This new isagogics textbooks examines and explores each book of the Old Testament, preparing students of the Bible to read Israels texts with understanding and insight. It helps answer questions such as What is helpful and what is detrimental to evangelical faith? And How do conservative scholars respond to critical views of the Old Testament? The book interacts with scholars in a respectful way while providing evangelical assessments that foster historical and theological confidence in the Old Testament.
A fantastic edition that explores the Old Testament Christologically in a way that doesn't put you to sleep. Attention is given to historical and text critical issues but this is not the main focus of the book. CPH did a phenomenal job with this. Anybody interested in the Old Testament should pick it up. Do note the Kindle Edition is not paged correctly, but this shouldn't present a issue for most.
I have used this book for a seminary class on Old Testament Introduction. Excellent resource, thorough yet not laborious. A fine resource for continued use by all students
