I didn't think it would take so much effort to read a travel book! I want to move to Orlando, I take that back - I AM MOVING TO ORLANDO! It has been a dream of mine for 15+ years. I thought it would be a good idea to get a crash course on the state.

Wow! This book was not only a great resource for planning visits to Florida, it is full of color photos. I will enjoy it as a souvenir!

It had great tips for what to expect at places that aren’t as huge as Disney and Universal. Hey, I appreciate a touring plan for the Kennedy Space Center.

Heck, I think this book would be fun for armchair travelers. Can’t make it to Florida? Read the book!

One of the less successful entries in the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides series, in my opinion. For some reason, the guides on U.S. states don't seem to hold together as well as the ones on cities. Here there is fairly good coverage of Miami, for example, but other aspects of Florida, notably the Keys and Everglades, get short shrift. As always, the strength of this guide is in the selection of photos and illustrations. Perhaps in trying to appeal to so many different markets -- everyone from the Disney World devotee to the golf retirees -- the book lost focus. Still, I'd have to give it a thumbs up overall on the strength of organization and visual appeal.

This is a great Florida travel guide book that gives you exactly the information you need to make your trip to Florida memorable. The layout of the regions and cities in Florida were easy to navigate and the photos were eye-catching. In particular, I liked the way they featured St. Augustine, Palm Beach, Miami, St. Petersburg, Pensacola and Key West. My only gripe is how there were certain misspelled words throughout the book. My only guess is that the publisher was rushing to get this book released and they didn’t do enough proofreading on time. Other than that, the book was great and it is easy to take with you during your Florida travels!

This guide did not do me much good. I am going to Naples and then Miami then the Keys. They have one short paragraph on Naples. I can not believe that is all to see there. Miami had more and so did the Keys. But even things to see on the way were not told.
