your like me you love to read all the books in a shared universe and if you read the other three you will not be disappointed.

Must love monsters

If sexy monsters are your thing, you'll love Delaney 's "For Fur's Sake". She introduces us to Heptus and Vaughn in this book with her usual humour and sexy interludes. You won't look at Bigfoot hunting the same. As per her style, she delivers another low angst, heartwarming, and heated monster romance. The town is in on the secret but the book lets the reader into the inner workings of the community. Come find out what the town is protecting.

I adore this world so much and love the whole bigfoot community! I think Heptus and Vaughn are super cute together, but I wish there was more to their relationship than just insta-love and just spice. I really enjoyed this book but not as much as I did the first one. However it's a great series.

Oh Dang!

Seriously dang. Absolutely loved every single word of this and already plan on rereading it soon. Loved Heptus and Vaughn like crazy. Loved that it connected to the Demons mate and red Dragon books. Loved that it opened up a third book for the future. Literally loved all of it.

Amazing book! Reccomend so highly!!

A little sad about the instalust in this one compared to the first bigfoot one BUT then they got all mushy and cute together which I DID like so it all worked out. The overall plot was fine, if a little bit unsatisfying at the end, and I enjoyed the humor of some of the lines. Would recommend to anyone who wants to read about a forest ranger having their gay awakening over bigfoot.

Big...Feet

I actually liked this one more than book 1. The characters were more engaging, the plot was a little more cohesive, the fact that previous characters played a pivotal role was also nice. The romance itself was very much leaning more erotic and wasn't in your face this is romance but that was ok in this case as it was all wrapped up very nicely.

I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first one. It's a cute fast read with a bit of a kink element to it.
Honestly I always look forward to this particular author's new releases and I hope to see more in this particular series.

Vaughn and Heptus are super cute together. The story leave you with that “awwww, how sweet” feeling. As usual, the Delaney Rain vibe is immaculate. I love this author’s books so much.

The writing is decent but it is very insta-lust. I always prefer for there to be more development emotionally between the two characters at the beginning, and this just didn't really do that. It's just lust at first sight.

This was such a fun, low angst novella. It had its tender moments, as well as its spicy moments and I was smiling the whole time. I think it is my favorite one of the two bigfoot books from delaney.
Highly recommend!
