I read a lot of this in other places. But it was nice to read it all again. I especially liked the essays on how the Pilgrims sucked compared to colonial Virginia, how embarrassing massive resistance and prohibition were, and how snooty First Families of Virginia can be. Good stuff. I met Virginius Dabney's granddaughter once, and told her what a great person I thought her grandfather was.
