Karroté

Rate this book
Karroté is a comedy fantasy for adults. This novel strips away all of the conventional romance and fluffy niceties associated with the talking animal genre. It laughs in the face of cute, and flips the vees at cuddly. Welcome to life at the bottom of the Food Chain. Puerile, vulgar, and a grammatical affront to English speakers everywhere, this book is not recommended for children - or lovers of foxes with vivid imaginations.

Watership Down meets First Blood.
Loved this book from the first page.
It features a well-organised warren of rabbits who have lived many moons in complete safety until on day an urban fox arrive on the scene. The fox is despatched by Pansy*, an older rabbit, using Karroté.
This ultimately leads to a pack of foxes, lead by the High Lord, Antrobus De'Ath. Antrobus has a scheming son, Vincent, who wants to be High Lord and uses a mole to spy on his father.
The central character is Dickweed who is the unofficial minder for an albino rabbit, Marigold aka Fizz, who has escaped from Invivatrax BioSolutions, is addicted to Nicotine patches and knows plenty of human, or scum as calls them, swear words.
The chain of events leads to the foxes attacking the warren and the rabbits being betrayed by their own leadership.

The book is not recommended for children.

* The rabbits are named after flowers in total disregard to their gender.
